Cats and Crime Kindle Edition

3.8 out of 5 stars 30 ratings

Love cats? How about clean cozy puzzle mysteries? And flash fiction?

Then you'll love these stories.

Meet 24 year old Lori Stockley, the mail order private investigator, and Panzer, the rascally black cat, in this short story collection. Oh, and we can't forget Lori's Granny Gladys. Put these three together and it's a recipe for chaos. Follow them as they catch drug dealers, burglars, bank robbers, and carpet snakes.

The P.I. Lori Stockley cases are meant to be tongue-in-cheek spoofs of the hard-drinking, hard-fighting private investigators of the genre.

Five of the stories in this collection feature P.I. Lori Stockley, her Granny Gladys and Panzer; one features P.I. Lori Stockley working on her own; one features Panzer home alone and two feature police Detective Matt Stockley.

As an added feature, Panzer has included before each of his stories one of his favorite quotes from a famous or not so famous or totally unknown human.

Fiona loves writing mystery and romance short stories, novellas and novels with an occasional nonfiction book for variety.

She's owned by two cats: Panzer and Pagan Eddy. Panzer's mother is a Siamese and his father a traveling sales cat. Panzer is sixteen pounds of black fur built like a tank. Panzer's half-brother is Pagan Edward whose father was a visiting Bombay cat. Pagan is eight pounds (full-grown) of black fur full of cat attitude who isn't afraid of neither man nor Panzer.

Fiona's past careers have included working as a bookkeeper, an insurance agent, a Notary Public, an administrative assistant, a jewelry designer, and a Social Media Information Technology Administrator. All of these were to support her writing addiction.

She started writing in the second grade with a story about her horse named Booger. Yes, that really was his name and her teacher and classmates couldn't stop laughing when she read it to the class. She was hooked on the joy of laughter and writing from then on.

Short compilation of stories about Panzer the cat, his owner and her granddaughter as together they solve several CRIMES. Pander is an active part of the stories which is always a plus for me. There are also two shorts about the granddaughter' s detective husband who readily solves two murders.Good book but I really wanted it to be longer.

Delightful Short Stories. If one is lacking time to sit and read for long periods of time, these are cute "pick me ups". This author, Fiona Woods is quite talented and I would like very much to see her develop more of her "short" stories into complete Novels. From a Layman's (woman) point of view they are quite well written, great plots, lovable characters, (love the cat) and edited well, they just end far too soon. There is so much more that could be put into them, that having a full length Novel, should be no problem. So good Writing Fiona Woods!

The short stories are very well written and the cat doesn't do anything a cat wouldn't normally do. The detective is very alert to small details that help her to determine something is not right. I enjoyed them very much.
