    I was skimming Act Your Age for the umpteenth time when I saw Eve tweeted that Degrees of Control was out, so I one-clicked because I really need more hot reads in my lyfe, and BOY,

    this book is So. Hot. I mean, Ty Henderson is still #1 in my heart, but James Hunter is a worthy contender. Degrees of Control really hit all my kinks. It's intense, super sexy, super kinky, and also super angsty.

    Charlotte and James practically burned the sheets every time they got together, and they got together a lot. I love both of them as individual characters and as a couple. Charlotte especially is so darn lovable. She's so nice and kind and full of heart, and she has a quiet strength to her. I cheered every time she stood up for herself, and I love that she's so sure of her wants and needs, and makes no compromises. James is a messed up goose and I still love him despite of his arrogance, sometimes callousness, and cargo-load of baggage. I love the way he can't help but to care about Charlotte, because Charlotte is a ray full of light and he needs more light in his life. He can be such an ass but I think Eve redeemed him quite well. His character growth is quite admirable.

    I love, love, LOVE Charlotte's friends. They were a hoot and I love that Charlotte has that kind of support in her life. I especially love Hayley, I love her energy and I'd love for her to have her own HEA.

    Overall, if it isn't obvious already I love this book so much. The epilogue novella in the end made me cry and scream. BRB gonna reread it all over again.

    This was a paper cleanser for me. I've been reading a lot of dark romance with sizzling sexy time to match. I love the dominant submissive aspect. The sexual tension and lead up on terms was wonderful, then feelings came into play.
    Charlie fell first, but she felt James was holding back at times. Things came to a head with the whole wanting more. A break down that pushed James into clarity from his sister.

    while super fun and spicy, this also had some heart at the core of it. i even teared up a bit near the end. i love how eve can write such vivid, fully fleshed-out characters that i feel like i know. her stories always surprise me and i can't get enough of her sense of humor.

    i will definitely be continuing to work my way thru the rest of eve's books!

    This was my first time reading a Eve Dangerfield book, I'm a fan. I was nervous about the content, it's not something I tend to gravitate towards yet found it wonderfully captivating and non offensive. Some content is sensitive for both characters. Charlie's kink is what some would consider unusual (putting it mildly). James had a incident happen to him at the tender age of 14. Both navigate through however, and the sensitive subject matter is tastefully written. I really liked the ending, and overall enjoyed this read!

    I enjoyed this, not as much as I liked Act Your Age, but I definitely appreciated the sexual kinks this heroine liked. Rough sex, sexual dominance, a little bit mean here, a touch of humiliation there, some hair pulling, all super hot to read. Charlie is also the kind of h I like, good-natured, sweet and curvy, not a witch at all, just a happy person who likes her sex a little on the dark side. James was a bit harder for me to like.

    Now, I love jerk heroes, even the gruff, mean ones too, and he was certainly a damaged hero. Spoilers?:: Because I do like them flawed, I cut him some slack, even after seeing him get with someone other than the h. It happens right after the sample ends, and, honestly, if I'd read it in the sample, I might not have bought the book. But h/H had just met, no deep connection etc., so I let that go. However, after they are very intimate, it's kind of suggested he got drunk and slept with someone else. I choose to believe he didn't, because the condom was still in his wallet. But he didn't remember much of anything from that night. Charlie gets over it and is super understanding, as they're not boyfriend/girlfriend, just f-buddies, but I was less understanding. It nagged at me. Unless I missed something, it's not really said that he did one way or the other, so I chose to think he didn't revert back to his manho behavior.

    Overall, it was sweet to see h/H develop into something more. It was a struggle, his past trauma and his jealousy and feeling unworthy of Charlie. The novella included in the download left me a little sad tho. Maybe because I read them back to back. I'm crazy strange, as the rough sex didn't disturb me but another show of his insecurity did. Crazy, I know, but after all this time, I didn't want to see him regress back to that insecurity. It's all HEA, but I felt a little bereft after it. Good sex and writing by the author. Just not one I'll read again.

    I really enjoyed this book. From the blurb you expect this to be a short books with lots of h I T, dirty sex, and shallow characters. This is true to a certain extent: it's difficult to bring depth to characters in such a short book. I do, however, think the writer did give the characters much more depth than you'd normally get in such a short book. You'd think the storyline would follow the typical formula (they meet, are attracted, encounter problem, solve problem, and get a hpa), and end with a simple hpa. Luckily the story became more complex and much more realistic.

    The characters are relatable and the storyline nicely transitions from simple to more complex issues. The sex scenes are dirty, but yet have a certain level of intimacy. Good job, Eve!
