A Dash of Darcy and Companions Cottage Collection 1: 5 Pride and Prejudice Novellas (Dash of Darcy and Companions Collection) Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 76 ratings

A little scheming, be it by friends, relations, or even a rainstorm, might be just what love needs

While each of the novellas in this collection takes a different path to happily ever after, all have one thing in common. Love is going to need a little push before it will lead each couple down the sometimes bumpy path to happiness.

Finally Mrs. Darcy

When Fitzwilliam Darcy does not return to Netherfield with his friend, Elizabeth Bennet's hopes of ever finding happiness with the man to whom she has lost her heart are crushed. As months stretch into years, hope fades, and both Elizabeth and Darcy settle into life without each other, expecting that their paths will never cross again ─ until one night at a ball when fate, in the form of a new uncle, reunites them

Waking to Mr. Darcy

Fitzwilliam Darcy meant to restore peace to his mind and protect his heart. He intended to escape from Hertfordshire to the safety of London, but when the very person from whom he is running falls into his arms and requires his help, he will be forced to admit that there is only one place where he will find peace and his heart will be safe.

A Very Mary Christmas

Having had her mother declare to one and all that she has lost her last chance at marriage and knowing that the gentleman she wishes to marry only sees her as a friend, Mary Bennet is planning to escape to London. However, her plans run contrary to those of scheming relations.

Discovering Mr. Darcy

Arriving for his annual visit at Rosings, Fitzwilliam Darcy is both delighted and hopeful when he learns that his aunt's parson has a guest. However, when his cousin's attentions are more readily accepted by Elizabeth Bennet than his own, it would seem that happiness is not within his reach except for one thing. Walking away from the woman who holds his heart is not on his aunt's list of acceptable activities.

Not an Heiress

Mary Bennet has always longed for a quiet home of her own -- preferably a parsonage. She has even studied and prepared herself accordingly -- poring over sermons and ordering her life in a most proper fashion. However, prudence and propriety take flight in the presence of Colonel Richard Fitzwilliam while the longings of a heart stirred by love and an aunt bent on seeing her nephew happy conspire to push Mary into the colonel's arms.

The novellas in A Dash of Darcy and Companions Cottage Collection 1 are just five of Leenie's ever-growing catalog of Pride and Prejudice inspired stories. If you like well-written sweet romance, dotted with poignant moments, touched with humor, and featuring the unexpected, then you will love these stories about finding and claiming love when fate and scheming relations intervene.

So, put the kettle on, grab your copy of A Dash of Darcy and Companions Cottage Collection 1, and slip into a world of sweet romantic indulgence today.

Editorial Reviews

From the Author

What could be more perfect than escaping to the cottage and spending some time with Darcy and his myriad of friends? This bundle of five novellas, which is part of my Dash of Darcy and Companions Story Collection, will help you find that escape, even if you can't make it to the cottage.

Dash of Darcy titles in this collection will answer the question "what if Darcy and Elizabeth's story took a different path to happily ever after?"  Each of these stories will depart from the original work, Pride and Prejudice, at some specific point in that story's timeline, and while some parts of the continuation may mirror the original, most will not because these tales are reimaginings and not retellings.

Standing next to the
Dash of Darcy titles are the Dash of Darcy Companion Stories.  These stories will also be quick, sweet reads, but will focus on characters other than Darcy and Elizabeth. Each of these titles is a sequel to a Dash of Darcy story.

Happy Reading!

Leenie Brown's heroes, when growing up, were authors, and the worlds they painted with words were (and still are) her favourite playgrounds! Now, as an adult, she spends much time in the regency world, playing with the characters from her favourite Jane Austen novels and those of her own creation.

When she is not traipsing down a trail in an attempt to keep up with her imagination, Leenie resides in the beautiful province of Nova Scotia with her two sons and her very own Mr. Brown (a wonderful mix of all the best of Darcy, Bingley and Edmund with a healthy dose of the teasing Mr. Tilney and just a dash of the scolding Mr. Knightley).

This collection of five stories featuring characters from Pride and Prejudice make for interesting reading. The stories are low angst and pleasant and cover the very interesting ways that the various couples met and fell in love.

Enjoyed the stories and character changes that still seemed right for the individuals involved. The most significant change was Lady Catherine and frankly, instead of seeming unrealistic, she came off as a breath of fresh air.
Plotlines appeared uncomplicated, but the author tossed in a few twists. Storytelling done well and kept me interested beginning until the end. Lovely!!

Having read a number of Leenie Brown’s excellent books, I can say without reservation that this collection of novellas is her best work by far.
Each word earns it’s place and each novella has a firm plot. Her main characters come alive within just a few paragraphs, and there is no long rambling thought process or unnecessary conversation as they move forward. This doesn’t mean it’s easy nor is every event predictable, however, the reader is kept connected all the way. And each ending is sweet, not saccharine.
    Highly recommended.

Five different stories, three in which Darcy and Elizabeth come together along with two in which Mary finds a significant other. All five stories are amazingly written highly recommended to read
