Madman Across The Water: The Curse Awakens Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 9 ratings

Five years after the Wallis family put an end to the curse, destroying the creature which had plagued Campbelltown for generations, the townsfolk have adapted to a quieter way of life. Despite the perceived safety, most residents are still wary of venturing into the woods which had been the scene of so much bloodshed in the past. When a developer sets their sights on this area of unused land, it triggers a blood-soaked chain of events and the Wallis family soon realise that the creature had merely been dormant. Who will survive as The Curse Awakens in this terrifying sequel to Madman Across The Water?

Caroline Angel created a second thrilling horror book full of mystery and drama. I really liked it! You keep connecting with all the characters which is not easy. It is very hard for an author to create empathy between the reader and the characters, but you can expect it in Madman Across The Water: The Curse Awakens. Also, have you seen this awesome cover? It screams creepy book ahead.
I recommend Madman Across The Water: The Curse Awakens as it is a great scary book mixed with political issues and mystery for you to think about psychological issues, exploitation and how sometimes we are pawns and we don’t even know it. Caroline made a wonderful job describing the many characters personalities and expressions.
The Wallis family thought that everything was alright because they have destroyed the dangerous creature that was ruining their lives. It was all great until someone decided to use the land and awoken something bigger and darker. I had my fair amount of jump scares and I was kind of afraid of the dark.
To me this book is a must for this fall. You can expect a roller coaster of emotions. Believe me when I tell you that it is addictive and TERRYFING! It is the best book for horror lovers.

If you are here, you need to consider Madman Across The Water (the first book). I really enjoyed that book but I loved this one more. Caroline Angel's writing is exceptional and original. I have read my fair share of horror books and her books are very cinematic!

This book creeps you out with its vivid description. For a hot second you get lost in its world and if you listen keenly, you will hear your heart beat faster and harder.

I highly recommend this book. It is thrilling, well written, characters are well developed, it is captivating, interesting and believe it or not thought provoking.

PS: Read it deep into the night, near the woods for a good scare.

This book was just as chilling as the first. The brothers have to fight back the curse once more when someone decides it's a good idea to cut down the forest. I could not put it down.

Poorly written once again. Is free in kindle with membership but not even worth the free.
