From New York Times & USA Today Bestselling Author, Deborah Bladon.

The New York Times Bestselling Series PULSE

Part One

Jessica Roth dumped her boyfriend, moved to New York and wanted desperately to start her new life off with a bang - a literal mind-blowing, soul-shaking night of pure, raw, memory making sex. She thought her one time chance encounter with attorney, Nathan Moore, in a hotel room would become a jumping point for her exciting, single and adventurous life in the city. One night turned into two, into four, and into more – always at the same place, always at the same time – no last names, no personal details, and absolutely no complications. What Jessica doesn't count on is that in Nathan's world boundaries are made to be pushed. He wanted her in ways he promised he never would. She wanted him in ways she couldn't admit. When their lives ultimately collide outside the walls of the hotel room, Jessica is forced to face the truth about the only man who has ever made her pulse race and her body ache with unadulterated pleasure.

First I'll dispense with the criticisms:

It was too short and I really would have liked more of a defined timeline and more of Jessica's interactions with her roommates. Even some more time spent talking about the kids she cooks for and their nanny. There were many opportunities to make this book meaty-er something substantial. I was left feeling like I knew Jessica's story but I didn't know her as a person at all.

I also have issues with these "serials" or "episodes" that a lot of the independent writers are using. There is a right and a wrong way to do this. Cliffhanger or no the author should always make the length of the serial worth while and this one didn't achieve that. I was left thinking: "That's it?" The ending seemed predictable and I originally thought: "Okay, double life, what's so new about that?"

Basically if you're going to make a cliffhanger, try something a little less cliche so the reader isn't left feeling cheated. I almost don't care about the characters enough to continue because there's no mystery left. Why would I end up buying the next in the serial?

Well, luckily I was curious enough to go ahead and download the preview of the next in the series and that interested me enough to continue. I will tell you I am pleased so far.

    Now to the good stuff:

Absolutely worth the buy! I loved it! It was entertaining and steamy, plus there were a lot of great lines too. Despite my dislikes of this book I couldn't help but get into the plot of this book.

Small town girl goes to the big city to make a new life for herself after a devastating breakup. So she stays with a friend and of course Jessica is introduced to Manhattan nightlife. She decides she needs a one night stand to assert her independence and put the past behind her. Only she finds something more than she was looking for in Nathan Moore her "random" one night stand.

Feelings develop between the two and a "relationship" begins to emerge. But will Nathan be able to commit?

A fun afternoon whirlwind of a read. I really enjoyed myself with this one and I look forward to completing the series.

I questioned myself off the bat right after I purchased this. Especially because it was 4 books. I will be honest, it took me a little bit to get into it, but I have to say, the author kept everything at a good pace. Some books tend to have things happen too quick or too slow, this wasn't one of those. The pace was just right. The author definitely ended each of the books with a really good cliffhanger which made you want to continue on. Nathan and Jessica start off with a hard to believe beginning, but the draw is everything after their chance meeting. Their chemistry is undeniable and addicting. There are so many twists in these books that just when you think you've figured it out, the author goes and spins your mind. I spent the whole weekend reading this series and it was totally worth it. Would I say it was awesome...no, but was I disappointed with my purchase...absolutely not. It was a weekend spent with Nathan and Jessica and it was well worth it.

This is a really great and hot story. Beginning as a one night stand, the story develops into a bigger relationship between Nathan and Jess. The difference in this story is that is he who begins to want more from their relationship and not the girl. She accepted the rules between them from the first day trying not to dream about something else, but when he meets her at a bar, chatting with another guy, he gets completely territorial and gives her a deep kiss. That was the begging of a new step between them, but when you start to think the story is turning smooth, there's a situation that changes everything!!!! I won't give the details, you just have to read it. The sex is great, so the book is worth it, I strongly recommend it, and now...... I'm going for the second one

. I read all the books at once. This review is for all 4 books. The books ended in cliffhangers and had lots of drama driving the story forward. However I can’t understand why this had to be 4 short books, it might as well been one.
The characters drove me crazy, at one point I hated Nathan and a little later I liked him. The same for Jessica, all the times she said this is the last time, or I have to go only to end up in his arms, I just wanted to shake her. There’s also a lot of xxx in this book, like A LOT! At times it seemed like that’s the only thing holding them together, almost every fight ended with some hot stuff. But I finished it, although after a while I started skimming through the xxx, it was just so repetitive. I still enjoyed some of it, not sure why.

Love all of Deborah's stuff! She is in my top 3 authors list! Love how she writes and makes you feel the book rather than just giving you something to read. I love even though she writes different series they all tie in together so even though you finish a series you still get some interactions with that character through other stories! This one had a heck of a cliffy! Deborah is good for those! Pick this one up as well as the rest of her stuff! It is well worth it! Support your self published authors and get their books into as many hands as possible!

Hot story. Great descriptions of the settings without losing pace of the plot. I liked the way we meet the main characters and are plunged into the story straightaway.

I also liked the way the reader is kept just enough in the dark to wonder what's going on but not enough to chuck the Kindle aside and wander to the fridge, survey the dismal contents and ponder whether or not pickles and ketchup would make a good sandwich combination. And the ending - nice one! Because I read reviews here first I knew a twist was coming and guessed it, but it still played out very well. I admit I bought part two after that.

Not sure about the dude on the cover though. His widow's peak is very distracting.

I was hooked from page one! The story was fast paced and full of steamy scenes. I knew from the start that Jessica couldn't last long with the "no strings" arrangement and I knew that Nathan would slowly cave as well but the cliffhanger was something else! Can't wait to continue this story.

This author is a real fave.
    Her books are outstanding.
Stories are incredible, love how they all entwine somewhat. Characters pop up and you see them link through the books.

The main leads always resonate well, Deborah spends time making sure you feel like you know them!

I will buy every one of her books, every time.
