What a lovely Christmas surprise this was!

What a lovely Christmas surprise this was!
Picking up after Book 3, we follow Thea and her family at Christmastime... but it isn't all merriment for Thea. After a year of excitement and danger, a quiet Christmas at Astermore feels a bit foreign. Thea misses her friends — a certain inspector in particular — and feels isolated being thrown back into her familial role. Uncertain of where her relationship with Leslie stands, she doesn't know how to ward off her family's not-so-subtle hints of marrying her off. Meanwhile, little Mercury has been sneaking out of the room. After one of his adventures, he brings Thea a key. A seasoned sleuth at this point, she sees this as a new mystery. As always, I enjoyed visiting Thea's world. This one has a slightly different vibe than the other books with the absence of some key characters from the rest of the series, but it was interesting getting a glimpse of what Thea was like before they entered her life. There are some appearances from some of the minor characters from past installments which was also fun to see. I'll be on the edge of my seat until the next book!

A cute, cozy christmas novella. A quick read that would be perfect to get you into the christmas spirit.

What a wonderful novella to get the reader into the Christmas spirit and enjoy a new Lady Thea mystery! The characters are so very British and I instantly loved the loyal butler, Mr. Barton and Mr. Wakefield the gardener.

Christmas at Thea's childhood home, is different since her brother and his wife took over the house. Hoping for a quick visit, Thea finds herself in the middle of a mystery which connects her to her father, who has passed away. When the little feline detective, Mercury, brings a mysterious key to Thea, it starts her on a quest to discover clues as to why her father kept a coroner's report, of her Aunt's death, under lock and key!

I can't wait for the next book!

This was s good short story. Many tend to get you interested and end far too soon. This did end too soon, but the story was still complete. I really like reading more about a favorite character, and this story did that. I definitely recommend this short story.

Loved this appetizer for the continuation of Theas' story. As with the other books, the characters are interesting and the set-up for the mystery is tantalizing. Can't wait for book 4!!!

This is the latest in this series (please write more!) and is very short. But, it has everything you could ask for…..an adorable cat, charming characters, delightful descriptions, a little mystery, a little promise of romance, no sex, no violence, and no cliffhanger ending. So, curl up in a comfy chair with a little snack and a cup of tea and enjoy!

This short story of Thea's trip to her family estate for Christmas has laid the foundation for another book to continue the story. When Thea fine an unusual key, the search is on to find the door it fits. What mysteries await Thea when she opens the door, we will just have to wait for the next book.
