She and William have an attraction to each other, but society does not accept Ary because of her family background which has been distorted and discovered by the gossips of the ton. With the help of Williams’s friend the truth is brought to light and now you can guess the ending.

    We know very little of Miss Giles throughout most of this story. We do see her upright character, but who is she?

    Just as she starts warming up to her place in Duriel Hall, her past is made known and it appears that her presence could harm Charlotte.
