In a heart-pounding tale of obsession, survival, and the sinister secrets lurking behind computer screens, Sarah Howell's life is shattered when intruders breach her home, echoing the shattering of her window.
Abducted and thrust into a nightmarish ordeal, Sarah finds herself imprisoned in a cold, metal box, at the mercy of a cunning tormentor who goes by the name Father Forgiveness. With each agonizing moment, she becomes both victim and muse, her soul scorched by the very photographs that document her torment. In this harrowing journey of torment and torture, Sarah's will to survive is put to the ultimate test, but a glimmer of hope emerges in the form of an unexpected ally, someone who has endured a similar hell.
As Detective Archie Davis races against time, crisscrossing the country in pursuit of elusive clues, the fate of Sarah hangs in the balance. Will he reach her in time to thwart the malevolent designs of her captor, or will she join the tragic ranks of those who came before her?

This is one hell of a novel. Start here if you haven't checked out any of Jen's work before. This one is for the hardcore horror fans. Its brutal, unnerving, unflinching in its delivery. The pacing is off the charts. The writing, the characters. One of my favourite reads this year. This deserves attention.
Jennifer hits the perfect blend of crime, thriller, and horror once again. I say again because Mirror in the Attic, (also a Detective Davis novel) her debut, was an Unforgettable experience as well. I honestly don't know why more people aren't reading Jen's work. You are missing out.
