I can not believe that this is it! The end to Ella’s story. I feel like I have been on this journey for so long, and then before I knew it ended way too soon. Surrender was 5 stars amazing from beginning to end. I had started this journey one day walking into my library to find a good book. I saw the 1st edition book cover to “If I were you”, and never knew checking out that book would bring me to a new world I will never get out of. The Inside Out series is where it began for me and where we met Ella. That series was a roller coaster ride and through the books and novella’s, you never really knew what became of Ella, until Denial was published. Oh my! Lisa did not let her reader’s down.

You feel like you are magically involved into their world. I did not think any other alpha male would be up on the sexiness level as Mark or Chris (Inside Out series) until we met Kayden! I know I wrote reviews on the other two books, but it’s so hard to write this review without a little background. If you only have read the Careless Whispers Series, I recommend you go back to where it all started with the Inside Out series. You need to meet Mark, Crystal, Sara, and Chris.

Now to Denial. WOW! I want to give it 10 stars if I could! The suspense of what would happen next held me captive all through the book. We have already seen how solid Kayden and Ella’s relationship had become.. And if this was not the ultimate test, I have no idea what is. Ella is ready to start giving up control to Kayden’s needs, and those scenes make you squirm. They are hot and make you want more. You will be afraid to blink so you do not miss something intense There will be more betrayal. More heartbreak for Ella. But at the end you will find out who Ella really is. With all the history I have with these books ( and yes I have read the Walker brother’s series where Blake comes in ) I never saw this coming. Not one clue. Surrender has all alarms going off. It’s sexy and intense. Ella is strong and holds her own. Kayden and Ella will protect each for always, including the ones they love. Meet The Hawk and Lady Hawk. This book blew my mind away! I want to be Lady Hawk.

Thank you Lisa! This is the reason I am a huge fan! You have me hooked. I read your note at the end of the book and agree with all the “What’s next?” I can only hope one day, you will continue to give us more. Thank you for giving us these characters, Paris and Greece. And these hot alpha men!

When I started reading this series I questioned whether to go on, laying the foundation for the whole story took at least half of the first book. I almost gave up on it and I am so thankful I pushed on. Turns out this series is truly excellent. The suspense, heart thumping drama, and the hot sex all together makes for a combination that is this page turner. It goes from character building to full on page turner in an instant. Ella was attacked in an alley, Kayden found and saved her. I didn't understand why she freely went home with him but, he felt familiar enough too her. Kayden is the "hawk" of the underground, a treasure hunting organization; his only true mistake is trusting those around him but, when money is involved there seems to be someone willing to betray anyone. Ella is an American with amnesia in Italy, no passport, no money, and seemingly no ties to anyone; as she starts getting her memory back we quickly learn she is much much more than the little petite thing we see. The chemistry between Kayden and Ella flies off the pages; though the sex never got as dark as Kayden promised, which is a shame but, because of with Garner Neuville did to Ella it is understandable to not have it unleashed. Kayden and Ella along with their group come up with an elaborate plan to end this mess and many of the players involved. Ella is a total badass, Kayden knows it but, he learns the depth. I can't say much more without giving up the story and I will not spoil the thrills. I will tell you to pay attention, if you don't you will lose out on important details that are relevant! Ella has the hawk wings tattooed on her wrist, Kayden tells her it will protect her, see just how it does just that and I promise, not in the way you're currently thinking. Enjoy the ride,the thrill,and the sexy sensuality that is the Carless Whisper series. I highly recommend this series, enjoy.

Ella is still worried about who she really is and she has slowly remembering everything about her past but not before her worries almost destroyed her relationship with Kayden. I love how she never wants him to change. She knows she's the Hawk and that he needs to make difficult choices. She even worries that he'll make choices he normally wouldn't because he loves her.

Kayden refuses to loose Ella and would die for her. He'd never hurt or betray her and she's not afraid of any part of him. Kayden's known to have a moral compass but he's not a man you would cross. Ella has always felt connected to him and he makes her feel safe and like he would never hurt her. She also wants Kayden to feel safe with her, too.

I thought there was more of Sara and Chris in Surrender after reading the synopsis but it's actually there wasn't. I actually preferred that the story focused on Ella and Kayden and didn't have much of Sara and Chris no matter how much I love them since they already had their own series. It was kind of funny how Sara didn't trust Kayden and Ella didn't trust Chris. Ella and Sara were protective of each other and I have to say I really prefer the friendships in this series over the ones in Inside Out.

All in all I still have some questions but mostly I was satisfied how this ended. I'm so glad I decided to read the spin off and I'll definitely read other books by this writer.

OMGosh Lisa, I am so thankful I grabbed that book! To be able to continue with Ella's story, and get some much needed closure was perfect. The Careless Whispers books were a complete pleasure to read...

There was action, heat, passion, suspense, emotion... there were questions answered, I got to visit old friends. If I could give this book, hell the whole series, more than five stars... well, there's just not enough stars! I give it infinite stars!! XO

I know I am just one of many who were eagerly anticipating this conclusion to Ella and Kayden's saga. It picked up around where Demand ended: Ella and Sara are on the phone and it's told in Sara's POV. Quelle Surprise! I liked getting some glimpses of Sara (not really, you know I wanted to see Chris) in this one.

We're then immediately thrust back into the dynamic of Ella and Kayden's relationship. She's still struggling to remember and ultimately the right triggers are conveniently helping the cause. He's doing everything in his power as the Hawk to end her torment and to provide her with safety and security, as well as be the supportive, caring and considerate man that loves and is loved by her. Their love and connection was as strong as ever, despite her habitual hesitations. Their chemistry was as off-the-charts as ever.

On the suspense side, a plan finally falls into place, even considering the unpredictable nature of the players involved. Niccolo is still expecting Kayden and Ella to eliminate his brother, Neuville, and provide him with the necklace. They just need to stay one step ahead of him. Unfortunately, Neuville is a psycho, no one is safe, and I was doubting who could be trusted.

I know I'm going against the grain. I know that I will be of the minority. I'm actually used to that, but I didn't love this book. As much as I had looked forward to this story, it felt anti-climactic. It left me still yearning for a conclusion. As beautifully written as it was, I wasn't wowed. This had a lot to do with the redundancy of Ella's inner thoughts (am I really the only one who was annoyed?) and the lack of an effective ending. It didn't touch me. I wasn't satisfied with the way things were left in the end. The only thing that gave me hope is the hint that the author left that there may be an epilogue for this couple in the future.

This was an enjoyable and entertaining conclusion with an action scene that highlighted Ella's badassness. There were appropriate doses of love and forever between her and Kayden and I was still very much in love with his character. I'm crossing my fingers for a future epilogue!!
