Exiled: Kenly's Story Kindle Edition
Kenly Baker is on the run.
As one of the Created, a new subset of Talents whose powers were exponentially increased with a synthetic substance, she is being hunted by the government.
Kenly travels across the Atlantic Ocean to the slums of London, where she finds tentative acceptance among a group of outcasts. The Talented are second-class citizens outside of America, so her new friends have spent their lives hiding their abilities, dodging shadows and barely staying alive. Kenly must quickly learn their ways if she is to have any hope for survival.
Because the government is not alone in hunting the Created. Kenly thought she knew what horrors haunt the night, but she soon learns of predators far more terrifying than anything she’s ever faced.
Suddenly, she is brutally aware of humanity’s dark side.
It’s aware of Kenly, as well. And it’s coming for her.
Exiled is a Standalone Novel in the Talented Saga and can be enjoyed without reading the rest of the series, though it is recommended.

About the author

USA Today Bestselling Author of over 30 books in six series, Sophie Davis is a pseudonym for best friends turned bestselling co-authors. The pair met in law school and instantly bonded over their love of great books and bad horror movies. After they graduated, when one longed for the ability to read minds so she wouldn't have to study for the bar exam, they co-authored the Talented Saga, a bestselling dystopian series about mind-reading assassins that was optioned for film or television.
Their current project is the Eve of Eternals world, a multi-series Urban Fantasy universe where they write about Vampires, Wolf Shifters, and Fae in a saga of reincarnating soulmates.
The duo lives in California, spending all their time outside in the sunshine while creating wild new worlds with characters who will stay with you long after the last page. The Sophie Davis team is rounded out with two rescue dogs- ineffectual assistants with frequent social media appearances as they battle keyboards for attention.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 14, 2017I was surprised to see the story from kenly's point of view. It was refreshing and answered a few questions I had. I'm glad I got to see things from kenly. To see her story and what she went through.
Although I didn't share her opinions about TOXIC and Talia I still respected them. I was hopeful when she figured out that she was manipulated and her views were wrong.
After the attack on D.C. kenly was made to run, get out of there and try to make it. She did escape, but has been in hiding and on the run. News reports says United is hunting the created. Kenly is in certain danger.
She manages to evade United and takes up hiding in London, she soon finds allies and maybe love. She also finds a prospect more terrifying than anything she has ever imagined. Talented and created being taken, being humiliated and sold!
Thank god for friends you didn't know you had. Help comes just in the nic of time.
Her views of talia and of toxic were not the same as mine

On the one hand, I liked the book. On the other hand, it wasn't my favorite and the reason for that is Kenly.
Like others who have left reviews have said, make sure you read the books in order and timely. If you're like me and you read the other books before this one came out and it has been months and many other series between those books and this one, you may find yourself working really hard to pull up details from the previous books. Especially since this one is from Kenly's perspective. I actually enjoyed that to a certain extent just to hear what it was like for the other Talented and Created individuals outside Talia's immediate range. However, I'm not as invested in Kenly as I am Talia and Erik, although I did like Riley, James, and Willa. They are great additions to the cast of characters I've come to like reading about in the series.
In this one, we get the perspective of those over the pond. We learn that life was definitely not cushy for the Talented (or Chrome as they are known by overseas), unlike how it was in the US before Toxic fell. Luckily for Kenly, after escaping the US and fleeing overseas, she gets taken in by a good group of Chromes. The majority of the book details how hard life is and exactly how lucky she was and how she took that life for granted. She drove me absolutely bonkers. She wavered between being scared and mediocre to being angry and overconfident/careless. And then she wants to play hero at the end while casting blame and trying to shame others for not jumping on her bandwagon. I could almost forgive that because I understood and could empathize with her disgust of the Poachers, but I'm still waiting for her to have that "aha" moment. I'm not sure she actually learned how wrong she was. I'm guessing the next book will help with that, but definitely hope it isn't all from Kenly's perspective. I do want to see where her and her group go from here, but also want to go back to Talia and her team.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 11, 2018This is the second time I am reading the series to get ready for the final book this summer, and I'm angry with myself for skipping this book the first time. Kenly's story is incredible and I loved being in her head. I didn't think I could love anyone as much as Talia but Sophie Davis changed that!
You must read this to witness the disgusting acts committed against the talented outside of the US. We also get a new cast of lovable characters including some that we love to hate as well as fun UK dialogue. I can't wait to continue on to refresh my memory of how Erik and Talia's story overlaps. Do NOT pass this book up, it is an incredible addition to the Talented world. Buy now!!!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 17, 2020At first, I didn't want to read this story thinking it would detract from Talia and Eric's story. But after considering that the authors wrote the series this way for a reason, I went ahead and read Kenly's story, boy am I glad that I did!!! This book is just as well written as the others and very entertaining. I would definitely recommend this series for anyone who likes adventure and action with a smidge of romance. I should also point out that this book doesn't end on a cliffhanger, but it does leave room for a sequel...
- Reviewed in the United States on November 13, 2014Was interesting but did not captivate me like the other books in the series. Hate to see the series end like this. Publisher should have done a better job proofing and fixing mistakes.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 14, 2014Kenly is on the run. She's a stranger in a strange land. No one must know who or what she is. She is being hunted both by United agents and tracked by the poachers who want to sell her. London is a dangerous place until she is rescued by new friends who are outcasts. Can she trust them? Kenly is a Higher Reasoning Talent who is now isolated from her previous life. I was caught up in Kenly's struggle to survive as she faces new dangers. Her new friends have special talents that helps them evade capture, but for how long. I enjoyed seeing her evaluate her past life with a new understanding and maturity. These new characters add depth and emotion to the story. I loved her tender and sweet romance with James. This is a fast-paced, well written story. London provides the perfect setting. I was overcome as the tension and violence increased against the Chromes. The new setting and new characters helped her become a stronger person. It was impossible to put this book down. I needed to know what was happening. It's a roller coaster ride filled with emotion and unexpected surprises. I can't wait for the adventure to continue.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 24, 2022Wow, a fight within a fight within an all out war for control. This book tells what happens to Kenly after she escapes from the DC TOXIC war with UNITED. I was sometimes annoyed by the escapades , but she finally gets wise and learns the truth about who her friends really are. It makes you want to keep reading.

4.0 out of 5 stars Exiled: Kenly's story...
This was awesome! I missed talia side of things but was always kept updated, a little unsure of what might come next after I read 1-4, but was sooo happy I took the time to read this one, at the end, or should I say the last three pages, I thing it went a little too fast. Should have slowed it down a bit. It was like oh ok, let's go with that then, totally unexpected. On many sides... well, except for Riley's side.

5.0 out of 5 stars Can a Created survive in London?
I thought I had already reviewed this. I think one of the best in the series so far. Focusing on one of the hunted, Kenly was allowed to escape at the end of book 4, 'Created' and this is her story of survival on the streets of London. The talented are called Chromes in the UK and treated badly, hunted down by poachers who sell them off as slaves, curios and worse. How does Kenly survive in a county she does not understand and a culture she know nothing about it. (England and America, two countries seperated by a common language)
