    This story will cut you open and make you bleed.

    Charlie, a quiet girl who watches the boy across the street. She keeps her head down and stays out of the way of there foster parents. Charlie was such a quiet and naive girl. When Gunner does notice her he is her world. When that is taken away and she finds out something that will change her life what will happen? Her life is changed in an instant and because of it she will grow up fast and become a strong women who will protect her son and do it on her own.

    Gunner sees the shy girl across the street. When she watches him he feels like there is someone there for him. When something happens that tears him away from Charlie he vows to find her. He looks everywhere with no luck. The day he sees her again it brings up so many more questions. Then in a blink of an eye she is torn away from him again.

    This book will make your heart bleed. Charlie and Gunner have been through so much and when they do find each other again the trouble just keeps on coming. Not only is this a sweet romance with two people who have a second chance it is also a story of coming back from tragedy. There was also plenty of action, angst, suspense and evil in this book that kept you guessing.

    Ms. McCarthy knocked it out of the park with another great book with characters that make you feel.

    My first book by Abby McCarthy and I'm hooked! Great start to The Bleeding Scars MC series. It was full of angst and raw emotions that left me hurting for Gunner and Charlie.

    Gunner and Charlie's story was horrific and heartbreaking. I was at the edge of my seat wondering how much more could they take. Could they salvage their love after the violence and horrible experiencs that they went through?

    My heart hurt throughout this story. I kept asking myself when would their pain end. Abby McCarthy sure noted how to put your emotions through the wringer but it's also able to leave you with a smile and a happy heart in the end. Cant wait for the next Bleeding Scars MC story.

    Charlie has been in love with Gunner all her life. She has been his quiet shadow, watching but not saying much. A foster kid with foster parents who only want the $21 per day she brings them its easy to fade away into nothing. Gunner becomes her only friend and later her only lover. At 16 she is pregnant and Gunner is gone.. His Mom is with the Pres of Hades Runners MC. He gets in trouble and has to lay low. When he returns for his "Mouse" Charlie, she is gone. Her foster parents relinquished her care when she found out she was pregnant. She was placed back in the system.
    Flash forward to when Charlie "Mouse" is 24. She works as a stripper and takes care of her son, Gun. She has endured hell to keep him and herself safe.
    Gunner is now with his own MC Bleeding Scars. He has always searched for Mouse. He has never forgotten her. An MC drug deal with a very bad man, over drinks at the strip club and their eyes meet across the room.
    What should have been a reconciliation turns into a nightmare Mouse must endure and try to survive.
    All hell breaks loose. Gunner finds out some hard truths about the life he missed with Charlie when he goes searching for her and finds Gun.
    This book hits on all the feels and alternately makes you cry and cheer.
    Abby McCarthy has written a winding word path with many twists and turns before the hard won HEA.. I freaking loved this intense storyline.

    If you want to be on the edge of your seat reading a book then you'll want to pick this book up right now. Not only will you be on the edge you won't be able to put it down. This is a book I can see as a movie. It starts out with this young 8 yr. old girl in the foster care system who notices the boy across the street. She watches him knowing he will never notice her. He seems to be living a life not like hers. He lives with his family and they seem happy, at least on the outside. He lives such a different life than I do. She see's him around, they become friends. They become close, then he leaves without telling why. She leaves and goes to another foster care family. He doesn't stop looking for her. The journey they both take will knock you over, take your breath away. Don't miss this story about Gunner and Charlie. It will take everything Gunner can think of to find her. She never forgets him. I couldn't stop reading Abby's book Cut Wide open. It is so action packed and dark that you never will believe how this story ends. Loved this book that I had to read it for a second time. She really out did herself in this story of 2 young loves and I had to see if they would beat the odds stacked up against them.

    I read until 65% and just couldn't take it any more. I love me a good dark romance by it must contain, romance. The 65% I have read has contained nothing but the abuse and abandonment of the heroine. She is raped repeatedly, kidnapped, beaten scared branded. The hero has abandoned her both times he had a chance to actually save her or support her. no romance. Just horrific abuse.

    Charlie,Mouse,was a foster kid. Unloved and mostly ignored she watched the boy next door . Gunner watched Mouse watching him , noticing her when no one else did. Then just as things started to go right Gunner is gone and Charlie discovers she's pregnant. The majority of this story takes place many years later , it takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions and keeps you on the edge of your seat. Loved you found out a bit of the clubs history and get introduced to a few of the members so you're already invested for the next story. If it's as good as this one being it on...

    Cut Wide Open by Abby McCarthy is book one in the Bleeding Scars MC series and boy is it an emotional read! It tells the story of Charlie ‘Mouse’ and Gunner. Mouse lives on the periphery, being a young girl in foster care, she has no voice and spends her days watching the formidable Gunner. We see through her young eyes as she sees Gunner’s life change, their relationship develops into something more and then ultimately Gunner’s disappearance when Mouse needs him the most. Fast forward years later when Mouse is a young mother trying to make ends meet, only to catch the eye of a sadistic man who will do anything to keep her as his pet!

    This was quite an emotional story to read, especially when we see what Mouse has gone through, both in her young life and as an adult. She has had to endure the worst that humanity has to offer. I think what made it a little bit harder was the fact that Gunner made an assumption about her to begin with which kind of spiralled what happened to Mouse. I did enjoy how Gunner always said that Mouse belonged to him and how he looked after their son when Mouse couldn’t.

    This is a story about enduring, and boy does the main female character endure a lot at the hands of someone who was purely sadistic. At times the story was hard to read due to Mouse’s trauma, but it was also filled with love and an MC that would do anything for Mouse. Gunner was at times really intense but as we heard more of his story, we found out why he was that way and how he was betrayed by someone he called ‘family’.

    Overall, a really good, heart wrenching MC story! Note: There are some dark elements in this book which may trigger some readers!
