Assassin: An Isekai LitRPG Adventure (Ends of Magic Book 3) Kindle Edition
Nathan and his companions are free. For now. They're trapped inside the fortress-city of Halsmet, and every mage of Giantsrest is hunting for them.
Luckily enough, they've been found by Faline, the shapeshifting leader of the Assassins of Gemore. She's pledged to teach Nathan her deadly trade. How far will he go to fight the empire of slavers? How much murder is justified?
Even if they manage to win this fight against Giantsrest, it won't be the end of the conflict. A Questor from ages past lurks in the heart of the Ascendent Academy, and he won't allow Giantsrest to suffer a defeat.
It is time for Nathan to face his sworn enemy, to stand against the Ascendent Academy. But how can one person fight an empire of thousands?
Ends of Magic is a best-rated serialized novel on Royal Road with thousands of followers and over a million views. Now professionally edited and available on Amazon and Audible narrated by Phil Thron.

Nathan is summoned to Davrar for his valuable Insights pertaining to science and engineering.
He's a stem cell biology PhD student, but his understanding is as far-reaching as his insatiable thirst for knowledge. Math. Physics. Biology. Chemistry. Nathan could teach college classes on all of them.
In a world where Insights unlock very real power, Nathan soon realizes his esoteric knowledge for the weapon it is. He can leverage it to both teach new forms of magic and recreate Earth technology.
But Nathan won't be content with using what he already knows from Earth. Davrar is a broken world with a forgotten past. Another world hangs above it, always visible, its continents and oceans shifting behind the blue of the sky. It's a world decimated by apocalyptic Endings that usher in calamity and stomp out civilization, cyclically resetting progress. The many races on Davrar all struggle to advance as far as they can to withstand the inclement destruction... but all have failed.
Nathan intends to understand it all.
Endings be damned.

About the author

Alexander Olson first knew he wanted to be a scientist when his dad taught him how to capture hydrogen gas with foil, batteries, and water. He grew up in Colorado, got his bachelors in chemistry and biology from a small engineering school in Southern California and his PhD in biochemistry from a larger school in Boston. Now he works full-time in science, the closest thing to magic he can achieve in this world.
His love of magic came from escaping into fantastical stories as a child, where he could explore worlds that stretch to the limits of imagination. He first delved into creating his own stories by running multiple tabletop roleplaying games. Eventually he decided to write the story he wanted to read.

Each faction has their own unique turns of phrase and idioms that give identity and depth to the characters associated with them and kept me invested and immersed in the story.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 13, 2024I found myself quite bored for most of this book. I really enjoyed the first two books in the series but it’s kind of dragging at this point. Also the cliffhanger ending….

5.0 out of 5 stars Satisfying continuation of a first class series
Yet another premium addition to a fascinating story. The main characters continue to struggle with growing challenges whilst expanding their capacity. The world is constantly on the cusp of crisis. The future seems problematic, but there is hope. Well worth reading the series from the start. Highly recommended. Looking forward to the next book!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good book stopped to early
The only reason it's 4 not 5 stars is because of the cliff hunger ending. There was a strong start, with fantastic build up and progression, but just before the climax it had built up "end of book 3". Which will waste all the excitement and build up over the next few months waiting for the next book, not a good choice. Everything else about the book was good though.
