As an avid reader, I am always amazed at the talent of Ms. Morgan Dawson. She has a storytelling style that brings her characters to life. Now, she has a new series, Heartsgate Hope, a time-travel tale.

Farah Rogers is from the twenty-first century, living in New York. She doesn't have friends, does her best to avoid her father, and her mother abandoned them when she was a small girl. Through Dr. Lachele and her book club, she has learned that time travel is no longer fiction and has requested to travel in time—to a small pioneer town.

Farah: I did have a question about this whole thing—how will I know when I'm in the right place?
Dr. Lachele: You'll just know, Farah. It's hard to explain, but you will know deep down in your heart that it's right. You'll know the people you were meant to find.

"I wish I could go back in time to a small pioneer town during the later years of the nineteenth century, to find my chance at freedom."

Together, Nathan King and his brother, Raymond, manage the farm started by their late father. They take turns with the various chores, like chopping wood and cooking meals. Nathan will meet Farah when he goes to the Wilson's home to help with repairs on the roof from storm damage.

The story's plot will have Farah leaving the twenty-first century and traveling back to the later part of the nineteenth century. She will meet the Wilson family, who will offer her a ride to town. She is shocked to see very little there, and it is too far to walk to the next town with no stagecoach for days. Going home with the Wilson family gives her a roof over her head and time to think. Fate will intervene with a job for her and stay with the Wilson family. It will also give Farah and Nathan a chance to develop a friendship. But, Farah feels she can't get involved, having secrets about her past. If she were to tell Nathan the truth, would he believe her or think she was crazy?

"Farah, you're the most wonderful thing to ever happen to me. I know God sent you to me. Even through time."

"So much had changed for her in only a few months. She had found love without even looking for it, and most of all, she'd found freedom. Freedom from the pain of her childhood and from all the people who'd failed her before."

Farrah's desire to find freedom and happiness takes her to a simpler life. Although she thought she was prepared so many things she didn't know. Life in another time was a challenge and she wasnt sure of herself.
