I did not want this story to end!! WOW!

Think of any emotional feelings you've every experienced. It's included this story. Putting this one down was out of the question.

Lisa Renee Jones is an exceptional author. You never know what's going to happen next, but you always "wait for it". I will definitely read Deep Under again to be certain I did not miss anything with the first read.

Going undercover, Kyle is hired by an evil man, Alvarez, to protect someone, but is shocked to discover it's Myla, Kara's sister, the woman he was tasked to find. This was written a while ago, but at least there's no wall phones in this book. ;D

The TSTL moment - Alvarez is extremely possessive, secretive, and unpredictable, so why are they sleeping together every night, showering together, and she's constantly wearing his shirt? Don't they know it's a death sentence if caught? Also, the cover pic is wrong - Myla's got dark hair like her sister, Kara.

I loved these two characters and will keep reading this series.

Lisa Renee Jones' Deep Under pulled me in and held me captive. I didn't even want to look up as I swiped away at the pages to see what was going to happen and utterly transfixed by the passionate story that was unravelling before my eyes.

We get to see the story enfold from both our heroine, Myla and our hero, Kyle's POVs. Being able to hear from both of them had me falling deeper into the story as I quickly became attached and started living the story through them. Hot, sexy, alpha Kyle - from Walker Security and undercover to find our gorgeous Myla. She is strong and guarded, but for good reason - what would you do if you were immersed in a dangerous cartel for the last year? Kyle needs to find out what she knows, where she stands with the cartel and figure out how to safely extract her. Problem is, first he needs to figure out if she is there willingly. Oh and yeah... that little problem of EXPLOSIVE CHEMISTRY between them that pops up. You know since he was "hired" by the head of the cartel to protect his woman... dun, dun, dun.

While you can see that Deep Under is part of a series it is listed as a standalone. And I would completely concur - I never felt lost or confused in anything that happened. I was however, drawn in by the side characters and can't wait to read more about them (backlist & future!)

The ride Lisa Renee Jones took me on was a big one - both emotionally and with the drama suspense. Her writing drew me in and never let me go - from the very first page until I found I could swipe no more. It was passionate, steamy, suspenseful, full of emotion and intrigue. But ultimately it was a story of survival, trust, loyalty and love.

OMG What rock have I been hiding under that I haven't read Lisa Renee Jones until now? AHHHH if you are like me (which considering the success of her books, I am probably on an island all alone here) you are going to be banging your head against the wall Wondering what on earth took you so long. I mean it isn't as if I haven't seen her out and about... SMH!

I definitely recommend this book! (And if you are anything like me you will be going back and clicking on her other Tall, Dark and Deadly books because... mmmmmm those Walker men! I. Need. More.)

Loved this story, snuck in extra chapters during the day. The suspense is off the charts!

Myla was abducted by a drug lord and human trafficker. She has settled into her captivity and feels she needs to stay there so people think she's dead. She feels there's no hope for her freedom and accepts the fact that things are what they are in her gilded birdcage of an apartment she lives waiting for her captor to show up.

Kyle sees video footage of her escaping death along with the kingpin they're hunting. She didn't die as suspected and the look she gives a video camera tells him many things. She wanted proof of life to be known, that she was a captive and the look in her green eyes reached into his soul. He would find her. Whatever it took.

Great read! Very suspenseful, passionate, major male protectiveness, and has you on the edge of your seat the whole story until the end.

Be prepared to have to suspend a whole lot of disbelief while reading this book-- mostly with the romance portion of the story. Sometimes, insta-love works. Here, it just really doesn't. I had such high hopes for this book, especially since we had to wait so long for its arrival, but overall, it just is a bit much.

Although the story itself was pretty good, picking up where the Tall, Dark, and Deadly series left off almost three years ago, it did drag in many places. Then when the action finally rolls, it was over so quickly that my head spun. It's a lot of build up for a very quick payday. The ending was rushed as well.

It seems busy authors tend to get cranking out the hits instead of fostering the stories like they did earlier in their careers. It's a good thing, though, with this author that she still takes a bit of time to flesh out the characters even if the storyline was slow because of it.

It wasn't bad enough to not read anymore of the series. In fact, I may pick up her other series to see where it may lead.

Also part of the Walker team now is Kara who’s married to Blake who’s ex AFT and one of the brothers that started the organisation ,a year on she’s still convinced that her sister and Alvarez’s death was staged, and has been constantly looking for her sister . Imagine Kyles surprise when he’s interviewed for the bodyguard’s job and finds out the person he’s protecting is non other than Myla and of course Michael Alvarez her boyfriend is still very much alive as well ......... The story is fast paced ,with lots of heart stopping dangerous moments of course the sexual tension between Kyle and Myla is off the charts ,it’s obvious what’s going to happen between them ,it all leads to an absolutely thrilling conclusion . ❤️❤️
