4.3 out of 5 stars 4,330 ratings

I accidentally hooked up with the guy I despise. A mistake I’d love to forget…except now he’s my new roommate.
Reese Landry is Orleans University’s arrogant, All-Star catcher.
And I’m the one girl he
can’t seem to catch.
If anything, it only makes him want me more.

He’s disgustingly rich, stupidly charming, and everyone loves him.
Except me.

But then life throws me the ultimate curveball: He’s my new
temporary roomie.
I thought it was going to be easy, keeping him at a distance.
Turns out, I was wrong.

He’s nothing like the cocky, rich playboy that I thought he was.
I told myself one more time wouldn’t hurt.
We promised to keep things casual, no strings attached.
But soon lines blur, and he somehow becomes my only safe space to land.

And now, we’re catching feelings.

Catching Feelings is book 2 in the Orleans University series and can be read as a complete standalone.

I finished it with full on tears in my eyes. It was such a whirlwind of feelings. I felt for Viv in everything she went through and was feeling. Viv is such a relatable FMC. Yes she’s closed off and quick to put up her walls, but underneath all of that is just a woman that’s trying to hold her world together and live in her grief. ♾️ There’s a really special moment between Viv and Hallie towards the end that just shot me right in the heart. Their friendship is sacred and I am so happy that they stay so close even after finding their guys. ⚾️ Reese Landry definitely makes it into my top 5 book boyfriends! This man was so completely devoted to her from the very beginning. The ‘boy obsessed’ trope is officially my new favorite. There’s just something about a man who likes to spoil. 💜 If you are looking for a book with just the right about of spice, a cat daddy that will melt your heart, and a story that will soothe your soul, you have to read 𝘾𝙖𝙩𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙁𝙚𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨! ⭐️ I'm just going to sit here in my feelings, anxiously awaiting Maren's next masterpiece! 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑺𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒚: Reese Landry is well on his way to the MLB as a star catcher when he graduates from Orleans University. He has parents who love him. His family is rich. Everything in his life is perfect except his one sided crush on Vivienne Brentwood. The woman can’t stand him but he can’t stop himself from trying to get closer to her. When Viv is in need of a place to stay, he jumps to offer his guest room. Viv has a fiery personality and loves making her podcasts, Spaced Out, with her bestfriend Hallie. For years now she’s been pretending everything is fine in her life. When her mom loses another job and can’t afford her rent, Viv jumps to empty her savings even though it leaves her homeless at college. Just when Viv considers dropping out, Reese invites her to stay with him. Viv is lying and pretending to everyone, but there’s something about Reese that makes her want to bring down her walls. Book 2 in the Orleans University series focuses on Viv and Reese, who we met in Book 1, The Homerun Proposal. They've had a relationship that can be described as contentious, at best. But when Viv finds herself without housing, it's Reese who offers a place for her to live, and though she tries to avoid it, she ends up taking him up on the offer. Can she keep him at arms length while dealing with her mom's situation, and write her book, and handle schoolwork? Will Reese finally get Viv to give him a chance?

I loved it, even more than The Homerun Proposal! The author handled grief delicately, honestly, and in a way that made it easy to understand. That makes this another one that hits me differently than it might have a year ago. Viv's relationship with her mom, especially at the end of the story, is something I can't really relate to, and it makes me sad because I'll never have the chance to change that.

There was everything I love in a New Adult book - it was spicy, and angsty, and fun, and emotional. Viv is trying to stay strong and keep it together in the only way she knows how. She has to learn that it's ok to lean on others for help, especially on those she loves, who want to be there for her. I love to see characters grow and change and learn to be different and/or better. Viv is doing her best, and she just wants to help everyone she loves, while Reese realizes that he only wants her to let him in and allow him to support her. Pretty sure Reese has risen to my #1 book boyfriend spot!

I loved their nicknames for each other, as well as the small touches, like the breakfast exchange and the relationship between Reese's sister and Viv. I just want to stay in that world, and will definitely be re-reading this again, probably sooner than later!

Thank you to Maren Moore for having me on your ARC team, I am so excited to be able to read your stories and share them with others. I am happy to share my honest review.

I loved how caring and perspective Reese was in this book, and how they have a connection, like they understand each other without having to speak to each other. I relate to Reese in that my love language is also gift giving, so I’m happy that Viv eventually accepted this about him. The reason I gave this book 4/5 stars is because it was a little repetitive at times and a little too sentimental (especially at the end) and it made me cringe. On top of that I felt like some parts of the story were lacking purpose, detail, and time transitions, especially the part when they go to the ball with his family. Like they kept hyping it up about how much fun it was going to be, and when they tried to leave early Rosie wouldn’t let them because they would miss the part she waits all year for. But like what was it? Putting on some beads and handkerchiefs and dancing? From the time they arrived to the time they left it read like they were only at the ball for five minutes. I just wish something would have happened. One thing I did really like is that Viv had her own life and stuff no one knew about, it was relatable and felt real compared to other parts of the story. I also liked that Hallie, Lane, and Grant were in the story, though I wish it was a little more. This book is very Reese and Viv strong, and has less friends than the first book. Like where is Eli? Overall, I would recommend the read, but just know the first book was better. Yet, I still can’t wait to read about Grant. All guys are great so you know the next book will be decent too. This book is not a slow burner which is nice, and the spice is spice-ing~~ thought I was disappointed there wasn’t any 🍑nal, could have been hot.

What a super fun, swoony, angsty, made me giggle like a little girl perfect combination of a book. Maren just knows how to hit the feel good spot when I need her to. (Might’ve given me a good cry too).

Viv knows the last thing she wants to be is a burden to those around her, she’s always been the strong one, especially with her mom. When Viv find herself handing over the money for her dorm to settle some debts, Viv needs to find a place to stay and fast and not raise red flags to her best friend. And what do you know, in swoops Reese. The gets on her nerves, hot as all get up, previous one night stand and her best friends boyfriends best friend Reese. He offers her a place to stay, comfort, some good cardio workouts 🥵, and a cat???? How can she focus on it all when her life at home is crumbling? All she has is her mom, and she’ll do anything to make sure she is cared for, even if she doesn’t care for herself. All Reese wants is for Viv to lean on someone when she needs it (by someone he means himself) and the last thing Viv plans on doing is calling on someone else to help her, even if that means her life falling to the wayside.

If there is something Reese remembers, it’ll be something Viv did or said. Because his life strictly revolves around Viv and I mean baseball ball is pretty important to, and i guess his family, but Viv (the one who won’t give him the time of day) is always in the front of his mind. And he really needs to get that under control because she would rather be anywhere else than in the same room with Reese. Yet here his is offering up his extra bedroom (or his bed 😏) when she needs a place to stay. And yet here he is getting all her favorite groceries, and yet here he is falling fall more and more by the day and she won’t even open up to him about her life. However, Reese is a stubborn guy and if there is anyone he’ll be stubborn with, it’ll be Viv. I guess she’ll find out, Reese is a man of his words and when she need him, he’ll be right here waiting for her.

Honestly, want a great couple! The freaking puns they would leave for each other. Cmon how can they not fall in love???? I just love a good banter story, and Maren truly hit that for me. CANNOT wait for the next one.

Viv and Reese will go down in history as one of my favourite couples of all time. They start as enemies to lovers, however Reese is a simp for Viv from the start. I loved how their relationship progressed through the forced proximity stage into the stage where Viv trusted Reese with her problems and he genuinely loved having her around. I adored every second of this story!

I love a good enemies to lovers with all the banter, arguing, flirting and tension. This author delivered! Throw in when he falls first and hard….and boy oh boy was Reese Landry just the best book boyfriend.

This book starts off with one heck of a prologue and really gave us insight into the relationship between these two. They may argue and disagree, but when they finally give in to the tension-these two are hot. But it was only for one night….They still hate each other, right?

Once I started this one, I couldn’t put it down. I loved all the things about Vivienne and Reese, I laughed so much, fanned myself and swooned more times than I could count. Seeing the way their relationship changed throughout the story, especially with Viv and her feelings made for a wonderful read. They truly got along so well, and the way they understood one another as they got closer, just became easy, they lives flowed perfectly together, I felt like I was smiling so much.

There were a few moments that my heart hurt for Viv, and watching her realize that it was okay to ask for an accept help was such an important moment for her. Reese stood by her through everything and wouldn’t let her push him away or run, which is her go to. I loved them together and really was a great read.

The note included by the author at the beginning was so special.
If you are a book playlist fan, this one is so good!

    I can’t wait for Grant’s story next!

Reese and Viv might banter all the long but when they got together they were absolute fire and I enjoyed it thoroughly.

ONS because they were drunk but even after months later they can’t seem to find a common ground where they won’t end up stra-gling each other as soon as they are next to each other.

He offers her to stay with him and he begrudgingly agrees only for them to continue the banter every waking moment.

Reese might be over sometimes but he was such a sweetheart throughout. This book screams “walk him like a dog, sis walk him like a walk”

Viv had suffered so much and she hid it all but then when Reese came and broke every wall of hers down. I fell in love with them both.

“The girl I thought that I would never catch because every time I got close, she’d run even further away. But we ended up colliding into each other in a way neither of us expected, and it turns out that catching feelings was the best choice we ever made.”

UTTER PERFECTION AND ALL THE STARS FOR REESE AND VIV! I am literally at a loss for words to describe how much I love this book. It is no doubt a top read of the year for me. The amazing enemies to lovers banter, the sizzling hot roomates with benefits chemistry and the incredibly swoony “he falls first and hard” moments.

Catching Feelings really shows that prejudice you have about someone can be extremely wrong. And that’s exactly what happeed with Reese and Viv.

Viv lost her father in high school and since then her mom wasn’t the same. She had to juggle between school, writing and work. She had the weight of the world on her shoulders and I empathised with her so much. The last thing she needs is to use her dorm money to pay for her mom’s rent so that she doesn’t get evicted. Now, she doesn’t know what to do with college and her living situation.

The all-star catcher Reese is filthy rich. He doesn’t want for anything and everything seems to come easy to him. But not Viv. He was downright obsessed with her from the first moment they met. Her insult instead of hurting his feelings got him hooked and he couldn’t stop wanting her. When he found out she has nowhere to stay, of course he offered his spare guest room to her.

Viv doesn’t want to burden Hallie because things are going so well for her, so she took up Reese’s offer and moved in with him. To make the arrangement work, she set out straight boundaries right off the bat.

There is no doubt they are physcially attracted to each other and their sexual chemistry is just insanely hot. They thought a little fun wouldn’t hurt and guess what? So, they agreed to a roommates with benefits arrangment. Casual, fun and uncomplicated.

Viv kept her distance at the start but over time, his kind, thoughtful and caring personality broke down her walls. Her narrative started to shift. He became her safe space and she learned to be more vulnerable, open and happy. When they start to truly communicate, their relationship solidified. It was adorable to see how much they care about one another.

Reese is honestly the full package and I am totally feral for him. Loyal, attentive, possessive and so damn sweet. He anchors Viv in a way that no one else does and shows up every time for her no matter how difficult things get. Did I mention he also loves to spoil his girl? DREAMY!

This books checks every box for me. It’s heartwarming, sexy and also raw with emotions. Maren delivered above and beyond. I can’t wait for Grant’s book!

When two people who hate each other end up in a mind-blowing one night stand and become accidental roommates, you know you're in for a rollercoaster of emotions. In 'Catching Feelings', Reese Landry is the epitome of a dream guy - protective, loving, and caring, with a surprisingly filthy mouth that adds depth to his character. Viv, on the other hand, is strong and independent, dealing with heavy topics like depression and grief while shouldering the burden alone. It's heartwarming to see her finally open up to Reese and let him in. Maren expertly weaves these emotions into a cute, sweet, and fluffy story that tackles difficult themes. I was so immersed in the characters' journey that I can't wait for Grant’s story to unfold. 'Catching Feelings' is a must-read for anyone looking for a mix of romance, emotions, and true character growth.
