This simple story - about looking for solutions when you want the same thing that a sibling or friend might want - encourages dialogue and taking some quiet personal time, maybe just a few moments, to relax and see clearly - perhaps from the other person’s desires as well as your own. Reading the story with your children can provide a reference point before disagreements over wanting the same thing get out of hand. The story also comes with a song on video and a recipe for the orange muffins in the story. Lovely lesson and illustrations!

Cute story with important teachings. This book provides a good model for taking some space when you need it and coming back to the situation ready to listen to each other and solve problems.

We have so loved learning about the orange solution from this book and it is a fun and lighthearted reminder in our family to listen to each other when things get intense! I love how accessible the story is to the children, they deeply feel this pain of not being able to get what you want, feeling jealous and angry and it is such a relief to know there is another way. Beautiful book - thank you!

I loved this book. I'm a professional Mediator and we use this scenario - with the orange - to show that, with a collaborative approach, conflicts can often be resolved with a win-win solution.
In the book children are shown how this might work, with lovely illustrations and a beautiful story.
    Just wonderful!

I love all of Celine's books so far, and this again is a sweet and simple, practical story that my kids love. It's become a household phrase... an orange solution! Beautiful drawings that are really evocative of that child like innocence.
