Steven Murgatroyd has been a fanatical fisherman for over fifty years. These days he fishes almost exclusively with the fly rod; eagerly pursuing game, coarse and saltwater species and documenting his various piscine escapades, His writing, collected together here for the first time, has been featured in a variety of well-known fishing-related print and digital publications, and has won various awards including first prize in the Balvenie 'Story to Tell' competition, the Grayling Society Righyni-Roose Award for excellence in the written word, and first place in the Fish and Fly writing competition. He is a trustee of The Wild Carp Trust and a life member of The Wild Trout Trust. He lives on the Welsh borders with his family. I've read an awful lot of fishing books and articles over the years. Very few have captured my interest and desire to keep on reading like The Last Chance Fishing Club !
Stevens passion for angling shines throughout, and his style and stories resonate with any angler who is ' hooked ' on fishing . His triumphs and disasters are all shared in a great variety of stories that make perfect armchair reading .
Take a leaf out of his book , and approach your chosen swim carefully...
You are sure to find this book a delight

Excellent book, written in a very easy to read style, and plenty of small chapters, which mean picking up and putting down is so easy if short of time. I must admit I didn’t do much putting down, and I’ve finished it in 24 hours.
Steven’s style is easy to understand and so much of what he writes can be related to my own experiences and feelings, just like a good comedian is funny because the audience can associate with the situation.
If you are thinking of buying it just do it, you won’t regret it. I just wish I had bought the hardback version now as this will definitely stay in my library.

If you’re looking for a collection of stories that you’re most likely going to identify with as a fly fisher then this is an absolute gem. There is nothing better than finding a book where you can relate to 99% of the author’s experiences, beliefs and anecdotes. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
