About the author

Michael J. Findley has been on the road most of his life and his writings reflect that motion. From the rise of the ancient Hittite Empire to a generational saga of a Space Empire, the one constant is his desire to communicate the truth of God's Word through fiction and nonfiction. Homeschoolers, church leaders, and ordinary believers who want to go deeper into the Word and reach higher to put God in the exalted place where He belongs will find many answers here.
The Ephron the Hittite series will open your eyes to a world in flux as Ice Age civilizations rise and fall. Hold on for family loyalty, political intrigue, arranged marriage, nation-building, and doing whatever is necessary to be a friend to the man who was a friend of Adonai. Meet the Builder, the Dragonslayer, the Warrior, the Advocate, and the Peacemaker.
The Conflict of the Ages series, beginning with Antidisestablishmentarianism, lights the way to understanding the origins of Secular Humanism versus the truth about History, Science, and Literature from Creation. Homeschoolers and adults who want the truth about America's founding will be able to dig into ancient manuscript evidence, scientific proofs, and a true timeline of events too long hidden by supposition and assumptions.
The Empire Saga begins with persecution driving believers right out of this world. An empire in space crumbles from its godly foundations into factions. Earth needs such a crack of rebellion to secure for itself the superior technology and vast resources of space ... unless a glimmer of reconciliation and hope can light a way to a future when all seems lost.
OT and NT Manuscript History: "This was a fantastic read. Fast paced and highly informative. I would recommend this to anyone wishing to know more about the history of the transmission of both the Old and New Testaments."
Ephron the Hittite: "Findley creates a believable story about the origins of the famous, yet elusive, Hittite people from a creationist, young-earth world-view. He describes the daily life and customs of his characters in interesting detail based on careful research."
The Space Empire Saga: "It's an intriguing tale with the rapidly degenerating true church as an Empire in space, a Fourth empire of 20th-century-type scientists in hiding, while the Church stands in the despicable splendor of dead religion on the earth."
What Is an Establishment of Religion?: "This is a great book if you want to know the truth about the Christian foundation our country was built on and how secular humanists have eroded and effectively replaced that foundation."
Biblical Studies: "The Findleys took on a massive task and have created an educational resource that is grounded, thorough, well-supported and able to be understood. As a homeschool mom, I'm excited to put this in my curriculum for my son's junior year."

- Reviewed in the United States on August 6, 2015Format: KindleVerified PurchaseIn the first book of his Ephron the Hittite series, author Michael J. Findley creates a believable story about the origins of the famous, yet elusive, Hittite people from a creationist, young-earth world-view. He describes the daily life and customs of his characters in interesting detail based on careful research. Mind you, these are not the descendants of brutish dwell-dwellers fresh out of prehistory. These are men born only a few generations from Noah—people of intelligence and creative ingenuity, who cling to their pastoral/hunter culture and their God, rather than see their children seduced by life in a city with all its inherent evils. Secular research is just now beginning to unlock the mystery of these people once used as proof the Bible was erroneous. The author offers an intriguing look at what some would call a revisionist history of the Hittite people, famed for their stone and metalwork, but from the perspective of Scripture, it is certainly one closer to the truth.
Against a backdrop of the dispersing tribes from the Tower of Babel incident where “Adonai Elohim of Noah” confused the tongues of the rebellious, we find the tribes of Heth (the great-grandson of Noah through Ham and Canaan) living in the area of Modern Turkey, Northern Syria, and the as yet unflooded Black Valley (the Black Sea basin), the lands allotted to them by their forefather Noah. The children of Heth live a seemingly idyllic life, until the marauding armies of the cities of Shinar threaten to overrun them if they refuse to submit to their king, a man the Hittites believe is Nimrod or Gilgamesh. In the three hundred years since entering into their lands, the tribes have gradually spread out, held together only by their loose bonds of familial trust and trade until they are forced to unite as one or perish by the sword. One man alone must bear the weight of responsibility for their survival, a leader destined for greatness—Ephron, the son of Zohar.
I gave the book four stars, not because of the story itself, which is good, but for the overall structure of the story. In his notes, Findley explains he made the decision to employ modern language and anachronistic terms for the sake of easy readability (which would definitely help younger readers) and to keep the story flowing, unencumbered by explanations of unique Hittite customs and word usages. For me, his decision pulled me out of the story too often and I would have preferred a more complex, historical approach, but it in no way diminished the enjoyment of the story. Of course, now I have to read the next book, Tawananna Daughter of Zohar, to learn what happens next to Ephron and his people.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 24, 2015Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI enjoyed this book. It was interesting to read. It takes place a few hundred years after the Flood in Genesis and it really brings out what it was might have been like to live back them. I did find the writing at times to be disjointed and hard to follow, but I really enjoyed the book. A clean read
