Endgame: Ocean Bay #1 Kindle Edition
1. Don't fall in love in high-school.
2. Get through senior year and snag a full-ride scholarship to college.
3. Get the hell away from my irresponsible mother.
I didn't think that was too much to ask for, and I've worked damn hard to make it a reality. Until my mother went and did the unthinkable! She's pregnant. Yep, the woman-child only went and got herself knocked-up by a man who lives on the other side of the country.
As if it wasn't bad enough to uproot my life six weeks before senior year, Mom's new beau comes with baggage.
A sweet stepsister, Amelia.
And the b*stard of all b*stards, Rourke.
Rourke is a senior like me, and he doesn't want me in his town, much less his home. He's also hell bent on making sure I know it. Thing is, I don't want to be there either, and if Rourke expects me to swan in and kiss his ass to make him like me, he has another thing coming. I'm nobody's bitch and he's about to learn that...
Endgame is a feisty standalone romance.
Due to its explicit content, bad language, and graphic content, Endgame is recommended for mature readers.

- Reviewed in the United States on June 20, 2017I wasn't too sure about this book when I bought it but, on a whim, I said why not and tried it. I have to admit I was surprised by how much I actually enjoyed it. I love the bully factor that both Mercy and Rourke (not sure how to spell his name or say it) had towards each other. Neither enjoyed the situation they were placed in and took it out on each other. It was great getting both perspectives since it really helped me see who each character was. I loved the growth in their relationships from enemies to friends to having a relationship. There was a good storyline to this book BUT there are other books similar that I think have done a better job (I'm horrible at remembering titles but trust me there are!). Now it would have been 5 stars if the end hadn't fallen so darn flat! It just seemed to miss that dramatic climax towards the end that all books have. There was no huge dramatic scene that had me page turning to make sure that the characters end up happily together. There was a slight hiccup but then it flashed forward and ended. While I love a good epilogue, this one seemed misplaced. The book would have benefited from at least another chapter that showed what happened after their parents walked in on them. I loved seeing where they were 4 years later but I just wanted more. The beginning and middle were good until the end just not doing it for me. Despite the negatives, it was a good book that I wanted to finish. If you're torn, take a chance on this one.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 8, 2017I can sit here and tell you over and over how amazing Endgame is, but honestly, the word 'amazing' is not even powerful enough to describe this book. This is probably the best book I've read all year, if not ever...and Rourke and Six are my favorite characters ever written! They were so well-developed, as individuals and as they progressed from their hate-to-love relationship, that I connected to them both on a deeper level and fell in love. The hilarity of their banter and sarcasm had me rolling! They are both so passionate and stubborn, which made them perfect for each other and butt heads a lot...and Mercy "Six" had steel in her veins and gave back just as much, if not more, than she got from Rourke. The sexual tension was so thick between these two that you could easily slice it with a butter-knife, and also had me quite turned on throughout ;-). The story and the plot are so well written, packed full with tension and excitement, absolutely captivated me and kept me turning the pages. I didn't expect Rourke to sink his hooks into my heart the way he did but I've found my new #1 book boyfriend in him <3
- Reviewed in the United States on July 3, 2024So, the book started out pretty well, but there was so much push and pull with nothing really happening, that it became boring to read. I’d usually read a book like this in a day, but it took several days just to get 75% through. By round 5 of something almost happening and then not actually happening, I just couldn’t do it anymore. The plot got lost on me. So I DNF it.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 1, 2021This was really good!!! My 1st book from this author. I loved it. Will read more books from her. Very entertaining with a good amount of drama. I will say I got a little annoyed at the bickering and constant back forth. Not in the beginning but more towards the middle and on.. More so from Mercedes. I felt she could be childish at times.
FYI for those like me that want to know(a spoiler if you even want to call it that.. about sex)They finally have sex at about 80% of the book.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 21, 2019A great read with well developed characters, strong heroine, and hot romance. Liked how the bullying part wasn't too extreme that it was unforgivable. Sometimes the bullying can ruined the story for me if done too extreme. I'm glad that the author didn't focused the story on bullying.
The storyline focused more on the romance growth and development between the h. The only reasons I didn't give this five stars was the abrupt suspenseful ending. Kinda of hilarious at the end that I was disappointed that I didn't get more. The epilogue was good but the ending lost the flow of the story in the end. Still a great read though.
It definitely showed how the author took 3 years to finish the book because it came out awesome. If you love not overdone bullying with step brother romance and a well written storyline that one can feels the characters, go read this now.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 30, 2019So I’m a little hooked on M.E. Clayton books. Once I discovered that her FMC aren’t doormats but have some feistiness, I had to read more of her books.
I have to say this book took OBSESSION to a whole new level! Damien was all sorts of cra cra. I seriously had mix feelings about him. He definitely was all Alpha male with a lot of yummy dirty talk! Fiona had her moments of being sassy but more moments of being weak in my opinion. She wasn’t as strong as the FMC in Facing The Enemy. This story was emotional, funny with batshit craziness, and a whole lot of hot sex scenes all wrap in one.. Thank you M.E. Clayton for the fun read.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 25, 2017This was an overall interesting story! I spent the whole day reading it. It's quite a fast read even though there are a lot of pages. It flowed so well that it was really easy to read.
Love the idea of the taboo element. It didn't really feel like it most of the time. No one cared that they were step-siblings. Their parents were always gone and when they found out, it didn't really talk much about it.
I have to say I love the hate-turned-love relationship that happened. The sexual tension in this book was built up nicely. I enjoyed everything about it.
It had lots of similar aspects of a YA story of relationship drama and school drama. It reminded me of other step-sibling books, i.e. Rosemary Beach series by Abbi Glines and The Royals series by Erin Watt. But it also had it's own uniqueness too. Even though, it was an easy read, I felt like it ended abruptly. I wanted more, I guess!
Overall, a great read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love Rourke and Mercy
Holy mother of, wow! I absolutely loved reading Endgame! I fell in love with Mercy and Rourke from the very beginning and couldn’t put the book down.
I loved this gritty, angsty, teenage drama that has an enemies to lovers story that follows Mercy and Rourke.
Mercy and Rourke are thrown together with the marriage of their parents and neither is happy about it and doesn’t want anything to do with each other. Rourke is an absolute a$$hole to Mercy and calls her Six (because she is the sixth step sibling he has had since the death of his Mother) but he has his reasons for being the way he is and he does redeem himself. Mercy gives as good as she gets with Rourke, she doesn’t back down and the love/hate they have for each other is explosive. The sexual tension and chemistry they have is off the charts and when they finally give in to each other it is hot and steamy.
Damn I really wanted more of these two, one thing I thought was missing was at the end, I would have loved to see how they handled their parents and finished the school yr before just skipping forward 4yrs, but I did love that epilogue and seeing where they ended up together.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book was everything.
I freaking love Rourke & I love Mercedes! The banter between these two is amazing but the sex..oh. My. God so freaking HOT!!!! This my first book by Chloe Walsh & it did not disappoint. She is an amazing writer, with a great story. I do wish the ending was a bit longer just because it felt sudden but I loved the epilogue. I can’t wait to read book two.

5.0 out of 5 stars I want more! I want more!
I want more!
I want more!
Do you think if I say it enough I can convince the series queen Chloe Walsh to give up this ludicrous idea of a stand alone?!!
Loved the story of Six and Rourke. Step brother and sister thrown together by their irresponsible MIA parents. Rourke's father is onto wife no 5 with a baby on the way. He has been absent most of Rourke's life except when he wants him to meet the new flavor and Six's mum is actually the child. Six has been the responsible adult in their relationship since she was 10.
Thrown together with nothing but distaste for one another, gold digger v spoilt rich brat and you know their will be sparks.
Chloe has you hooked from the beginning, great writing as usual only negative - I want more!
Please!!!
