Do-Over #0.5-2

The Do-Over Boxed Set

Rate this book
Mallory (Fluffy), Persephone (Perky), Fiona (Feisty), and Hastings (Hasty) come from the small town of Anderhill, Massachusetts, with lives that take sudden turns as they get surprise “do-overs” when it comes to second chance love.

This boxed set features New York Times bestselling author Julia Kent’s first three books in the series, starting with the prequel, Little Miss Perfect, which takes place ten years before Book 1, when Mallory Monahan and Will Lotham competed for valedictorian in high school.

The nerd and the quarterback have a tantalizing encounter, but what happens when they meet ten years later is unbelievable…

Which brings us to Fluffy — how Will and Mallory reconnect is a tale of mishaps, misunderstandings, and Mallory’s innocent mistake in thinking a job on Craigslist for a “fluffer” meant a house designer.

Oops.

This boxed set continues with Perky, another second-chance “do-over” for Persephone and Parker. Five years ago, he released very, very private photos that turned Perky into a social media sensation in the worst way possible. Hurt and betrayed, she’s blocked him from her life and her heart.

But what if he didn’t do it?

And surprise! He’s a member of Mallory and Will’s wedding party, too.

Second chances and do-overs never felt so good…

The Do-Over Boxed Set is a romantic comedy binge read. Get ready for a massive laughfest escape!

Little Miss Perfect
Mallory is the perfectly endearing awkward geek girl. All brain and almost no social graces. I recognize her because I’ve been her. Will might as well be king of the school. He’s the smart jock who seems to have everything going for him. This quirky little encounter in their school parking lot is charming and funny, and makes me very excited to read the rest of their story.
Fluffy
This book starts out light and silly and one of the funniest things I’ve ever read. Then it goes deeper as it digs into those angsty teenaged emotions that still plague us even as adults. Mallory is this beautifully neurotic geek girl who just resonates with my own social awkwardness. I felt an instant kinship with her and felt every one of her pains and dreams. I would have given my left arm to know what Will was thinking. But even though Mallory misinterprets a lot of it, his actions convey what he feels pretty well. I loved watching this pair spar with one another. The double entendre game in this book is strong. (I’m almost afraid of what the author’s search history looked like while putting this book together.) And after reading the teaser in the epilogue, I’m rather desperate to get my hands on the next book about this group of friends.
Perky
Julia Kent is another author who has the ability to make me both laugh and cry simultaneously. My sides hurt from laughing so hard at this book, but where it had the greatest impact on me was in the bigger, deeper emotions. Perky (Persephone) and Parker’s second chance is a spinning emotional roller-coaster ride filled with everything from crack-pot harebrained ideas to uncomfortable truths. And it’s all topped off with more innuendo than you can shake a stick at. When our leading couple finally make peace with the past, you can feel the universe sigh – it’s that precious. The lead in to Feisty makes me just a little ravenous to get my hands on it.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author.

From the very beginning these stories were slapstick hilarity along with deep down feels in every single story:

Little Miss Perfect:
Short and sweet! If you've read Fluffy, this will give you some behind the scenes of the last day of their senior year. Even then, Will had the power to turn Mal into mush and the oh so innocent meanderings and banter between them both had me finishing this one lickety split!

Fluffy:
If I could give this more stars I most definitely would! Julia Kent is known for her quirky, funny as heck stories. If you have read her Shopping for the Billionaire or Random series, you already know the humor she can pull out of her characters, how she can take some really random story from the internet (or heck probably real life) and bring them to life in her stories so much so that you have to google them to see if something like she mentions actually exists (and most often they do). Fluffy is funny...rolling off the treadmill while you are reading funny....doubled over in laughter until tears run down your face funny. I found myself wanting to message her every five minutes because my funny bone was just tickled over and over again. But wait....as funny as this story was...I found it to be about so much more than just humor for humor's sake. Okay...not knowing what she was walking into taking a job as a fluffer is hilarious. But the back story about Mallory and Will (who I will readily admit has now surpassed Declan in my affection, which I never thought possible) is about expectations...of the past, present and future. It is about how some experiences in your past can shape the person you are even when you can't admit that they have. It is about finding the strength to just be who you are, who you are meant to be and accepting that that person is okay, that there is nothing wrong with who you are or the choices you have made. My heart was completely engaged in Mallory and Will's story as well as some of the other characters we come across. I will never, EVER look at Fluffernutters the same again. You will absolutely love this couples' "come to Jesus" moments and if you don't swoon several times in this story along with all the laughter then I have no more words. I could write a book, but I'd rather you just read it and get the complete joy of the dysfunction that is Mallory as she navigates the road into adulthood.

Perky:
What happens when the man you love betrays you in the worst of ways? Perky (or Persephone as she was when we first met her in Fluffy) is quirky...but in the best of ways. She is Mallory's best friend (along with Fiona) but she has her issues. Mainly being the butt of a joke that wasn't a joke. Despite everything she has done in the last 5 years to erase the pain, it is constantly with her and the meme that started it all still floats around in some people's minds. Never does she expect to run into the man who caused all that pain. But one thing is clear, she has nothing but revenge on her mind. The banter between Perky and Parker is always fun and the chemistry between them is so very clear, but how can you forgive? How can you forget? While always fun to read the banter, the wild, off the wall facts (yes google was my friend quite a bit in this story lol), there was a whole lot of depth in this story. Can you ever love again when you know you found the one you were truly meant for? The right for privacy in such a large social media world? Does that even exist in this day and age? Perky must learn to forgive and she must learn to use her power for good. Will she? But I will forever remember the video of the spider and that will have me gasping with laughter...and cringing because....well you will just have to read it to know what I'm talking about. And for the record, Will reinforces why he will forever be my Julia Kent book boyfriend :)

In the end, Julia Kent gives us Heart and Soul and laughs that make reading this set worth every minute.

I haven’t laughed so hard in a long time! Julia Kent invites you into the crazy world of Mallory, Will, Perky and Fiona. There are friends from high school who somehow stayed connected over the years. Mallory had a schoolgirl crush over Will, the star quarterback. She is being the nerdy girl with crazy hair made them opposite in every way. Their story is crazy fun and Mallory’s introspection and constant questioning of what is, makes it very interesting and deeply heartfelt. Another fantastic read by Julia Kent! I can’t wait for Perky and Fiona’s stories, I am sure they will be as entertaining.
Perky is like a triple shot of espresso of crazy, spiked with a dash of reality and topped with a lot of love! Perky reconnects with the love of her life who posted her picture on the internet five years ago. This is where they take you on this crazy, out of control rollercoaster ride that is their story! I loved that the story continues right after the end of Fluffy and will takes you to Fiona’s story which should be next. The love that Perky and Parker have been real, but can it withstand time and the issue surrounding their breakup? Another great story by Julia and I can’t wait to read what’s next for this band of merry characters! It is the must read of the summer!!!
Fiona Aka FEISTY IS a kindergarten teacher and one day she has to defend her kids against an enraged dad. The child's uncle is none other than Chris "Fletch" Fletcher her arch enemy from high school. He is the reason she is called feisty, because of something that happened and she best him up. What started out as a not so friendly encounter ended up being so much more. You have to read this story to join this latest couple on their journey of enlightenment and China's discovery of herself. A magnificent story, full of laughter and hilarious moments that only Julia. Can come up with! I will never forget the bear incident! Funny, witty, sexy and so much more can describe this story and all the shenanigans our crazy group of friends can get themselves into! Another winner for Julia Kent!
Hastings is Mallory's sister, she is smart, successfully leading a whirlwind life in California with her husband Burke. One day when she reaches the pinnacle of success, it all comes tumbling down, her life has she knows it is over. Somehow her husband defrauded a lot of people and implicated her along with his scheme. Broken and defeated the only option she has is to return to her parent’s house and small-town life. Hasty's journey to redemption and enlightenment has her struggling with herself and coming to some deep realizations about her past life and actions. Her only constant in this mess is Ian McCrory, ever present billionaire trying to help her with her new reality. A magnificent ending to this series, the girls will have you laughing out loud at their shenanigans and their caring souls come through the whole story. I volunteered to review this arc.

Fluffy
Fluffy was a hilarious romantic comedy, about missed connections and second chances. The banter between Will and Mallory was just exquisite and delightfully refreshing.

But as much as I enjoyed Will, Mallory, and all the side characters, I didn't love them. The humour was great but became repetitive and a little too silly for me as the book progressed.

There's something missing when I read this one. The book wasn't bad it just wasn't the type of comedy I prefer. There were moments that made me laugh but it felt like it was trying to be smart.

Perky
I've read Julia's previous books and I've used to her writing, so I know what to expect in this one. This book was just so smart, as funny and entertaining as the previous ones!

Perky's trust in Parker was torn to shreds when she believed that he posted a topless picture of her on the internet. He has always claimed his innocence but Perky just couldn't get her head around the fact that he may not have done it. Five years later and the pair are reunited for Will and Mallory's rehearsal dinner. She still couldn't forget what had happened five years ago and she have no intention to let it go so she plan for a revenge game. But the attraction, chemistry and love between them is still strong, would she go through with it?

Parker is something special. I loved just how deeply he loved Perky and the lengths he was willing to go to prove it. He never gave up on her or them. He was willing to prove to Perky he's not the guy she thinks he was.

The only thing was how long it took Perky to work through her issues. At times, she was borderline immature. I wanted more growth between Perky and Parker and less dwelling on the past. The story struggled to move forward. I would love to see more interaction between Perky and Parker rather than Perky hanging out with her best friends the whole time plotting for revenge. I mean, I love their friendship and dynamics together, despite the jokes. Every time Perky and Parker interact it would be her blaming him and dwelling in the past.

Despite all of that, the bantering between the characters was just brilliant! Not just between Parker & Perky, but all of the characters. And I'm so interested to read Feisty's story!

Feisty
So I've read both books before Feisty and it was very funny. But this, compared to the others, is more serious in my opinion. And I think it's because Feisty is different from Perky and Mallory. She's more complex, more complicated. She's trying to find herself, whether to choose between her old self or her new self or just to combine both.

Come Fletch, the person who made her want to forget her old self and where the name Feisty come from. It did take a long time for the two to give together a chance though. I think that was a bit unnecessary, with Feisty's indecisiveness and she should have been more feisty I guess.

Overall, it was a fine read for me! Julia Kent writes enjoyable rom-coms.

The Do-Over Boxset is a fabulous adventure into the lives of two ordinary women who chose to become extraordinary through their love of friends, family, and their soulmate. If nothing else can be said about a person, let us revel in the amount of love they spread to those around them. Love has the power to change a life, a community, a town, a state, and even a nation. Never underestimate the power and the beauty of pure love.

Fluffy is a mega heartwarming and wonderfully epic journey into discovering that being who you really are whether you are in high school or adulthood brings you and those around you immense joy. The haters can move to Mars as far as I am concerned. There is nothing more freeing and more wonderful then following the path that your heart chooses. Only then will you know absolute freedom and boundless happiness. Maybe the present isn’t always roses and wine, but it is real and it is 100% you. What more can we truly ask for?

Perky is a hilariously addictive thrill ride of the heart. Just when you think you have things figured out, here comes another twist in our lovely story that throws things into disarray. I savored every minute of watching these characters come to terms with their real feelings while being a helping hand and open heart for each other. Nothing is as powerful or as beautiful as a true friend. However, in the end, the only person who can truly pick out the solemn truth about our circumstances is our own heart. As we grapple with our feelings and how to live with them, we must remember to see the world around us through our heart. No matter how painful the truth is to see sometimes, it is our own only saving grace.

Julia Kent has gifted us with a fantastically delightful and at times a tongue in cheek masterpiece that is sure to touch everyone on some level. I was pleasantly surprised t find myself utterly enthralled with her spectacular creativity and enchanting characters who are sure to leave you in stitches and tears at the same time. I savored every moment spent in this incredible world full of very real people who are sure to make you feel and remember them long after this story has ended. I don’t know about you, but I am excited about the next book in this new series. I look forward to learning so much more about Persephone and her complex relationship with her old flame. Let the fun times begin.

Little Miss Perfect (prequel)
This is the wonderful prequel to Fluffy, and takes place ten years previously when Mallory and Will are seniors in High School. I love to read the backstories of characters so that I can get to understand them better and this book really brings them to life. Looking forward to Mallory and Will's story in Fluffy.

Fluffy (Do-Over #1)
Mallory is a disaster zone - basically if it can go wrong it probably will. And who knew that a professional fluffer was not someone who staged houses to sell but a facilitator on a porn movie. Definitely not Mallory! And if it could get worse, the house she ended up in was raided by the police and it belonged to her unrequited love, Will Lotham. This story was funny, sexy and smart with some real oops moments that make you laugh out loud. The book skips along at a good pace and the characters and secondary characters have wonderful interaction, but when you have friends with the name Perky and Feisty, you can imagine what kind of trouble that brings.

Perky (Do-Over #2)
Five years ago, Perky's life fell apart. In one day she lost the love of her life, her privacy, her dignity and her anonymity in the world. One photo that turned her into a meme that would be plastered over the internet and ruin her life. More importantly, it was Parker, her best friend and true love who posted it; well it must have been - he took it and was the only other person to have a copy of it. And now, five years later, he has walked into her life again, still as gorgeous and hot as ever and still apparently in love with her, and more importantly still proclaiming his innocence.
This book is so smart and witty that you really wish that Perky and her friends Mallory and Fi, were your friends too. It's clever with plenty of laugh out loud moments and gut wrenching lows that make your heart hurt. Although it is a standalone, and can be read as such, it is worth reading Mallory's story in Fluffy. You won't regret either.

I adore Julia's work!!....

We have the prequel to Mallory's story in Little Miss Perfect which is a quick insight to Mallory and her long-time crush on the last day of high school 🥰 4stars.

Then we have Mallory's full-length story in Fluffy, what do you do when after 10years your high school crush is back in town? Especially when you're caught in the middle of an illegal porn set?...
I laughed so much at this! Mallory is smart yet not the most savvy in real life! She's also cute, sweet and funny - love her!
Then we have Will, the object of her infatuation and he's only became more handsome and more interesting as the years went on!
Throw in some hilarious friends, family who will have you groaning in embarrassment whilst slowly slinking out the door and hoping no one notices!
These two have a connection that will put a big ole sweet smile on your face, attraction that will have you blushing and humour that will have you rolling, and you have an excellent book that is easily re-readable and most definitely recommend to others
They definitely belong together 🥰

And then we have Perky! That girl sends me to the fair!!
Persephone & Parker were together for yonks and everything was honkey dorey!...until a naked picture of Perky ends up online and Parker denies all knowledge. He swears blind it wasn't him, but that's the end of those two - their feelings say different though!!

Fast forward 5 years and they're brought together for Mal & Will's wedding....
Cue the laughs, the rage, the undeniable attraction, can the truth be revealed and can they both recover from the loss of trust because it's not only Perky who's been hurt - Will loved & trusted her and she didn't think twice of believing it was him!
Loved these two 🥰

Another win from Julia Kent!

Terrific Boxset Opportunity!!

******* Little Miss Perfect *******
Great Series Setup!

We meet the high school senior versions of Mallory and Will as they prepare for their last exam and vie for the honor of valedictorian. Pranks, family pressure and friends set the tone for what happens ten years later.

******* Fluffy *******
Romantic Comedy at its Best!!

Mallory stages houses and is a bit naive. When a Craigslist ad appears to be in her area of expertise, she is almost arrested due to the misunderstanding. Her heart-throb Will from high school happens to be the one to keep her from being arrested.

We get glimpses of their interactions ten years ago and learn that Will appreciates Mallory’s intelligence and works to raise her self-esteem. Romantic, humorous and brilliant read which is highly entertaining!!

******* Perky *******
Quirky and fun, this is an entertaining read!!

Parker and Perky were serious five years ago. When Parker posted a risqué photo, he had taken of her and it went viral, beside the frustration and annoyance, Perky had her heart broken. Except Parker claims he didn’t do it…. How do you prove a negative?

When these two are in the wedding party for mutual friends the sparks fly. Your brain says you can’t trust him, but your heart still wants him. Quirky and fun, this is an entertaining read!!

Two full length books and one novella in one convenient box set. Hold on to your bootstraps, you’re in for a hilarious good time.

The novella, “Little Miss Perfect” is the perfect set up to start off the series. You get introduced to all the main characters in their high school years so you can see the history they all have.

“Fluffy” had me laughing so much, I had to put it down to wipe the tears from my eyes. Mallory and Will were hilarious and I loved their banter. Their reunion was hilarious and had me cackling. If you didn’t know what a Fluffer was before this book, you will now. And these two are adorable together. Their wit and innuendos are priceless.

“Perky” is more rom-com hilariousness. I love a second chance romance and when you can add some humor to it, I’m in heaven. Perky and Parker, even after the five years apart, the chemistry between the two is still super hot. Perky is still super hurt after what happened, which she should be, and when she finally gives Parker a chance to explain, it all clicks.

Don’t miss out on this box set. The connection between the couples is great. And the friendships between the women? Genuine and you can tell they have each other’s backs no matter what.

This set is an awesome deal. The first two and the beginning novella in a set. I have read this whole series and all the books are fun and entertaining reads. This is a definite addition to your TBR list at a great price.

Little Miss Perfect 5 stars
Read this originally as chapters. The release of a novella is a pleasant surprise. This story is background for the newest series starting with Fluffy. These stories are fun and the humor is outstanding. The best part this novella is free at the moment. Grab it

Fluffy 5 stars
Another laugh out loud, fun filled fest by Julia Kent. I loved this book and laughed through most of it. The romance, slapstick comedy and interactions abound with the author’s signature snark and wit. Have fun with this one, well worth the read.

Perky 5 stars
Amazingly, fun read, my favorite so far. One discretionary lapse, changes the lives of those closest, and mayhem ensues. Julia Kent’s signature humor, snark and laugh out loud idioms are abundant in this newest book. There is stream, romance and HEA. Another top read, add this to your “top read” list.

I received this set with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.

In this set we get the first 3 books technically. The prequel and the first 2 books. Each of these story will have you craving more. If you have never read a Julia Kent book shame on you, get on that now. This book will have you searching out all of her work. For example Fluffy: In this book we meet Mallory "Mal" Monahan and Will Lotham. Mallory needs a new job and she believes she has just found one right up her alley. That is until she house is raided by the cops and she finds out the people who hired her aren't exactly on the up and up. To make matters worse the house that she believes she is hired to redecorate is none other than her high school crush Will Lotham. Will can't believe that he is seeing Mal after all these years. She was the school valedictorian now possible porn star. Will these two figure it out and have a HEA or will this just be a wrong place wrong time thing?

I would highly recommend this set to anyone and everyone.

Little Miss Perfect—A fun little prequel to Fluffy and the characters in the Do Over series. It is an angsty look back at that all important High School crush. Makes you want to dive into the rest.
Fluffy--Julia Kent has hit it out of the park once again. I laughed so hard my sides hurt. I think we can all relate to questioning our lives before our 10 year high school reunion, high school crushes, and the fear of feeling less than even if you’re were the smartest kid in school. So grab your marshmallow fluff, your Urban Dictionary and prepare for a wild, hysterical ride.
Perky--There is a fine line between love and hate especially when it is someone you thought was your soulmate. Perky became the internet viral joke that just kept going due to Parker. Five years later he is back. This book is full of feels. Once again Julia Kent knocks it out of the park. Grab a up of coffee and get Perky !!

This is such a fun set to read! I read all of the books on their own and have now just enjoyed them all together. The set consists of the prequel novella Little Miss Perfect which is a decade before Fluffy takes place...so basically the dreaded high school issues! It tells about Mallory the nerd girl and Will the star athlete.

Will and Mallory meet again in Fluffy in what has to be the most embarrassing reunions of all time! Be careful when reading this, I laughed out very loud while in the doctor's waiting room!!

Second chances come again in Perky. Persephone aka Perky and Parker will have to figure out how to be around each other at her best friend's wedding. Can she let the past go?

Well done Julia, I always know when you have a new release it will be a winner in my book!

I read each of these books individually, it great that they are now together in a boxed set and you can read them all at once. They are true Julia Kent form, they have you laughing, aahing, sniffling with tears in your eyes. There are sexy scenes, embarrassing scenes and scenes with love, strength and friendship! Little Miss Perfect sets the stage for Fluffy and Perky. You will love the female leads in each of these books and there is another book after these called Hasty, you need to read that one as well and will fall in love with it also. I recommend this series, if you are a Julia Kent fan then they are a must read. Thank you Julia Kent for the ARC of this boxset.

This entire series is a great read...

I loved each book, with its original, realistic characters that are just hilarious in their misadventures.

Julia Kent is inventive in how to make bad situations hilarious, with texting typos, a fluffer in bed with fluff, spending some delicious time in the coat closet, fake beaver shots posing as Fiona’s Fake Flaming Lips, talk about “verbing” someone else...

... & the list goes on & on...

Worth reading!

I got this boxset free as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
