A professional game developer, trained as a computer scientist, Hugo has spent well over a decade reading and writing works of fiction of variable lengths and reach. His latest work, Shadow Conclave, is his most ambitious project to date by every metric relevant to prose writing.
Hugo has traveled all around the world, including temporary residencies in Japan, Malta, UK, Germany, and his native country of Portugal. He is a fan of doing tourism by getting lost in the exploration, allowing adventure to emerge, This is an attitude that greatly influences his writing style.
He’s a lover of history, especially when it pertains to the start and end of great wars, empires, and historical figures. The mindsets across the times, the philosophies for which people live and die for -- no matter how fantastical the theme, Hugo will alway seeks to imbue his stories and characters with that same, very real flame.
Born in Portugal, living in the UK, an innate bilingual, Hugo has loved and consumed stories produced in every genre. Comics, movies, animations, music, poetry, and of course, prose. Variety and adaptation are a part of his nature.
