Sexual tension could be defined as Tyler and Bella. Book one of this trilogy is gonna have you all hot and bothered! Besides all the foreplay and spice, this book has Tyler making tough decisions regarding the future of his company. With his father trying to blackmail him from the grave, Tyler is left in an impossible spot. I can’t wait to see how this continues in Sweet Sinners!

    This story is about Bella Bailey and Tyler Hawk. Bella is the sister of Dash Black a famous author and she is his agent and a lawyer also. They work for the Hawk firm where Tyler Hawk is her boss. He recently has taken the helm as CEO because his father died. His father had this woman named Allison killed because she got to close to him and discovered some of his secrets. So he was killed in the process of trying to kill Dash's girlfriend now fiancé because she figured out what happened to the Allison, whose job she had taken. This story opens up with Bella arriving at Tyler's home to try and comfort him. She realizes after she gets there that her boss is an angry confused man and is attracted to her and she is attracted to him. So, this story is about their "relationship" and how it develops. You will not want to miss this romantic drama. I have read so many series and novels by Lisa Renee Jones and I have never regretted purchasing any of her books. This is a takeoff of the Necklace trilogy which featured her brother Dash Black and Allison his fiancé. This story made me get upset with Bella and Tyler. Bella because she wouldn't let him explain to her what is going on and him because he could have told her while they were away in Los Angeles that he cared for her and it wasn't just about sex, or maybe it is. Can't wait to read the next book in this series.

    Bastard Boss is book 1 and Sweet Sinner is book 2 in the Tyler & Bella Trilogy. This is a forbidden employee/boss story about Bella Bailey and Tyler Hawk. He is cold and always in control, so no feelings allowed for this man. He is also best friends with Bella's older brother and has been warned to stay away for the beautiful young woman who could own his heart if things take a turn. Bella is smart, feisty, beautiful and she also knows what she wants. But when Tyler's father dies and makes it so that he has to marry within a year in order to keep the company and the life he is used to things are going to get a little out of control, especially when these two get married for convenience....which turns out to be anything but.

Office romance is my catnip trope, the one I can’t get enough of, and Bastard Boss reminded me so much of Lisa’s Dirty Rich series that I read ages ago and adored. The story also encompasses all things forbidden - in both disapproval from Bella’s brother and also the boss-employee relationship. But at the heart of this story, they are friends who respect each other and understand each other. I found that Tyler’s need to push for more with Bella kept me reading, unable to put this book down. The drama with her brother’s contract creating a bit of forced proximity made this story really steam up and I was here for it.

    Tyler is the boss after his father’s unexpected death amidst scandal, but left behind is a contract that demands Tyler marry in order to keep the company and protect his employees. He has secrets and is ruthless in getting what he wants. Bella is a brilliant lawyer who slowly became his friend when she unexpectedly supported him. Both can’t seem to turn away from the mounting attraction between them, but it would cross professional lines neither can afford to cross. Tyler needs to act fast, he just needs to convince Bella to get on board.

    Ohhh I can’t wait to see where this story goes from here. With the way Bastard Boss ended, I anticipate the next two parts of this story being even better. These two characters are perfect for one another and navigating the contract left behind in his father’s will seems simple enough, except for finding a way to salvage Bella’s reputation. I am so ready for more and to find out how this all plays out.

    I overall liked the story, but felt it moved kinda slow. The action finally picked up and the book ended. I will probably read the next book, because I have to know how the story goes and what Dash will do. This was my first time reading this author, maybe that's her style.

    I'd probably recommend this to someone who wants a slow burn type story. Personally, I'd prefer a little faster burn.

In the instance of Tyler Hawk you'll, by turns, both love and hate him. Bella Bailey may be the only ray of sunshine in his life. Although he's her boss, she thinks of him as a friend and perhaps more. She doesn't hesitate to call him on his behavior when his mood swings happen so fast, going from hot to cold that they leave Bella dizzy. The chemistry between them is raw, electric and all consuming. He's everything she shouldn't want. She's everything he can't have. As if there isn't enough on Tyler's plate, his father reaches from beyond the grave to create havoc in Tyler's life yet again. The do as I say or else edicts seem to be ironclad no matter which way Tyler or his attorney look at them. When he comes up with a hail Mary workaround never in a million years did he think it would blow up in his face.

Tyler Hawk is a rich, handsome, brilliant boss who doesn't allow himself to have feelings for anyone. He uses women to meet his needs but never allows feelings to enter into his one night stands. There is only one woman who he could have feelings for - Bella Bailey. Unfortunately, she is the one woman he can't have. Her brother is his friend and has warned him off Bella. Additionally, she is his employee. A success in her own right. An affair with her would result in her reputation being ruined as people think she slept her way to the top.
    Add to all of this a recently dead father who's will requires Tyler to marry within the year or risk losing everything. If he chooses a random woman to playact a marriage he risks losing all chances with Bella. If he asks Bella he risks ruining her life. Caught between a rock and a hard place Tyler has to decide what to do.

    I enjoyed the book, not as good as the first one, because this one was very repetitive with a lot of flashbacks to the first book, losing a lot of pages. Then, the end was a rush, leaving the reader with many questions unanswered and without a beautiful Italian wedding. Is it a cliffhanger to another book?? I don't know. But I felt like losing my time reading it and my money.

    This book just kept going in circles for me to the point where I was having a hard time reading it. I found I was re-reading sentences over again because they seemed fragmented not fluid. Like I was trying to make sense of what was being said. 🤷‍♀️. The plot was basically Tyler and Bella chasing each other around (making me dizzy). Tyler wanting to get close but Bella pushes him away while fighting her own heart. They eventually surrender to their desires and then push each other away again. It ends in a cliffhanger with them on the outs, again.

    I found this book more enjoyable to read. There was more to the story. Plot holes like his father’s will start to make more sense. Tyler and Bella start coming together more and stop pushing each other away less. The one thing that takes away from the story for me is at the beginning when the characters were having flashbacks about previous conversations that happened in the first book. I don’t understand why the author couldn’t have just paraphrased the thoughts instead of repeating them word for word. We all read the first book and didn’t need to rehash it again. I think the series should have been a duet instead of a trilogy.

    After the second book I am intrigued enough by the cliffhanger and invested enough in the story to read the third book.
