4.7 out of 5 stars 4,933 ratings

Some lives end unfinished, and some transcend time.

After a horrific incident, Swayze finds herself trapped between two lives. Patchy memories and fear for her own safety thrust her into a gut-wrenching journey to uncover the truth.

Will she let her dreams slip away to seek retribution and find the missing pieces to a puzzle that existed a lifetime ago?

“I’m not going to watch you self-destruct. I’m not going to watch you fall in love with another man.”

Or will she discover the only truth that matters?

Epoch pushes the boundaries of what we believe and what we know. It redefines fate and proves that the only thing separating the heart and the soul is an infinite timeline.

“I think a part of you will be mine to love in every life.”

So many emotions... Highly recommend it!

So many emotions... Highly recommend it!
My head is painfully aware of the time that I've spent reading to finish this duet in two days... Migraines aren't cool! This book had hurt me sooooo much! I feel like after awhile I was with a constant knot lodged in my throat. A need, a pain, a despair, an absolutely mess! I was a ball of emotions reading this duet! I didn't stop reading, and I won't say that I loved everything that happened, because hell NOOO! There was a bunch of times when I had to stop reading because I was truly pissed! This book was raw and intense, it was real and so painful to understand their complex tangled lives and souls... It is indeed, a book about reincarnation and soulmates, and loves that Transcend time and space, but also about the right time... The right moment... And the right person in that time and moment! Swayze follows her journey to discovery who she really is, who she was, and what will be of her future and the ones that she loves. It was so hard to see her struggles, and I hated what she did to Griffin, because YESSSSS he was the perfect grocery story guy... My heart broke for all of them so many times, that I didn't even know what to expect next. This book is amazing. This duet is cruelty beautiful! I love how it ended, how they found their way, how it was all about each of their time together and apart... I've finished, but I want to read it all over again! My hangover is real!

The Transcend Duet (Transcend and Epoch) by Jewel E Ann
    5 stars!!!!

“A broken bone is nothing compared to a broken heart. One is a scratch. The other leaves a scar on your soul.”

One thing that Jewel E Ann cannot be called is cookie cutter and this duet is the perfect example of Jewel E Ann’s individual, clever, articulate mind. This duet was one of those that I couldn’t put down and I was so glad that I had the opportunity to read them both back to back, I don’t think I could have coped otherwise. These two books will have your mind running a mile a minute, really make you think what you believe in and what you don’t and with a little suspense thrown in for good measure there is a little of everything that will tickle everybody’s taste buds. Addictive reading that is for sure.

    “I’m sorry.”
    “For what?”
    “For waking the dead.”

Jewel E Ann manages to evoke every single emotion within these two books. I had so many tears throughout different parts and that is kudos to the author, because she nailed those scenes. I felt for all these characters, I took them all into my heart and soul and when they bled, I did too. As I said above, this book will have you questioning so many things and if you don’t believe in the subject matter, maybe it will sway you in some way or another.

“I think a part of you will be mine to love in every life.”

I felt for our heroine, Swayze, throughout this book and I think the author did a fantastic job in conveying just how confused, frightened and intimidated she was. Swayze had a lot of hard choices to make and I felt she made the best out of a bad situation, no matter how tough on my emotions they were.

Griffin, Griffin, Griffin, male perfection and the kind of stuff all great book boyfriends are made of. Griffin with the patience of a saint, insanely loyal, protective and a machine between the sheets. When Griffin loved, he loved hard and was ALL IN. Never once did I question his love for Swayze, he wore his heart on his sleeve and his emotions were prevalent on every single page. I adored this character and I was rooting for him and Swayze throughout. You only find that kind of love once and these had to survive the bumps.

    “You’re. Breaking. My. F***ing. Heart.”

Nate was a man that had the world on his shoulders and was stuck between a rock and a hard place. Recently widowed, every important woman in his life had left him and the only one he had left was a beautiful baby daughter, Morgan. The rapport between Swayze and Nate was that of best friends and while I badly wanted a happy ever after for him, it wasn’t with Swayze. The relationship that Swayze had with Morgan brought tears to my eyes and I was glad that these two met each other. Both giving each other answers they never knew they were searching for.

    “I don’t touch what’s not mine. I have morals. I’m a professor. A father. I’m not a thief.”

Whether you believe in fate or not, this was a great story. I would like to think that we live many lives, as I do everyday with each book I read, and Jewel E Ann really brings home those endless possibilities. This was so much more than your average romance, this was a tragedy, it was uplifting, it had a little suspense and intrigue but most of all it had heart. I adored these two books and cannot recommend them highly enough, especially if you want to read something different.

“We don’t love with our brains, we love with our hearts. We love on instinct. Love is undefinable and resides in all of us. There are no requirements to love someone. Daisy was my first love. Jenna was my last love. Morgan is my forever love.”

This is... a 4 star for me.
I gave the first book a 3.5 star and a review filled with anger because the FL was irritating as heck, she will be remember as that FL that got on my nervous like no other, also a book with a Griffin.
But you know what? Some books make the list Of Unforgettable Books for different reasons, the first books that pop in your mind when talking about certain topics. The books with Sad endings like Taking Changes, The books with Plot twists you didn’t expect like FU*K Love,
The first book that made you cry like The guardian, The first book that made you so mad that you wanted to throw your laptop against the wall, like Blue Love, The first series you read in less than a week, like The twilight series. I can keep going but this is a review about Epoch.

One thing I loved was that it wasn’t an open ending. I appreciated Nate by the end of this book even if he also irritated me. Like the author can’t really be mad at us for loving Griffin so much, she did write about this perfect specimen of man.
I’m not going to lie I did read spoilers to find Out who she stayed with and sincerely I won’t of read it if she had ended up with someone else.
Also it had a very unique topic, recarnation. I’m not going to lie I was very harsh to Fl and the reason is that I believe we have options, we can keep away from things that aren’t right for us, things that damage us. But if you decide to do things that are ruining our life or those of our love ones and we don’t stop you deserve the outcome you get. NO EXCUSES!
Would I re read this? I don’t think so but maybe just to get my Griffin fix.

It was the perfect ending for a beautiful love story. I love it when an author lets us read and feel both sides of the story what she and he feel and think makes it more special and makes me really feel the love and anguish and loss and happiness along with the characters . This duo was the first books I read from this author and I am hooked.

Uau. Sinto cheiro de ressaca literária. Hahahaha

5.0 out of 5 stars Heart's still pounding Part 2
Reviewed in Canada on April 17, 2018
I have to give this book five stars, but my reading experience this time was very different from Transcend; which I couldn't put down even when my family scowled at me when I informed them that couldn't make dinner that night because I HAD TO FINISH A BOOK. This is a perfect part 2 for Transcend but I had to keep putting it down, walking away from it, or reading something else to calm down. I cared too much what happened to Swayze, Griffin and Nate.
As Swayze rushes headstrong into into hypnosis to figure out Daisy's murder, Nate battles his growing love for Swayze as a young woman unto herself and not merely the vessel for part of Daisy's soul this go round. In many ways Nate is the perfect guilt free other man - he's like being able to gorge on chocolate (that has abs, intellectual depth, and selfless supportive love) and never gain a pound. In some ways he's less present in the love triangle this time, but I think it's because he arrives at a level of perfection of love, generosity, and wisdom faster than Swayze and Grif. He knows Swayze isn't for him in this incarnation. "You're not mine to kiss" is a perfect motto for Nate because it sums up his passion for Swayze but balances it with his moral conviction to her happiness as Swayze rather than Daisy.
In Transcend Griffin tears himself off the pages as possibly the sexiest thing penned by a female author. In Epoch he's still swoon-worthy, but his youth hampers his ability to give Swayze all the emotional and intellectual support she needs to make it through past life regression analysis and remain engaged to her. So he leaves her; and I knew it was coming and I dreaded it, and it was that anxiety that had me constantly putting this book down and returning to it again as soon as I could calm down. Swayze has to face Daisy's ghost in her life on her own. Lest we loose faith in Griffin, Swayze eventually discovers just how far Grif was willing to go for love of her. And she grows and becomes even more deserving of love.
BUY THIS BOOK, the last four chapters and epilogue heal your heart and put a soul-deep smile on your face; and all the feels in earlier chapters are worth it for that!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love that TRANSCENDS, incredible story worth reading!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on April 25, 2018
Epoch (Transcend Duet #2) by Jewel E Ann.

“I feel like I’m piecing myself together. And I don’t know if Griffin will still love me the same way when he sees the whole me.”

After reading the second book in TRANSCEND DUET series, I felt the same way. Jewel E Ann shredded my heart and when pieced me together with this story intertwined with my soul. I was breathless, torn and surprised throughout this journey of these characters, hoping them to find the light.

Every single character was my beloved one, beyond precious to me, to the storyline, I didn’t want them suffering or losing one another. I wanted them happy, but the horizons were darkening with a threat to Swayze life, with the risk to the relationships about to face hard choices, break apart or stand together and face the truth.

“Don’t steal anything from the past or borrow anything from the future. Pay your dues today. That’s living life.”

The author has woven threads of their story so seamlessly that it felt natural, raw and authentic. It resonated with so many parts of me as I read these two books, I wondered what author has else in store for Swayze, Griffin, and Nathaniel. I didn’t know how I wanted the story to end, my mind was silent, but heart screamed only one thing, make them happy, bring them peace, don’t tear them apart when they went through so much to connect, and love.

Swayze in this book face so many dilemmas, get to grow up and make decisions that she felt was right to do even if the sacrifice was heartbreak. It was a dangerous quest in search of truth to uncover universe secrets of incarnation and find justice for murdered young women lives.

The love to the grocery store guy seems to be the only thing keeping her sane, anchored to this world, to this life she has been born to. Revelations about Daisy’s death and being close to the man she loved bring chaos and confusion to Swayze life. Her relationship with fiancé Griffin becomes distant and cold, which in turn makes her struggle even more. Griffin tries to save his own heart from shattering as Daisy’s memories take over his beloved woman’s life. He wants to protect her from destroying herself, but she is not done exploring and searching.

I admire Swayze strength and courage to look for the answers and discover the truth behind Daisy’s death. Such discovery about her gift to see those memories has been leading them all to resolution, closure, and dare I say absolution. This young woman wanted to see it through the end even if her own life will get jeopardized.

“I said I would protect you. I promised to keep you safe. You were my world, even if I wasn’t yours.” –grocery store guy (such a beautiful mature soul!)

Those four people (Griff, Swayze, Nate, and Morgan) lives intersected with one another had a higher purpose. I was waiting for them to learn what it was and also to see if they will come to appreciate this fantastic gift and somehow discover the place in each other’s lives.
This time around, the author also tempts and tests Swayze and Nate to rekindle their intimate relationships as the blaring connection keeps them pulling together away from Griffin who is ready to leave her jump from the cliff to uncharted waters.
“Swayze, you’re everything. The stars and the earth. The sun of a million lifetimes. You’re the girl I fell in love with. You’re the woman I want to love. You’re Morgan’s every smile. You’re my peace of mind. My salvation. You’re beautiful beyond words. Smart. Sexy. Just … everything. Except … mine.”

“My brain and my heart explode at the same time. This isn’t a chaste kiss on the head. This is the kiss that reiterates every single gut-wrenching word he just said to me. This is an explosion of two lifetimes. This is the ruination of my life as Swayze Samuels. This is the kiss that sends souls to Hell.”

While there was so much angst, torment, and fear, there also was a precious beautiful connection that saved them. For instance, the priceless gift to reunite with your beloved friend when you are falling apart, drowning in grief and yet left to take care of little daughter Morgan. Nate definitely found his when he needed it the most. Swayze helped him to find happiness and appreciate the little girl in his life. Also, Swayze fateful encounter in a grocery store that brought her to the man who loved her even lost in Daisy’s memories and crazy scared to lose herself in the past. He was her home, Safe Island in the storm at this very difficult time. Every connection has been crucial to their story and growth.

I am genuinely astonished, this story etched those delicate, beautiful pieces and shards into my heart, took me through the mill and returned me back home with the sublime feeling inside. Jewel E Ann gave us a story worth reading, loving and talking about. It left me content and whole, and yet I feel like I was on the journey million lightyears away, changed and came back with something precious to carry with me.
