    World-building is exceptionally well done, and very descriptive as well as unique and was well blended together it was just an incredibly well done job. Characters were very well developed so much so that you came to like and care about these characters. The plot and story line are well written, and is wrapped up into a clear and concise closing. The storyline follows the main character Alice chasing leads to solve the murders of her parents, and who she is and what she is. She's a whole lot more than a witch what I don't know I have to keep reading the rest of the books in this series to find out as will you. I love this book so much so that I am purchasing the other three books in the series. I highly recommend this book for those who love stories that completely takes them away from reality and grabs ahold of you tight and refuses to let you go. Warning it is a page-turner and midnight oil burner book. It is so full of twists and turns, and scary thrills that you are unable to figure out what is coming next or what is around the next corner. It has fast-paced action, mystery, and plenty of the supernatural with witches, Druids, vampires, fae, demons, and shifters of all kinds.

    Warning! There is a small cliffhanger in this one, so you might want to have the next book lined up ready to go. It’s about a 3/5 on my trauma scale, so not terrible.

    Alice is being dragged deeper into the mystery of her own heritage, and even as her questions are answered, it causes yet more questions to be asked.
    Forced to team up with Riley Storm, she starts to learn more about who and what she is.
    Meanwhile, she’s assigned a new job with the Paladins- one where she is investigating mysterious deaths involving the Breed, and it’s not long before the investigation leads to some familiar places.

    Alice has some growing up to do in this one, where she has to face some facts, like some of her reactions definitely go back to the betrayal she suffered, and that she has to take up some responsibilities- including those involving her abilities. She’s not a particularly quick study, and her impetuous nature makes her take some stupid risks. It’s lucky for her that they mostly pay off!
    We get to meet a few new, and definitely interesting characters in this one, and learn a little more about some old ones. There’s even a little world building ad we start to grasp a little more understanding about Alice’s world.

    It’s an engrossing story, filled with magic (good and bad), corruption, and the fact that everything is not as it appears becomes quickly apparent.
    A thoroughly enjoyable story, this is an urban fantasy for those who enjoy their stories a little darker and more intense.

    Let’s get it out of the way. There were small errors (yes I know it’s UK grammar). Okay now let’s move on.

    Like I said, Alice could grow on me. She’s a little quirky, self-sufficient, and has some huge ball gowns on her, if you know what I mean. There are times when I truly question her need to survive.

    I liked this story. It was very satisfying because she gets all the different bros and deals with all the hassle and harassment and comes out cool. Love her power training. Love the little things. Sam wasn’t a main but was still present too, which I liked. And I’m a sucker for detective work so the case was fun.

    These guys are interesting. Kinda mysterious, kinda cool, kinda mean, kinda indifferent but fascinated. I like that I can’t tell who she’s gonna have a thing with. Overall entertaining.

    Book 2 is even better than book 1! And that’s saying a lot because I loved the first. More mystery, more intrigue but some questions were answered. That of course opened up a whole new set of questions. I love the writing style. I love the characters and I’m definitely hooked!! After this ending, i can’t wait to see where this one goes!! Excellent!!!

    This is a good story concept but...there were instances were author would have something happen but not finish that action in the book so your left hanging at what happened after. Also a lot of "why don't you like me's & what do you want". It just ruined the storyline. Maybe at some point I will try to read the next books. Maybe the author should reread her story to realize all the confusion going on .

    I tried. I was hoping that the second book would be better but for me it’s definitely not. There are so many potholes. I mean, how do you great someone who tried to kidnap you in book one like their your long lost friend in book 2 and then suddenly shocked about his role in your life. Book one held a lot of eventual plot holes but book 2 started off with them right out of the gate.
    Couple that with misspellings all throughout the book, confusing explanations and an FMC who we don’t really get to know or truly warm to, i’m afraid I’m done with this series.
