- Reviewed in the United States on January 17, 2021This story continues the adventures of Captain Thomas Baldwin, grandson of a legendary Admiral, and his now-seasoned crew. Having captured the enemy Assembly leader and recovered the three stolen Concord ships, they are now commissioned to escort the prisoners to their prison planets and to investigate how the Assembly force was able to steal the ships. Then, their major mission is to enter Statu territory, eliminate the enemy and free the prisoners, consisting of humans and several other races, they had taken over the course of many decades.
Mr, Hystad’s books contain strong characters that are deeply developed and have a lot of interaction, both serious and humorous. As usual, captain and crew face overwhelming odds and their share of bad luck, but they display a lot of courage and resolve to stay the course. I thoroughly enjoy the escape and entertainment these books provide – this is make-believe, after all! I have purchased the next book and look forward to reading it soon.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 7, 2020This was a very good book. I really liked the story and where it went. There was a lot of twist and turns in the story. And I enjoyed every bit of it.I loved the mystery, the intrigue and action. But I also truly enjoyed the humor and loved the hope that came with it. Can't wait for the next book. Thank you
- Reviewed in the United States on January 10, 2024The characters are well drawn and inspire us to like them. I was saddened when someone didn't live up to the Code. Just when it seems Captain Baldwin and his crew overcome a challenge and can rest a bit, a new challenge arises. I found myself devouring this book and can't wait to read Book 4 to see what happens.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 14, 2021I find each book in this series harder and harder to put down. Old and new characters just get better with each book and so do all the intertwined story lines.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 4, 2020I like Nathan Hystad quite a bit. The story is solid. Interesting developments. I await the next release.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 2, 2020The characters are so fun to read about. I almost wish I was there, but it is too stressful. He leaves you always wanting to buy the next book. I don't have time to read anything else until I'm all caught up in the series.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 1, 2020Reading this series reminds me of the age of innocence of the Star Trek era. Replace “The Concord” with “The Federation” and this is basically a Star Trek story.
Just like in Star Trek the various races from various planets can breath the same atmosphere, eat basically the same food and walk around in the same environment.
The executive crew, especially the Captain is always off on adventures, leaving the 100s of crew members on the starship to fend for themselves. Boarding other ships and heading to battle in strange environments does not required body armor or special environment suits but can be accomplished using everyday uniforms.
Also, it seems like this book was either edited by someone after the author had written it or there were more that 1 author.
Towards the end where Brax, the Captain and Basker met on the Statu world after clearing it of Statu, Brax was flying Cleo. Which would not have been possible as Baldwin had already taken it through the wormhole.
Also, what was this great plan of Baldwin’s for defeating the Statu. When he recovered from the virus, he seemed to have a cunning plan and had Treena move her ships into place. And then the battle happened. What was the cunning plan?
This series reads like a made for TV, spacey series in the vein of Star Trek.

5.0 out of 5 stars The end of one story and the beginning of another
Loved this one. With the creation of the wormhole generator Captain Thomas Baldwin can finally engage the Statu in the past great battle. Action packed and well paced leading to an epic final section this is a great read and the epilogue really throws the cat among the . For the rest of the series. Great stuff and I had to start the next one straight away.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great sci Fi
The story continues... The Concord true to pull together, admitting to past failures and committing to fulfilling their ideals. All the while the Status threat lingers, they must find a way to end the conflict once and for all. A task that is so much greater than they ever feared. It will take great courage and faith and with no guarantee of success.
Take another adventure with the crew of Constantine.

5.0 out of 5 stars The saga continues to improve.
The story continues and I can't wait to start on book 4!
I hate reviews which detract from the suspense by detailing the plot - which is why I never read the review beforehand. So suffice it to say that this is a thoroughly enjoyable read, full of surprises and twists in the plot. There are fewer instances of the strange phraseology which irritated me in the first two books and I am delighted that the author acknowledges the known laws of physics and only stretches to speculate about undiscovered possibilities.

This is the third book in this series and continues with as much excitement.
A compelling read with an exciting plot and great characters that you root for all the way. No spoilers here.
If you haven't red this series or indeed any of Nythan's books then I suggest you remedy that immediately! I can highly recommend ALL of them if you enjoy great world building, space travel, gadgets, great characters with exciting plots.
