Doctor I Do : A marriage of convenience romance (Chicago's Billionaire Doctors) (The Chicago Doctors Book 2) Kindle Edition
Alex Taylor is the hospital's playboy doctor–hot, fun, and charming.
I’ve known him since my best friend married his brother, and I’ve avoided the chemistry between us and put off his flirty advances.
That is until I stood to lose my inheritance.
Now, I need his help to convince my family that we’re engaged.
It doesn’t take much convincing because he sees it like a game.
How hard can that be? Get engaged and move in with him.
Act like a married couple in front of people but “just friends” when doors are closed.
Piece of cake.
Only the lines become blurred when you live together, and suddenly his crooked smiles, naked body, and flirty charms are all yours…
When he asked me to marry him, I didn’t expect my heart to be in it forever.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 1, 2024This story was such a welcome change from the apparent pattern of a large section filled with lack of communication and misery. The difficulties in the relationship were brief and tolerable. Our misnamed playboy was a man I'd like to meet!! He is considerate, thoughtful, patient and gorgeous and his deep capacity to love is heartwarming and impressive. Though he was a doctor, we learned very little about his field of neurology and his work in particular, which was largely omitted. Thank you for the two epilogues, though I still wonder if the second child was a boy.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 22, 2023Unless I missed it, you left us hanging on the second pregnancy. Will there be more about Alex and Thalia?
- Reviewed in the United States on September 6, 2024This book is very good. I have read it twice already and will eventually read it again. Ready for the next one.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 8, 2024Omg I absolutely loved this story. The chemistry between Alex and Thalia was so strong you could just feel it off the pages. I loved how it took Thalia to break out the playboy Alex. Alex felt he wasn't worth love. I cried, laughed and was screaming why to my tablet. I now can't wait to read the next one. Absolutely a must read book.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 23, 2024The story was predictable but enjoyable if you want something easy to read.
I read the first book in the series and events from that one are referred to in this one. But the timelines aren't consistent.
The author needs a better editor.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 27, 2024I positively loved this book and this couple. I mean seriously Ms. Woods wrote this story perfectly. Alex and Tahlia were a puzzle that I needed to piece together. Alex was broken and Tahlia was lost. I can't say enough about this couple or this book. I have read and liked Ms. Woods's writing and have enjoyed it but this book tops them all. This couple was everything. This book is about discovery, self-love, and falling in love. I highly suggest this book and this author.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 18, 2025Each one if these stories is better than the last! So heartfelt and steamy! Totally a fan of Sharon Woods!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 24, 2023Alex is a notorious playboy. His romantic life is nothing but one-night stands. Tahlia has had enough of her current situation, working at a coffee shop. She decides she wants her inheritance. The only problem is that she has to be married to get it. Tahlia and Alex enter a fake engagement. Can they convince everyone that they are in love while remaining just friends?
This is my first book by Sharon Woods. While it is obvious Alex and Tahila have met in another one of her books, I was not lost without reading any of the other books. I loved how attentive Alex was to Tahlia. I wish my other half would give me massages like Alex did Tahila! Watching Tahlia grow into her business persona was also nice to witness.
I will be reading more of Sharon Wood’s books. This was the perfect slow burn with a happy ending.

5.0 out of 5 stars Falling In Love
Wow what a steamy story of friendship to love between Alex and Tahlia. The characters were intriguing and their relationship was exciting to observe as they developed a closer bond. Loved the story.

4.0 out of 5 stars Liked this story
Good story of love and fear, Alex fear that he I damaged and unlovable. Tal fear of not being loved by Alex. Both have a lot of fears to over come, such a good tale showing that men are not always in control.

3.0 out of 5 stars anon
Good storyline but poor grammar and messy writing. Could have been better if a better editor was used. Also quite cheesy to begin with and a bit far fetched. Enjoyable read nonetheless the less

2.0 out of 5 stars 2 stars
I feel giving it 2 stars was a push. I think the author needs to give her characters more time to develop as couples. Everything seems to go at a damn rush to reach the end of the story. Writing style ok but feels immature. Sex scenes blah, I had to skip them. This author is not for me. This decision is not based solely on this book, I have read 3 in this series. No deep emotional connections, everything rushed and unbelievable.
And Broken, he's a broken man. I was expecting something deep, but no, he's broken because everyone called him a player and promiscuous. Eh, yes, he was a player. His past history was a player. One night stand hook ups only. You earned your reputation. Don't use the excuse you're broken because you earned your title "player"
