The Crossing Realms trilogy was a love letter to my teenage self, an homage to the escapist stories that kept me afloat when life threatened to drown me.

For my next book, I drew inspiration from folktales I adored as a child and my experiences as a Korean American. It's about daughters who defy their fathers to follow their hearts and seek the truth, who learn to own their powers and choose their destinies. Crossing Realms is fast moving and entertaining. At first you might think it's predictable or a fantastic mission impossible adventure story ... but wait ... you realize you don't have a handle on it because it's kind of a Walter Mitty story of a character with a dull life who lives more excitingly in her fantasies. And just when you think you've figured it out, you're going to have to adjust your thinking one more time. It's a book with twists and turns and surprises to keep you guessing and chasing after what's really going on here. Part One leaves you with unanswered questions which make you want to continue with the series. I can't wait for Part Two to be published!

First, I expected to be unengaged with this book, as it is far outside my usual reading patterns. I'm glad I ventured into the New Adult/Suspense/Fantasy realm for this. The opening scene is quite gripping. Very visual, I felt like I was right there. I was a bit disappointed to find out it was a dream, and raced through Nina's ordinary life to get back to dreamworld. There are twists and turns, all of it quickly paced and intriguing. I would have liked a bit more character development, but as this is the first of a series, I'm sure that will come. All in all, a quick and enjoyable read.

Often times I find it challenging with my rigorous schedule to sit down and truly enjoy leisurely reading. I initially expected to read this novella a chapter at a time in between errands and was pleasantly surprised when I found myself unable to put it down. This novella features a refreshing plot unlike anything I have read. The characters are multidimensional and the plot had me both intrigued and captivated. I initially received a copy of this novella for free in exchange for my honest review, and was so pleased with the author's work of excellence that I purchased it! I look forward to the next installment of the Crossing Realms series and to discover what the future holds for characters Nina and Aeden.

I really enjoyed reading Crossing Realms- Part One. It's been awhile since I've had time to actually read something for pleasure and I'm glad I started with this book. Ahn keeps you engaged in the story and does not disappoint! Initially the story starts out slow and steady, but by the time you're nearing the last few chapters you won't be able to put it down. And then you're left wanting more! I really look forward to part two.

Mystery, Sci fi, adventure, and romance all rolled up into one exciting new series.
Crossing Realms is a new series by a new indie author, Shannon Ahn. The main character, Nina lives a normal, if boring, life when she begins to have dreams that she is an FBI agent living a secret and dangerous life. The character of Nina is likeable along with the other characters of Lily, Aeden, and Hunter.
I don't want to give too much of the plot away but this is an exciting story that leaves me wanting more. I have read the first 2 books in the series and can't wait for book 3. I highly recommend this series for anyone who likes mystery, adventure, Sci fi, and romance.

I originally read this title as a freebie from Bookfunnel, and I thank them very much for the opportunity. When I found the two sequels on Amazon.au. I immediately bought, ie paid for lol, all three titles. The first story was so intriguing that I simply had to have them to follow the fascinating tale of the young lady and her companions. Obviously, this author must have had an intriguing life as she refers to these stories as escapist stories that helped her in her younger life. I have given the story 5 stars, something I rarely do because I usually don't believe anything can be perfect. But this first episode really pulled me in. I look forward to reading the two remaining episodes.
