“So,” I began, trying to keep my tone casual to mask my confusion and discomfort, “what brings you here tonight?”

Lame.

Lucien smiled softly, his eyes never leaving mine as he answered the question. “I’m here to meet you.”

He wants me! Will I be able to see him naked?

What. The. Actual. F!? I’m straight.

He must have seen the alarm written on my face because suddenly, I felt him send another psycho-electric pulse through my body. This time, though, everything blurred for a moment—except his electric blue eyes, which pulled me in like a black hole obliterating everything else around us. When the sensation passed, I found myself sitting much closer to him than before, our bodies touching, my face inches from his.

“What was that?” I whispered.

I want more. Damn, I’m hard.

Lucien smiled enigmatically. “That’s what I do,” he replied cryptically. “It’s just one of the...gifts...I possess.”

I tried to lean away from him, but as soon as I did, Lucien sent another pulse through me. This time, the sensation was even more intense. My heart pounded, and my mind felt foggy, like I’d just awakened from a deep sleep.

And then, without warning or conscious decision, I kissed him.

OMG, it’s better than I imagined.

His lips were soft but firm against mine, the perfect balance of tenderness and desire. His tongue danced with mine in a sensual rhythm that sent shivers down my spine. His taste was intoxicating—a mix of mint and something else I couldn’t quite place but wanted to explore further. His scent enveloped me, a heady combination of cologne and his natural musk, which only heightened my senses—time seemed to stand still, leaving me lost in a moment of pure sensuality.

I pulled away from Lucien, my heart beating heavy in my chest.

I had never kissed a man before.

How’s he doing this? What’s happening to me?

A small part of me, an inner voice, reminded me that I was straight. But as soon as the thought occurred, Lucien would lean forward, lips parted, and I would kiss him, forgetting I was straight once again.

My body is betraying me.

Lucien kissed me, and I struggled against the tsunami of desire washing over me. I tried desperately to hold onto at least a veneer of self-control. But with each passing second, it became harder to resist Lucien’s pull—a force so powerful that it seemed to sweep away even my deepest convictions about my sexual identity.

This book combines the gripping novellas
Insatiable: Seductions and Insatiable: Cravings into one thrilling novel. Matt, a man sure of his heterosexuality, never expected his world to be upended by Lucien’s irresistible charm and dark allure. But after succumbing to Lucien’s seductive powers, Matt awakens to a shocking new reality: a coiled serpent of desire implanted within him, fueling an uncontrollable hunger to dominate—and pleasure—other men.

Determined to break free from Lucien’s hold, Matt fights to regain his former life. Yet with every encounter—a barber, a delivery man, even strangers in public places—the serpent’s influence grows stronger, pushing Matt to seduce men with an allure none can resist.

As his MM desires spiral beyond control, Matt uncovers a terrifying truth: the serpent’s hunger is far more dangerous than he imagined. To survive, he must confront the dark cravings consuming him, harness his evolving vampiric powers, and face the true nature of the connection that binds him to Lucien.

This novel contains mature male-on-male situations. If you are easily offended, don’t read it.

Randy Cumming writes intense ‘friction fiction’ for other gay men, blending elements of sci-fi or the paranormal to keep readers guessing about the story’s direction. His ultimate thrill lies in creating scenarios where a supernatural force emboldens the protagonist to initiate daring sexual encounters with other men in acts that Randy himself would rarely, if ever, dare to try.

The book is high-heat (for mature readers) but with a story. MC Matt, having just broken up with his girlfriend, is at a bar with his friends when he gets weirdly smitten with another guy in the bar who turns out to have seductive superpowers. There are no traditional vampires in this book (i.e., no pointy teeth, no blood), but there is plenty of M/M gay sex. The main character here is Matt. He finds he's acquired the same superpower that was used on him, and now he's "insatiable" for more M/M sex...in the bedrooms, in the showers, in public restrooms, parks, with delivery men, neighbors, barbers, just about everyone: to his delight and absolute horror.

It's like the urge to seduce has a mind of its own, and Matt's not using his new seductive superpower so much as being used and controlled by it.

Matt tries to go reclusive to avoid contact with other men, and I had feelings for his predicament.

In the meantime, he continues to be attracted to the mysterious man who initially seduced him in the bar. Something is happening there, and I enjoyed reading about Matt's romantic attraction to the stranger and how he leans on one of his best friends, Sarah, to navigate its complexities.

The sex scenes are top-notch, and Matt's first-time discovery of the joy of gay sex in so many situations reminds me of my teenage explorations of the same. It is innocent and mind-blowing at the same time. The POV is first person, which makes the narrative clean and personal.

    Five stars!
