4.6 out of 5 stars 178 ratings

A skater turned motorcycle repair shop owner fights with an attractive client. The client comes back for more. Will he give the grumpy man exactly what he’s looking for?

Jaime Hadler is on the hunt for love. He works endless hours to make his motorcycle repair business a success, but his life is upended when an alluring jerk accuses him of a botched repair. How does this infuriatingly stunning man know just how to rev Jaime's engine?

Kaiden Visser is merely surviving. While grieving the wreckage of his last relationship, he seeks solace in the freedom of the open road atop his new Harley. When the repair shop breaks his prized possession, the owner has more than his blood pumping.

Jaime struggles to deny his desire for a man who’d run him out of business. The moody Kaiden finds himself drawn to the carefree spirit hidden beneath Jaime's tough exterior. When they both surrender to the heat between them, will they find comfort—and maybe even love—in each other's arms?

Catching His Fire is the fifth and final novel in the Mesa Boys series. It is an enemies-to-lovers, hurt/comfort romance with an HEA and no cliffhangers. It features a light-hearted skater, motorcycles, and a serious man who needs someone to show him how to live again. Each book features a different couple and can be read as a standalone or as part of the series in order.

Plunge into this world of bad-boy skaters with lots of steam, emotion and found family today!

Christie Gordon is the author of steamy, heartfelt gay romance novels that explore the emotional journey of men discovering themselves and finding love. It all started when she stumbled upon MM fanfiction by accident—and let's just say, it was love at first read. Inspired by the genre's mix of passion and complexity, Christie transitioned from reading about men in love to writing her own stories. After taking fiction writing classes at a local community college, she published her first MM romance novel in 2009 with a small press, and she’s never looked back.

When she’s not writing, Christie watches boys-love dramas, creates digital art, or is serenaded by her snoring one-eyed rescue pug. A graduate of both Electrical Engineering (BS) and Business Administration (MBA), she spends her "day job" navigating the high-tech world, but her heart belongs to the characters who live in her books. Christie currently resides in the Phoenix metro area, though she’s also lived in California’s Bay Area and Minnesota (which probably explains her deep love of pumpkin spiced latte coffees and hockey).

She’s also the proud mother of two young-adult sons who provide plenty of material for stories—usually in the form of chaotic shenanigans. But no matter what, Christie’s always up for a new adventure, whether it's on the page or in the real world.

This was a really good book. I've come to really like this author's style. I really wanted to shake Kaiden and Jaimie a few times regarding Sophia...wake up guys!!!! But the ending to the series was satisfying. I have now read all of her books...I'll just have to be patient for the next one to come out!

Kaiden was trapped in a couple of different ways when he first met Jaime. He is trapped in the need to feel secure in public when he dates so although he is attracted to men as well, he is dating women exclusively because it is safer. An event in his past left him feeling that way. He and Jaime spark from their first meeting but there is friction because Kaiden can't get out of his own way. Jaime is a good guy because Kaiden needs a lot of patience from him. Also because Kaiden is also being manipulated by an ex with whom he went through a tragedy but who he needs to get away from because what's left of their relationship is toxic. He is conflicted and trying too hard to be supportive but guilt is not a good reason to stay at someone's beck and call. Jaime is good for Kaiden as figuring out what he wanted with Jaime helps him to also sort himself out. It was also good to visit with some of the other couples from previous stories. The Mesa boys are cool and their relationships are complex and they are a good supportive group of friends.
I received an ARC and am leaving an honest review.

I kind of saw what Sophia was doing, like, it was super obvious but wow... What a plot twist. I did not expect it to turn out the way it did. But this whole series was so good and I'm so glad that Brandon and Devin are going to get a shot in a new series!! Totally going to read it!!!

Kaiden meets Jamie when he takes his new Harley to Jamie’s shop for some modifications. When he goes to pick it up, a screw falls off the bike and Kaiden gets pretty testy, refusing to pay until he knows where it came from and his bike won’t be damaged. Jamie goes along with him, grudgingly, thinking Kaiden is being an ass, but a really hot one. For the next few times they meet, it evolves into a verbal fight to the point they are so attracted to each other, all bets are off.
Kaiden had been involved with men in college, but has stuck to women the last several years, so he is quite disconcerted to find this overwhelming desire for Jamie. Jamie, meanwhile, is interested in whoever attracts his attention, be it male or female, although most of his friends are male. Kaiden interests him the first time he lays eyes on him.
The story revolves around the developing relationship between Jamie and Kaiden, and an ongoing complication from Kaiden’s old girlfriend, Sophia, mother of the baby lost through a miscarriage a few months ago. Kaiden carries the pain of that loss deeply buried, and it impacts his ongoing relationship with Sophia, and consequently the developing relationship with Jamie, and Jamie has his own unresolved issue to deal with before the two are finally able to get to their HEA.
The pain and loss of a miscarriage, for the male partner especially, is handled with sensitivity, honesty, care and compassion as the reader experiences Kaiden’s pain, loss, and guilt as he tries to move on. A tattoo plays an especially poignant part in the story for Kaiden. Fatherhood is also a strong theme in the book, be it becoming a father, being a father, the lack of a father, or the loss of one.
This is a long book but a beautiful love story of two men who begin as enemies but find the love of their life and their HEA.

An enemies to lovers hurt/comfort story with a well deserved happy ending. All of these books have been great and had wonderful characters. I liked seeing past couples/locations in each story and following along. The writing is good and flows well, but as with some of the other books there are passages that get a little wordy and drag for a minute. Great series though! I read an advanced copy of this before writing my review.

Explosive chemistry follows a heated argument over a motorcycle modification leading an easy going skater into an enemies to lovers relationship with a serious physical therapist in need of some healing for himself. Jaime Hadler owns his own motorcycle repair business, skates casually with his friends and is hoping to finally have the time to find that kind of special relationship his friends have all found. Kaiden Visser, a physical therapist, is struggling with grief over the miscarriage of his baby son and the subsequent destruction of his relationship with his ex-girlfriend.

Although Kaiden dated men in college, he put those feelings aside and committed to conventionally accepted relationships with women. Now he finds himself uncontrollably attracted to the man that positively infuriates him but he can’t forget. Kaiden’s and Jaime’s arguments always end in hot encounters that finally convince them to give a relationship a try.

But Kaiden’s ex-girlfriend isn’t done with him yet and her refusal to accept the inevitable and her scheme to win him back may end them before they can really begin. And there’s still the problem of Kaiden not being out to his family and friends.

This book is about healing and comfort, support and acceptance and the commitment to stand by the ones you love. Jaime and Kaiden are romantic and sexy and the bonds they form make a beautiful happily ever after.

I love this book and I’ve loved the Mesa Boys series. Can’t wait for what’s next!
