He lurks in shadows and mystery at Camp Shifter, coming out only during DarkNight, the wild, bacchanalian free-for-all where anything goes.

Anything.

No one has seen him in the daylight, no one knows where he lives, no one knows his name–and the shifter nicknamed DarkLover by women, DarkDude by men, will do anything to keep it that way.

Andie Cumbington has been waiting her whole life for The Letter. One of the few shifters who is ecstatic about her newfound status, the chestnut-haired ballerina bear shifter arrives for her month at Camp Shifter with unbridled excitement. On her first DarkNight, she finds wild passion and–to her surprise–so much more, with a stranger who touches her heart as much as he lights up her body.

And then he’s gone, back into the shadows, hidden.

Exactly where he wants to be.

Craving his touch with an insatiable desire, Andie can’t let go. She always wanted the roll in the hay, but she never imagined the passion would be so intense.

Fate drives her to find love.

Then a simple errand turns into mortal danger for Andie, and an impossible choice as DarkLover must overcome his biggest fear in order to save the woman he loves.

But will it be too late?

I’ve read all the previous books written by D. J. Jennings, and have loved them all. The characters are well developed and interesting. The main part of this story is Shifter Camp, and fated mates.
David has gone thru a terrible tragedy, and is self sacrificing his life because of this tragedy. He releases his urges by being known as Dark Lover.
Andie is a freshly turned shifter, and has arrived at the camp for the training. She has heard about Dark Lover, and is hoping to spend a night with him. She is unaware that David has spotted her, on arrival to the camp. He plans to spend the night with her.
Several episodes occur between them, but David continues to feel guilty about the tragedy. When an accident occurs, involving Danielle and Andie, David realizes that he is close to losing her. He does manage to save her, but disappears in the process.
He eventually returns and the couple obtains their HEA.
This book is an entertaining read, and I recommend it.

We can't rewrite the past, but we do sometimes get second chances to mend what's broken with love if we're willing to accept the opportunity. This book is a testament to the power of love...something we all can use more of. This story is emotional, the characters are wonderful and the climax 😉 is heartwarming. I am so looking forward to more Camp Shifter books. They are delightful! Try them and enjoy!

Huge Julia Kent fan, love the Random Acts series so of course I had to read one of these. Similar writing style thought she would switch it up a little. Not as funny as hoped but certainly not a drag. Lots of hot sex, action , adventure, drama and heartache. So follows the Kent format there. All & all a decent standalone.

What fun books in this series. I admit I was skeptical at first about whether or not I wanted to read this series. I loved Random Acts of Crazy serie! Darla was quirky and an interesting character, but I wasn’t so sure what her writing would be like. Julia Kent did a great job. Read this series for what it is, a fun, easy read that lets you immerse yourself in the shifter world.

Julia Kent writing as DJ Jennings has hit it out of the park again in the third book of her Camp Shifters series. From the moment you return to camp you are drawn into the dynamics of the different individuals, both long time residents and those just learning about their dual nature.

Fans of Julia’s Random series will love the nods to their favorite characters and the inspiration DJ draws from her own story.

I liked this particular book and enjoyed reading this entire book series. This book was shorter than the other two books, but still an amazing journey all the same.

I love this third book in the Camp Shifter series.
I really feel like I know the Camp now and this book added so many layers of detail to the characters.
Andie had been desperate to get to Camp Shifter, she had a longing to meet the mysterious Dark Lover. Her pull to him is an obsession.
The Dark Lover sees her as she arrives and that sets him on a course for obsession too. He has only ever spent one night with someone, but his attraction to Andie soon breaks that rule.
The Dark Lover has suffered great loss, can Andie be the one to break the chuckle of sorrow and despair.
I loved these characters, the depth of feeling that flows from the page had me captivated.
I loved the in-house nod to The Random Acts of Fantasy book. A great line that made me snigger.
I highly recommend this book, series and author.

I loved this book! I was expecting to laugh out loud for most of it and instead I found myself in tears for many of the end chapters. This is a book of the coming together of two souls, one of which has been through more pain than I can imagine. The other soul learning that pain too! Amongst the self discovery there is still the laughs, with Roscoe the weasel and Mavis the chicken providing lots of light relief!
