Cold Pressed (Seacroft Stories Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.3 out of 5 stars 285 ratings

No strings attached is all Oliver can offer. He's hiding a broken heart that holds him back from diving into a new relationship, but he'll go on a blind date to make his family happy. Just one date, though; he doesn't have time for love to derail his plans.

Divorced and demoted to the night shift, Nick has his own problems. He's got an ex-wife who needs him and a kid with one foot in juvie. The last thing Nick needs is to butt heads—or other body parts—with a tempting hipster who wears a sad smile on their blind date.

Their chemistry can’t be denied, though, in an argument or in bed. No strings sex is uncomplicated and that's what Nick and Oliver need. But getting into bed together is one thing. Staying out of each other’s hearts soon becomes so much more complicated than either one imagined.

Cold Pressed is an 80k contemporary MM romance. It features a smoldering bisexual single dad, a broken-hearted hipster with a thing for beet juice, and a friends-with-benefits arrangement that blooms into the HEA you've been looking for.

A delightfully complex story with a diverse cast of characters, the second in Ms Temple's Seacroft series. Great plotting woven through multiple threads, the principals are men you can love, and both are in their thirties, so much closer to adult lives.
As I am a gatherer of books, I collect books and ebooks from a variety of sources: Goodreads wins, BookBub, BookFunnel, Riffle, Prolific Works, emails from authors and publishers, and others. I do lose track of their sources. But, as a reader, I feel I should give an honest, unencumbered review for all I read.

This the second book in this series. I have been reading them one after the other. The characters are well developed. The dialogue is realistic, the emotions are relatable. The ONLY reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because of typos.

I enjoyed the book. The characters. Loved Nick. Ended up loving Oliver, but he took some warming up to.
It isn't an instalove story, which makes it all the better. There's some sexy times, that actually feel right and not forced.
    Nicely done.

Hang in there with Oliver’s wacky juice bar/nutritional coach nonsense. It’s not supposed to make sense.

What does make sense is Oliver & Nick. They both get a chance to work through past mistakes, and get to a place where they believe they can be happy. I enjoy this town and all the characters created. There is good humor and honest connections. There is a lot going on, but it never felt like a soap opera. I cared about the characters, their relationships, and enjoyed reading this story.

There was so much going on in both these men's lives, that it would be easy to lose their relationship in the mess. I didn't mind this book and I quite liked Oliver from the previous book, though of course now that we see the world through his eyes he is less certain and perfect than his brother saw him. Nick's world was way complicated and only the very brave would go forth with him. I felt for his son, and his ex wife was kind of too perfect. So I rate this a B, maybe even a B-.

This book would make a nice weekend read. I like that it had substance. There was more to it than just Nick and Oliver's love story. The side characters added to the story and at times I wanted to smack several of them: difficult Hayden, seemingly somewhat needy Anya, and snarky Seb. Yet they all gave depth to the story.

I like it when a story has a lot going on, but the more going on, the harder it sometimes is to tie up all the ends and answer all the questions. Without giving away spoilers, I'd like to know the full resolution of Hayden's situation and if there was any related impact or interaction from Christian, I'd like to have read that Cooper finally accepted reality and really got what he 'deserved', and maybe some mention that Oliver's rented home is more than month to month since events transpired as they did at the end. There were some things that seemed a bit rushed and unnecesary for the main story, like the last scene in which Avery and Oliver talked.

The chemistry and heat between Oliver and Nick was evident and they clearly had a good time, in all of their varied locations, even with rug burns and head pelts from lube bottles. They enjoyed all of their moments of intimacy.

I had not read anything from this author before, but I enjoyed Cold Pressed and think it worked well as a stand alone. I did not feel like I was lost by not having read the first book, which I now want to read. However, I'm really looking forward to Avery's story and I'm interested in seeing what else the author has to offer us in future books in this series.

This book reads quick and easy, because it's impossible to not want to know how it ends. The main characters are both endearing and broken and you can't help but root for them.

I loved the pacing of the relationship from its rocky start to the emotional crises to the eventual hard worn ending. It felt realistic and still beautifully put together. I loved the characters, flaws and all...I laughed, I cried, I ached, I raged and I enjoyed it all.....

What started as uncomplicated, friends with benefits gradually turns to more. But both Nick and Oliver have a lot going on in their lives. The story was good, the characters strong. I enjoyed this book.

Loved this story! Nick and Oliver both deserved a happily ever after, and the process to get there contained just the right amount of snark, humour, and angst. I look forward to the next Seacroft story.
