About the author

Sam Kestrel writes lesbian erotica, romance and mystery. Sam is a quiet, behind-the-scenes kind of gal and she can't actually believe that with this pen name, she had the guts to start writing erotica. Just another lesson in the universe having other ideas when we're off making plans. In her other life she writes children's books and figures that it's best to keep these pen names separate. Think of her as writing for the entire family. She has something for almost everyone! Her writing journey started on Medium where she began with short stories of 2k words or less. But now she wants to write more complicated characters and stories and is shifting into longer works that will allow her to do that. Through her newsletter and website, samkestrel.com, Sam hopes to connect with her readers. She really wants you to drop her a line. No kidding. And newsletter subscribers get a free epilogue to Working From Home, a short story not available anywhere else.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 20, 2022When Alisha invites Cari camping, they're both in for a few surprises especially about what they thought they knew leading to a little angst, a few laughs, some good discussion, and a whole lotta heat. And the heat is hot!
This is a well written short story, which smoothly invites you in, keeps your attention with an entertaining storyline, likeable characters, and a good build up to some beautiful, touching hot scenes.

- Reviewed in the United States on September 21, 2022This was my first time reading anything by this author. It definitely will not be my last! Was caught up from the first in this short story. I loved both both women and felt that I’ve known both of them. This author is now one of my authors to follow!
This is a short story which doesn’t take much time to read but it will grab all of your attention.
Enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars great short story
This is about a woman who has a crush on her “straight” Co-worker and they go away for a camping weekend. The straight one quickly acknowledges that she too, is a lesbian. The intimate scenes are detailed but nicely written. I’d love to know what happens next.

3.0 out of 5 stars I'd definitely like to revist these two
I quite liked the story. Considering the length we don't get to know much about the MC/LI but, to me, what I saw was nice and I honestly would love to see this extended even if just to a novella. Greedy much?
Mind you, I don't know if it's because I'm not used with Sam writing style, but at times I think the dialogues were a bit blunt. I mean, not as in vulgar or crass as one could infer, but as in more direct than (at least) I'm used, throwing me off balance. And even though it wasn't hard to pick who was saying what, the lack of "indicators?" (is that how it's called?), pointing who was saying what was not ideal.
I know it's a short and I supposed not everyone will go to great lengths to edit things, but it really could use some more polishing. The plot idea was great and the hotness is there, but these bits I mentioned kinda takes away a bit of the pleasure of the reading. I still recommend the reading, especially if there's some fixings here. I'll be checking Sam's other works anyway.
