Lydia found herself in the middle of clashes between forces of good and evil in different timelines to discover her identity. She must play a role in the grand scheme of fulfilling a particular prophecy.

 The Day I Disappeared is a fictional story of the war Lydia and her ancient noble family fight. This ancient family consists of her mother Nortia, grandmother Ati, and their royal guard Antoni. They unite against the dark forces of the Riders of the Reunity, a sect led by their priestess/leader, Vanth, whose purpose is to unite two stones into one and wield their time-traveling powers.

Maria Moriarity did a fantastic job on the story's creativity; I was fully immersed in the world she created. Reading the book increased my fascination with time-traveling.
Aside from having a great story pace and consistency, the author spiced up this book with romance and action. I found this book less predictable, but I expected the optimistic note on which it ended. Also, the storytelling capability of the author shined through, as sentence fluency, speech delivery, and dialogues were on point throughout this book.

I’m the mother of three beautiful children. I’m also mommy to a slightly neurotic Yorkshire terrier and the ghost of a magnificent Irish wolfhound.

When I’m not writing, I’m a registered nurse. My days consist of trying my best to balance my love of writing with my current job in a surgical unit. I graduated from the University at Buffalo with a degree in Biomedical Sciences/Pre-Med. I worked for fourteen years in a medical intensive care unit in Buffalo, New York, before deciding to ramp that down a bit and move south.

Once I hit fifty-five, got my AARP card and promptly migrated to Florida as so many of our species do. Happily, I’ve finally managed to put my toes in the sand and currently live in sunny Fort Lauderdale.

    Romance isn't my preferred genre, but the love between Lydia and Charontes was fun to watch unfold. It helped that both characters were so colorfully depicted. Especially Charontes--the way he behaved near the end of the book had me laughing so hard. And the romance is clean. I don't remember anything graphic, which I appreciated.

    The medical realism of chapter one was awesome. I can tell the author is a nurse. And the ancient historical details felt convincing to me. I can tell the author did her research.

    The time travel mechanics were different from all other stories I've read and movies I've watched. I won't go into details because of spoilers, but I was pleasantly surprised by how this was handled.

    And the author managed to introduce a new major character near the end of the book and get me quickly invested in him--that's something I've never seen before, and very impressive.

    The writing was clear, clean, and never wordy. I don't remember any boring parts--each detail seemed necessary. If you enjoy fantasy in general and time travel in particular, you should definitely read this book.

    It took me a minute to catch on to the time jumping in this book but I’m glad I stuck with it. Lydia’s story went from ordinary to extraordinary! I loved this book and the adventure into other time periods, plus the supernatural twists made the book fun. You’ll need your big girl panties on for this one but I definitely recommend this book!
