Heirs of War

THE HEIRS OF WAR SERIES

Heirs of War is an epic fantasy trilogy with riveting coming of age character journeys, reminiscent of Wheel of Time and the Belgariad, and expansive worldbuilding compared with A Song of Ice and Fire.

Sanc, a duke's son with red eyes, is confronted with a twisted inheritance when he learns sorcerous power flows through his veins.

Replete with political intrigue and brutal battles, Heirs of War conjures a medieval inspired fantasy world where magic costs, is hated, and yet offers the only hope against an unstoppable invasion.

Begin the series with An Inheritance of Ash and Blood, a Readers' Favorite 2023 award winner in Epic Fantasy.

Wow, Belwynn and the six other champions are going after Ezenachi. Sanc is on another world joined by Mildrith and now Heren, all helping another world to help them before they will go to Sanc world to over throw Ezenachi. I can not wait for the next book to see what happens.

Interesting characters and storyline. Complicated as epics often are. Chapters switch between many characters. I found myself speeding through the less important (and more boring) chapters/characters to get back to the main protagonists who are much more intriguing!

Sanc has found himself in a new world with only his young dog for a companion, and this world is also at war so he wonders if he will be able to find what he has come looking for after all. He has no way of knowing if his intended companion, Herin, is in this world or was sent to a different world entirely.
Exciting action, war bloody battles, magic, a dark and cruel deity, and many unexpected twists in the plot make this a must read. I think this is a fantastic book and series.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Part I is full of court drama and I loved every moment of it. It was interesting seeing familiar characters in more powerful positions.

In Part II we follow an old hero, hunted from their loss, but I found myself dreading their chapters. It felt more targeted to readers of the first saga.

Part III brings a new POV from one of my favourite characters and I’m very intrigued with their future in the series.

Great story, loved it. It's book 2 of this trilogy & very powerful. The author plays his cast of characters very well. You feel concern, jubilation & downright annoyance at how they act. It's a great story & I recommend you treat yourself to this trilogy. I'm about to start book 3.
