Slivered Hearts (Mending Broken Hearts Book 2) Kindle Edition

3.8 3.8 out of 5 stars 16 ratings

Mending broken hearts, one love story at a time.

Drew:

I’ve trusted no one since I discovered my girlfriend was messing around with my best friend behind my back. That’s a pain I never want to revisit. I thought I’d put it all behind me, but I’ve recently reconnected with them both. To describe the situation as awkward would be an understatement. I told myself I was better off on my own

Then I met Tess, and she breathed life back into me. She’s the gorgeous answer to a prayer I wasn’t aware I’d offered. I realized I was tired of going through the motions and truly wanted to live my life again. But will my current circumstances make it impossible for me to get there? Can I put the past behind me enough to embrace my future? Am I willing to risk it all for the woman I love?

Tess:

Focus on work. That’s what everyone back home told me to do. I needed a fresh start, so I moved a million miles away in the hopes of leaving all the pain behind me. My new job is working out and I’ve enrolled in some classes to help me move up the ladder. These changes in my life seem to be working, at least on the outside. But I know I’ll never really be whole again.

A chance meeting with Drew has the potential to change my life again if I let it. Strong, kind, handsome, smart, and a bit brooding, he’s everything I’ve ever dreamed about before my life went off the rails. Is he too good to be true? Can we focus on each other enough to keep all the drama out of our relationship?

I hadn't read the first book in this series, so I got it on KU and read it, and i feel better about this book.
I highly encourage anybody who reads this book to read book 1 first or you will have lingering questions on the back story.

Here's what I love- the characters are real.
They have fears and the vocalize them.
They have lives that interrupt their dating life.
They have emotions that get out of hand and you wanna smack them around until they see reason.
It's a great read. Good length book, and it kept me interested, especially after reading book 1,
Hoping the epilogue means there'll be another book in this series.
