Eternal Meditation Principles : Yoga Sutra and Brahm Vidyas from Upanishads

Meditation is second stage of Internal part of Yoga. It needs successful completion and control of earlier six stages. Currently, most of the Yoga gurus, in order to simplify the process, do not stress on this requirement. While five internal parts of the Yoga (Yama, Niyama, Aasan, Pranayam and Pratihar) may be practiced outside, or among a group; there is need to perform the three internal stages of Dharana, Dhyan (Meditation) and Samadhi in a secluded place.

Result is that we get a fast food type Meditation, mostly ignoring basic stages and stopping at the Pratyahar stage providing mental calmness and health benefits.

Very few reach the Meditation stage and then goal of meditation, i.e., attaining the stage of super consciousness is forgotten.

The book explains the process in very simple way. The series of books also expounds the 32 Brahm Vidyas, wisdom extracted from major Upanishads. We find eleven such wisdom here in first part of the book, ideal starting point for meditation.

Some Brahm Vidyas, wisdom to meditate on for Samadhi

Udgit Vidya One should meditate with 'Om' the Udgit; the best verbal representation of Brahm, the God.
Aaaditya Vidya One should meditate on the golden Purusha in the Sun, while using sun as a pratik for meditation
Akshi Vidya One should meditate upon the Brahm residing and seen in eyes, when one closes his eyes
Bhuma Vidya Bhuma means infinite. No finite thing can give you bliss as there will be some thing better and you will be unsatisfied. One should attain this Bhuma.

5.0 out of 5 stars A sensible read!

For something as common an activity as meditation, it should be straight and easy to go when asked to define it. Most of us today might have tried to meditate successfully, however practicing it is not enough as long as you do it without knowledge.
Touching concepts as minute as consciousness to as large a question as the ‘why’ of meditation, this book by Kaushal Kishore is a complete gem to enlighten you with some enlightening knowledge.
According to the regular life of a non-regularly-meditating person, meditation revolves around the mental and physical well being of a person. However, this read delves a little deeper into the concept which makes it a completely interesting ride of fascination.
It will teach you how meditation is more than health maintenance and is about self awareness and deeper realization. Themes like ancient wisdom, history, and stories which describe the upbringing of meditating elements such as ‘Om’ are covered in this book.
Overall, reading this book would be an intangible experience as if you are transcended to an ethereal world of wisdom and knowledge once you are stuck with the influence of its text.

In "Eternal Meditation Principles: Brahm Vidyas Part 1," author Kaushal Kishore delves into the profound exploration of meditation, departing from the usual focus on physical and psychological well-being. The book introduces readers to Brahm Vidyas, thirty-two wisdoms from the Upanishads tailored for meditation, aiming to guide individuals towards a righteous and blissful life.

What I Liked in This Book:
One of the standout features of this book is its accessibility. Despite the deep spiritual concepts discussed, Kishore's writing style is clear and engaging, making it approachable for readers new to meditation or Vedic wisdom. The inclusion of Sanskrit shlokas alongside their translations adds authenticity and direct reference to the Upanishads' teachings.

The thematic exploration within the book is another highlight. It goes beyond mere theory, encouraging introspection and self-reflection among readers. The seamless flow of chapters and articulate language foster a deep resonance, prompting readers to contemplate their own lives and aspirations for inner peace.

I appreciate the inclusion of practical exercises to incorporate meditation into daily life. While these exercises are beneficial, expanding with real-life examples and catering to various meditation experience levels could enhance the book's practicality further.

    Who Should Read This Book:
"Eternal Meditation Principles: Brahm Vidyas Part 1" is recommended for anyone interested in delving deeper into meditation beyond its physical and mental health benefits. Whether you are a beginner or have some meditation experience, the book offers valuable insights and practices to nurture your spiritual journey. It particularly appeals to those seeking inner peace, spiritual growth, and a meaningful connection with their higher self.
