Beck suffered through the worst kinds of grief and trauma and unfortunately for Eve, she saw him at his lowest, and he decides to make her pay for his perceived vulnerability. I absolutely loved Eve. She was strong and did what was right, even when it was hard. She had a fighting spirit, doesn't let anyone push her around, and never backs down. I really enjoyed the first book, but Dark Delights was totally next level for me - it definitely went in my Faves of 2024 and will probably be one of my favorite books this year.     I don’t even know where to start with this one, lol. Just SO fracking good. I really enjoyed the first book, but Dark Delights was totally next level for me - it definitely went in my Faves of 2024 and will probably be one of my favorite books this year. It had so many things I love from the scminks to the micro tropes, I finally had to put it down after staying up way later than I should at my age, lol 🙈, only to finish it off immediately the next day. The rich, tortured lead whose backstory will make you cry. Seriously got choked up. Beck suffered through the worst kinds of grief and trauma and unfortunately for Eve, she saw him at his lowest, and he decides to make her pay for his perceived vulnerability. I absolutely loved Eve. She was strong and did what was right, even when it was hard. She had a fighting spirit, doesn't let anyone push her around, and never backs down. The chemistry between the two of them is OFF 👏🏼 THE 👏🏼 CHAIN. The best kind of good girl/bad boy vibes ❤️. lt was well written with tons of action and a dash of suspense that completely had me hooked to the end. Some of the boxes it ticked:

Loved seeing characters from the previous books as well as from other series ❤️. Can’t wait for Asher and Winter’s story in Twisted Deeds, but it’s going to be really hard to beat this one!

    I’m usually a die hard book 1 girly but this was EVERYTHING.
    I ate this story up and couldn’t put my kindle down.
    Eve Martino was everything I love in a fmc, head strong yet soft, hard working, and fierce. She loved her family and didn’t let her circumstances stop her from dreaming big.
    Beckett Anderson, the rich prick who was really just a misunderstood, troubled kid who turned into a bully because he didn’t know how else to cope.
    I wanted to hug them both!!! Watching them fall together and realize it has always been each other was swoony, but the added suspense of the robbery and the mystery behind the campus predator added such a good plot!! Icing on the cake was when they had to become roommates??? I mean this was a trope dream! Can’t wait to dive into Asher’s book

    So, I have to hand it to Mila Kane, I didn’t think I’d ever rate one of these dark romances as excellent but I think this book hits it out of the park. She calls out a lot of the MMC behavior, not really normalizing that type of “love.”

    And while there is an undertone of there are reasons behind everyone’s actions (even good ones) it doesn’t make it ok to hurt other people because of it. And that’s mentioned too.

    I think what I like a lot about these books is that psychologically they are really authentic. And yay for finally acknowledging the need for mental health treatment for terrible abuse and adverse childhood experiences.

    I don’t really care for the misunderstandings and poor communication but it moves the story along. But I like that these guys aren’t actively harming the FMCs or psychologically torturing them like other dark romances. Or even raping them. I also love that these guys realize pretty early on that they have feelings for the FMCs.

    And on top of everything, these books are well written and also wonderfully interesting plot lines! Very nice touch with the homage to the Cinderella nick name. Brava!

    It’s hard not to root for these boys but remember, people can’t save other people. They have to figure out how to save themselves.

    I came across a reel about this book on Facebook and it really caught my interest, so I borrowed it through Kindle Unlimited, and I’m so glad I did!

    I genuinely loved this story and found it incredibly engaging, I didn’t want to put it down. I hadn’t realised it’s the second in a series, but it works beautifully as a standalone.

    The connection between Beckett and Eve drew me in straight away, and the way their story unfolded was so compelling. Each plot twist deepened my curiosity and kept me fully immersed.

    I really appreciated that Beckett found the closure he needed, and that Eve was unwavering in her care and commitment. Their dynamic felt powerful and real.

    I laughed, I cried, and I’m officially hooked! The enemies-to-lovers trope and the forced proximity made for such an exciting dynamic, and I loved how the characters challenged and balanced each other. Their banter was absolute perfection!

    Oh I wanted a dark bully romance and Mila delivered. Beckett and Eve don’t have an easy journey, they have a ton of hurdles and miscommunication getting in their way but when they let their walls fall, it was absolutely everything.

    Becket has a lot of demons that he battles and the last thing he needs to do is get involved with his best friends twin sister but he can’t help himself. He wants her as much as he wants her to pay for some of the hurt that he is feeling.

    Eve is left reeling when she finds out that when her brother, Asher, decided to transfer last minute, the school cancelled her dorm room instead of his. Without having a place to stay, she has no choice but to take Asher’s spot in the hockey dorms. At first Becket fights it, but the idea of having her close to act out of plans for revenge is too good of an opportunity.

    Only as he gets close to Eve, he realizes that he got a lot wrong and he starts to see her in a new light. Loving a man with red flags as much as I do, Eve fights for Becket because she sees the broken man that he is and wants to help him heal.

    Please make sure you read the trigger warnings because there was a couple sensitive topics that are hit like sexual assault, robbery with violence and drug use.

    This book was exceptional, I wish I could give it more than 5 stars. Mila is one of my go-to, one click authors, and she has done it again with this book.

    The story of Eve and Becks was definitely one that I won't stop thinking about anytime soon. It's dark and twisted but totally gripping right from the start, and it already left me wanting to read Asher's and Winters book, also looking forward to Ronan Black's Story.

    Becks might come from a wealthy family, but his life hasn't been easy or problem-free, which is something you might not expect. My heart went out to Becks for everything he's had to endure, and I think Mila did a fantastic job writing about his struggles in a way that feels real and respectful.
    Eve's life was tough. She grew up poor, her mom worked as a cleaner for Becks' family, and her twin brother was super protective of her. All Eve ever wanted was to fit in and be accepted, despite feeling like she didn't belong because of where she came from. Eve is tough and doesn't let anyone push her around.
    For a long time, Becks and Eve didn't get along, staying out of each other's way, with her brother (and his best friend) Asher caught in the middle. But the summer before college, everything changed between them, stirring up lots of anger, frustration, and a surprising amount of chemistry. When they end up sharing a room in college, Becks sees his chance to get back at her... or so, it seems. Is revenge really what he wants?

    Their story is intense, with a lot of passion, desire, and attraction that's been buried for years. They have a lot of misunderstandings and trust issues to work through, not to mention the hurt they've both experienced. But healing can happen, especially with the right person by your side, and their journey to find peace together is really moving. I loved reading about how they've been connected through the years and how they keep finding their way back to each other despite trying to fight it.

    "Dark Delights" is full of drama, suspense, and lots of surprises. Its definitely a must read and highly recommended 👌 💜
