She needs a date for her brothers wedding and he needs his brother off his back. When she pushes a little far and ends up crushed. His secrets and past come knocking and she decides to get off the train for good. Cord won't stop until he can convince her this wasn't all an act.

    I love a guy that would do anything to protect his family, and that is Savage to a T. Cord is good at his job, both bounty hunting and train conducting. He’s been dreaming of Montana and telling his brother all about her. Montana has a thing for Cord, but doesn’t think he is interested. Throw in her sister and his brother, the whole thing is a mess with a HEA. Even grandma is happy in the end!

    This is a pretty short story (which I knew going into it). There is a lot thrown at the reader though...some makes sense...some doesn't. I like the age-gap and the wrong side of the tracks angle however - the bounty hunter part that was thrown in didn't make a ton of sense. Also, the wealth issue was there and then it wasn't? The ending was super sweet. In my opinion that was the best part of the story!.

    Amazing story. Montana has been watching him since she started working on the train. He’s handsome, tall and rugged. Also, Cord is older than she is. Her sister invites him to be Montana’s plus one for their brother’s wedding leaving her embarrassed. Cord asks her to help him with his brother, Flint, who’s on board that day. They both have been the target for people trying to set them up with other people and he thinks they could help each other out. She meets Flint in one of the train cars and takes him to Cord. When she leaves the engine to get drinks he lays into Flint who tells him he needs to tell Montana his secret. She returns after he has kicked Flint out and he tries to tell her about himself but, they get distracted. When they are interrupted she heads through the train and encounters Flint and he drops hints about Cord. Montana forces him to come straight out and tell her the truth. When Cord finds out that she knows he understands why she disappeared without a grace. He doesn’t have her number or know how to find her. A couple weeks go by and a friend unknowingly gives all the information he needs to see Montana and on this particular day he knows where she will definitely be. Can she give them a chance or will she run from Savage?.

    You can never go wrong with a Rugged Mountain story where the men are tall and broad chested. They know the meaning of being a gentlemen, protecting their families, and small town values. Money means nothing to them only hard work, the love of a good woman, and family were all that matters. Rob's job as a bounty hunter during the off season the train did not run kept the mountain safe for everyone. Even if it gave him a reputation of being a dangerous man, and Montana had no idea of his side line of work. She was shocked, when she learned his other occupation. Being the rich girl in town would, she be able to get past his bounty hunting to find a future with Rob? An awesome short romance perfect for an afternoon break or before bedtime.
