    I enjoyed this 3rd book. It had lots of plot twists and action scenes. There is a lot scammed in. I did find myself skimming a little bit during the longer winded parts. My biggest problem with it was the lack or growth or development between Savy and Jax. I hate their lack of communication and weird dynamics. I think it would be stronger if they figured that out and it wasn’t left up in the air. I also hated the intimate scene. It felt so forced and wrong. I mean she’s thinking about how much she dislikes him and does want to be owned. Relationships aren’t about “owning”. The ending wasn’t my fave for the same reason. I don’t mind a cliffhanger but the push and pull between the two of them is exhausting at this point. I don’t know if I will read book 4.

    So I’ve been reading this series having stumbled upon it when it as suggested by Kindle. I’m so glad I decided to read it.

    I love the whole concept of Savannah’s identity. It’s really unique! I’ve read a ton of books & none of them had characters like her. I will say one thing about Savannah that drives me nuts but I know is necessary to move the plot along since it runs through the series - she’s so freaking stubborn, sometimes to the point of annoyance! There have been quite a few times that if she had been standing in front of me I would have yelled at her! That she doesn’t accept that she’s Jaxson’s her soul mate aggravates me to no end. However most of what she does, she does in the interest of protecting others but damn, I wish I had a Jaxson! I’d have jumped on that in a heartbeat! Nothing like wolfie soul mates!

    Speaking of Wolfie - I think she’s a great addition to the book as Savannah’s alter ego. She brings humor to the part of the series she’s in.

    Each book has the right level of intensity that doesn’t stress you out but keeps you glued to the pages. I’ve missed many hours of sleep reading these books!

    I’m sure I’m forgetting something but my main message is READ THE SERIES & you MUST start at book 1. ENJOY!

I thought for sure when they finally came together it would be end game but noooo savy still to hard headed. And Jaxson come on Alpha fight harder. Dangers are on the way and she's going to need all the help she can get.

    If you know me, you know I’m an urban fantasy/paranormal romance addict. These books are definitely entering my favorite PNR list alongside the Mercy Thompson series. This series made me go through many emotions. I almost shove the two first books, Wolf Marked and Untamed Fate, by the window so much I was angry against Savannah (She is not even a real person) or the pack. The story is full of surprises, but some are predictable (fate mate), but I like a mix of both.

    If you love character development, you will be pleased since the authors wrote some fascinating character developments, especially Savannah. I love her character so much for it, but also she's loyal, a fighter and she has the best crazy idea alongside her cousin, Casey. That character made me laugh a lot. 🤣 He brings some light to the books. This novel also comes with a grumpy and possessive alpha and you're going to love Jackson. Who doesn’t love a grumpy possessive alpha? 🤷‍♀️ His chemistry with Savannah is 🔥 🔥 🔥. She totally turns his head upside down. 😆 It is hilarious to read.

    Let us not forget the wonderful work they did in creating the world of Magic Side. While reading the four books, you learn a bit more about the world, and how each species lives together in the city. My favorite scene is in Dark Lies with the pack with their legend and the run.

    *It may take some time to get invested, but keep reading.

    The people of Magic Side just can’t catch a break, can they? Plot wise, DARK LIES was an amazing third installment. There was no shortage of action to keep me interested, and the stakes just keep getting higher and higher with more mystery and more lore to discover. If you’re like me and enjoy investigations, this series will certainly cater to your needs! I loved seeing Savy getting closer and more in tune with her wolf and watching her slowly easing into the pack dynamic. The only reason why I feel like I enjoyed this third installment a tiny bit less than the previous two—apart from the fact that I missed Casey on a soul-deep level— was the stall in the relationship between Savy and Jaxson. I guess with a slow burn romance suffering is part of the deal, and there were some baby steps forward, but I find myself so aggravated by Savy’s continued desire to reject her feelings for Jaxson. Ignoring the magical implications of their bond, there’s undeniable attraction and the two have gone through a lot together. After three books, her attitude starts feeling too much like blind stubbornness. Stop fighting it, woman! I might suddenly make a cameo in the next book and take Jaxson for myself.

    Overall, I really enjoyed this third adventure in Magic Side, and I can’t wait for the epic conclusion to this series!

    I absolutely loved this whole series and I can't wait for book 4 to come out in June!! I love the whole universe this series is set in and love running into characters from the other series. It's really well done and you won't want to put this book down once you start.
    I will say that overall I found the main character Savannah to be frustrating at times and a little annoyed by her "don't tell me what to do" attitude. But I think it's supposed to play into the prophecy.
