Catching the Cowboy: A Royal Brothers Novel (Grape Seed Falls Romance Book 5) Kindle Edition
Cowboy Dylan Royal is good at two things: whistling and caring for cattle. When his cows are being attacked by an unknown wild animal, he calls Texas Parks & Wildlife for help. He wasn't expecting a beautiful mammologist to show up, all flirty and fun and everything Dylan didn't know he wanted in his life.
Hazel Brewster has gone on more first dates than anyone in Grape Seed Falls, and she thinks maybe Dylan deserves a second... Can they find their way through wild animals, huge life changes, and their emotional pasts to find their forever future?

- Reviewed in the United States on May 21, 2025I really enjoyed this book except for one thing, the use of y’all. I’m from the south and have even live in Texas, if you are referring to one person you should say you. If you’re referring to more than one then y’all is correct as it stands for you all. Other than that the book was very good.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 18, 2025Everyone has to want a cowboy like Dylan!Hazel found the man that would give her a happily ever after. He whistles, he loves swaying with a dark haired one year old, loves his brothers, sharing their new ranch, his new German shepherd pup, and putting the beautiful bright eyed woman he fell in love with first in his life. Definitely worth the read!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 7, 2018I love the Grape Seed Falls stories by Liz Isaacson and Catching the Cowboy is no exception! We go back and meet old friends and meet new ones. The middle Royal brother, Dylan, is a loner and inexperienced dater (more so than his brothers) and when he meets Hazel Brewster from Texas Parks and Wildlife fireworks go off. Now could you resist a sexy cowboy dancing and whistling to a one year old baby girl? Neither could Hazel. Past heartaches and misunderstandings prove that love can hurt and do you really want to go through that again? Will this time it be different? Are new beginnings worth pursuing?
- Reviewed in the United States on June 11, 2018This was a sweet clean romance about a set of 3 brothers that are cowboys working on a ranch in Texas called The Grape Seed Ranch. It is a very large cattle ranch and they all have their own duties. Dylan, the middle brother, was in charge of the back ranch acreage where the cattle were being attacked and killed. They called in the wildlife department that sent out one of their people to see if the attacks might warrant them doing a survey to see if the attacking animals needed to be moved to contain the attacks on the cattle. The person that arrived to talk to the ranch owner and foremen was Hazel. Immediately upon looking at Dylan Hazel fell for him and the same thing happened to Dylan. They had to go stay at the cabin at the back of the ranch near the cows to monitor and see what had been killing the cattle. They went out at night to see if they could see what was after the cattle and found a pack of coyotes that were just on the other side of the fence. The next night they seen a cougar. Dylan shot it a couple of times with the dart gun and he!d a rifle on it till Hazel put a gps tracker in it to monitor where it went. The next night the coyotes were back and she wanted to put a chip in the large one that was leading the pack. Dylan put a dart in it and she put a chip in it also. They spent the entire week in the cabin playing board games, eating and finding things to talk about while checking the cattle at night.
Hazel did not go on second dates but she was smitten with Dylan. They started dating and she loved the way he looked and the way people looked at him like she did. He was the type of cowboy that knew how to do lots of hard work and still look good cleaned up. But when the 3 brothers start to talk about buying the ranch next to The Grape Seed Ranch he was trying to do all the things necessary to help get the loan and start working a plan for fixing the ranch up for the Royal brothers. Hazel felt left out and broke off seeing Dylan. He did not know how much he missed her till she was never around. She felt there was no happiness in her life and she quit her job with the wildlife department and focused back on her beauty parlor she set back up in her home. She still was not happy.
Dylan decides to go and bring Hazel to the ranch for supper with his brothers and Shane's girlfriend Robin. He wanted Hazel in his life no matter what it took. He felt that the ranch didn't feel like home without Hazel there. When they arrive all the brothers and Robin greet Hazel like she belonged there with them. He brings Hazel back into his life and finds a way to make her first on his list. They know they love each other but it has only been a few months. Shane and Robin gets married and as the people are all leaving the party, Dylan asks Hazel to dance. The dj starts playing a song as they start dancing and after a couple of rounds he falls to his knee asking her to marry him. They see that is what both of them need to be happy. Such a sweet story of a second chance love.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 11, 2018I enjoyed this book about Dylan and Hazel. Dylan seems to be made to be a father since he's really taken with his boss' one year old daughter. He whistles and dances with her and she just loves him, too. Hazel is a Texas Parks and Wildlife ranger who comes to investigate unusual deaths of cattle on the Grape Seed Ranch. As they spend time together, Dylan and Hazel grow closer. Dylan buys a neighboring ranch with his brothers and Hazel is inadvertently put on the back burner with all the work involved in getting the ranch running. As he realizes his mistake, he has to convince Hazel that she will come first. Will she take that chance?
- Reviewed in the United States on July 10, 2021Enjoyed reading this book from the first page, it was interesting how the 3 brothers all seemed to blame their lives on their Dad, nobody seemed to be able keep a friendship with any gal except Shane and Robin until Dylan met Hazel, I felt she wasn't being honest with him, always comparing him to Peter.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 5, 2018this is the first book that I have been able to read for a few months, and what a treat it was. I loved the characters, the Royal brothers, and in particular Dylan. Although shy, he develops into a man who can articulate what he thinks, and what he wants. This book deals a lot about knowing what makes you happy, and how to stay happy. Clean, Sweet and believable.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 4, 2020When Dylan and Hazel met, their focus was on finding what was killing the cattle. Their time together helped them to become acquainted and eventually love one another. They had some issues to work through before total commitment. Another good addition to the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars A series of true romance stories
I stumbled upon Liz Isaacson when looking for something new to read.I wasn't looking for specific 'Christian romance ' more something that wasn't page after page of graphic sexual gymnastics. I love an authentic feel good romance that has real people and real problems. I have loved this whole series and I'm never disappointed with the characters or their journey. Liz has a fantastic way of working with each couple and winding their storyline into the fabric of the series creating a true community. I would happily recommend these books to anyone who loves a bit of romantic escapism. *****
