This is the fourth book of the series that I have read. I again enjoyed the stories which are written in an easily understood style. Each book covers a different decade. True crime enthusiasts will enjoy this book. The only reason that I gave the book four stars rather than five is that I would have preferred the book have pictures. I will read the rest of the series.

The grammar in this series leaves everything to be desired. The author also obviously doesn't know the difference between the terms "former" and "latter." Finally, NONE of the page numbers in the Table of Contents matches ANY of the chapters!

Once again I am very impressed with these authors! They are able to tell a story without their own opinions getting in the way. To me that’s important to just let the facts be known…. I can’t wait for the next read!1

This volume covers twelve true crime cases including the baffling murder of Julia Wallace. You'll also find the Buck Ruxton case in which Dr. Buck Ruxton murdered his wife and the maid and chopped them up into little pieces. It was appropriately labeled the Jigsaw Murders.

The great depression was hard on everyone, and each person reacted to it differently. Whether the killers in these stories were pushed to hard by the times, or if they were always wired wrong it's unknown. Either way this is another great collection of murders that time has forgotten.

What drives a man to kill his wife and then after doing so is hit with such remorse that he can't live without her. This he puts her body in a suitcase and takes it with him to every new home.

Or a mother who claims to want only the best for her family but kills with arsenic.

These are the kinds of stories that will haunt your sleep after reading these true stories of murder.

I enjoy the way these books are written and have so for a few years every since I read the story of the little girl serial killer. Always interesting and riveting.

A time that should’ve been simpler but many things were much more complicated. I love the history an this book had many stories and people I had not heard about previously and this made the stories even better. One of my favorite true crime books

Not interested in dusty old nonsense from the 1930s. They barely had the most basics of forensics back then.
