A psychic medium FMC plus a hot detective hero? YES PLEASE! Talk about an amazing combination. Leo didn’t believe in ghosts and he certainlyyyyy didn’t believe psychics were legit. But feisty Evelyn didn’t let that stop her from wanting to solve her friend’s murder, and more so, from trying to catch the serial killer before he struck again. Suffice it to say, Evelyn’s gifts created some tension between her and Leo. But that just added to the sexual tension already simmering between them. On top of all that, having to fake a relationship in order to bait the killer…well, things were destined to get hot between them sooner or later. 🔥 The mystery and suspense parts of this book had me glued! I needed to know who the killer was! I had working theories along the way but I loved how everything unfolded. I also really the paranormal aspects sprinkled throughout the book. It really added good drama to the plot. Overall, if you love kick ass characters, a good mystery romance with paranormal aspects thrown into the mix, this book is definitely for you.

    This is the first installment of this series and I am HOOKED! I was literally on the edge of my seat, jumping up and down and making all the shocked noises possible. The mystery, the suspense, the romance…all a big ol’ chef’s kiss!!!

    I listened to the audiobook on Scribd while reading along to the e-book on Kindle. Both narrators did a phenomenal job at bringing this story to life and making me feel like I was right there in the thick of it all.

    From the beginning I was intrigued. Had life not gotten in the way, I would’ve finished this sooner. When I wasn’t reading this book, I was thinking about it and itching to get back. I loved the mystery, the details of what was happening and they were feeling. I loved the way the story unraveled and the answers were revealed.

    I am so excited to start reading the next book to see what adventures await. I am hoping that there will be an audiobook for the rest of the series, because I will be reading them next but would love to revisit them through an audiobook!

    The execution didn’t work for me, though. Great start with the way that Evelyn and Leo met. And then things went downhill. Minor spoilers: the h talks in terms of “almost boyfriend” after their initial meeting. Who does that?? The H repeatedly makes boneheaded, misguided statements questioning the h’s gift immediately after she proves she actually has a sixth sense. An editor should have caught that “ravenous with hunger” are words in search of an English teacher.

    On the other hand, their time with Leo’s family was amazing and good. Parker is a great secondary character. I liked Evelyn better than I liked Leo but I shook my head at both of them way too much. Not sure I’ll read more from this author. So much potential here with too many distractions for me.

    This was a exciting and suspenseful story. I have definitely found a new author and series to put on my auto read list.
