Hi, I'm M.M. Crumley Your Author Extraordinaire (Also Known as M.M. Boulder)

As M.M. Crumley I write Urban Fantasy books full of supernatural action, nail-biting-mystery and; laugh-out-loud humor. Why? Because stories, myths, and legends have always been a huge part of my life... As a child, I liked nothing better than to lose myself in a world where magic and heroes were part of the fabric of existence.

As my pen name M.M. Boulder I write psychological thrillers and murder mysteries that bring the darker impulses we may not feel completely comfortable with into the light. My stories are full of lies and deaths, but there is always justice. A type of justice that's not afraid to get its hands dirty. I write morally ambiguous characters who are pushed to their limits and take matters into their own hands. In my world getting away with murder has never been so much fun!

No matter what I write every one of my characters are real to me. They exist. They are three-dimensional beings who demand that their stories be told. If I were to turn away from them, they would haunt me; and so I don't. Instead I chase after them and write down everything they say!

This series has become one of my all time favorites. The pacing is fast, the plot grips you, and the characters are interesting- the by-play between them is fun, believable, and just down right snarky. Although it is basically urban fantasy, even if you don’t like the genre you need to give Doc a try. He is a compelling character.

Just do yourself a favor. Start with book one and begin the Doc Holliday series. Somewhere around book four or five, take a break and read MM Crumley’s amazing Andrew Rufus series (which will provide additional context and back-story), and then continue Doc’s saga. Each book adds more to Doc’s story and world, and to Doc himself. This series needs to be read.

Doc encapsulates what every chaotic good man wants to be: suave, rich, loyal and supportive of friends, distrustful of power structures, and an absolute terror to those who prey on the weak. His bedroom skills are only surpassed by his unmitigated capacity to kill human (and not so human) predators. Yet he isn't 2 dimensional, isn't some brooding batman. He is funny, generous, over protective, self depreciating, and unders the clothes make the man. For all the guilt he lays on himself, he spends the vast majority of his time make other peoples lives better. As a result he has a loyal team who will follow him through fire. Would that more people with wealth and power follow his example. It would be a better world.
Only downside I have found that as books in the series have continued I am getting more and more nervous that a certain right hand man of Docs will be ended for the sake of the narrative. Given how alive ALL these characters are on the page, it would be devastating.
