I look forward to Janet Evanovich's books. This one surpassed my expectations. It's an easy read, a much too quick read, but her characters are alive, refreshing and funny. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to be entertained.

A really good read

This book was such a great read can't wait for fifteen! You have to love Stephanie and her crazy life!

She did it again

If you are an avid Plum lover fan as we are you may find this book very disappointing. We did not found this book hilarious like past work. I expected so much more out of this. Hopefully her next book is a lot better!

Disappointed

I was sadly disappointed in this! I laughed out loud once. Normally when reading one of these books I get funny looks from those around me I because I am laughing so hard. This book seems like it was put together quickly and the plot was hard to follow. I was excited to see Mooner, but even he was a disappointment. The love triangle needs to end- it is getting tired and old.
I wish I had kept my money

Don't bother

I just finished this book evn though I enjoyed I must say it was not one of Janet Evanovich's best. There were no viewings for grandmom to go to and not cars got blown. A bit disapointing.

Not as good

Good writers have a way of making you not only feel as if you are there, in the moment of the story, but as Janet Evanovich has done with the Plum series, makes you fall in love with the characters. They have become as much a part of my life as my real friends have. I have laughed so much with them and debated over them and looked forward to the next portion of their lives. Good writers write with such love for their characters that you can feel with each word how much thought and caring they put into a story. I've read stories by people that even though the writing itself isn't very good, you can still feel the writers love in every word.
Fearless fourteen has made me cry. I weep for the loss of my "friends" and the loss of a writers love for her characters. I don't recognize them anymore in this book. I'm embarrassed for them in this book. I didn't like the last book either, but I also feel everyone is entitled to a bad day, and Ms Evanovich is no exception, she could have written one bad one. But this one is even worse. I was left feeling that she no longer cares what words she puts in there, just as long as it fills the pages. She reuses names over and over (ie: carl and Lisa) couldn't even care enough to pick other names. It was so lack luster that I think I fell asleep a couple of times while trying to read it. While her other plum books were just the opposite, I couldn't go to sleep until I finished them.
This book has left me feeling like my friends are gone forever without any kind of a happy ending for me, and they died a slow painful death. I knew in my heart I shouldn't get involved in a series because this could happen, where you wait with excitement and enthusiasm for the next book year after year until it ends and you are sad that it ends but completely satisfied. I can't read any more of this series its too painful. I'm done with Plum. I know I'm not going to get my completely satisfied ending so I am making my exit while I still have my dignity.
I feel that I have invested a lot of money in the Plum books and a lot of time in reading them. And this is how I am repaid by Ms Evanovich, that she doesn't care enough about me as a reader to even write a half way decent book.
Oh I do have one good thing to say about Fearless Fourteen, I didn't pay for the book, for which I'm grateful

don't bother to buy

I will start off by saying that I have loved all of the Plum books up until this one. I was so excited for the book to come out, but it just wasn't the same as the others. Steph lost her backbone, Lula was painful, Mooner was awkward and Joe was downright creepy. I can't even comment on Ranger's character because it's hard to analyze three lines. I will continue to read this series, but I do hope Ms. Evanovich brings back the characters we love!

Yikes

As a long time fan of the Plum series it pains me to say that this book was boring beyond belief. I've loved the characters and the fun and can't understand what happened to either. The characters are unrecognizable and the fun is gone. I forced myself to finish. I guess it's time to close this chapter and fine something else that will entertain me. It was fun while it lasted.

Sadly disappointed

Stephanie Plum, America's favorite New Jersey bounty hunter, is back in her fourteenth adventure, along with a monkey named Carl, fan-favorite Mooner and his own brand of 'Homegrown Security', and a dead guy in boyfriend Joe Morelli's basement.

Compared to other installments in this immensely popular series, FEARLESS FOURTEEN is nothing more than dead weight. Evanovich's writing, once clean and concise, is sloppy and amateurish, lacking the trademark humor, romantic tension, and suspense of the other books.

While Evanovich has never been known for heart-pounding thrillers or groundbreaking mystery plots, this foray into the softer side of cozy mystery fails to generate anything other than boredom and apathy when tested against the standards Evanovich has set for herself and her series. Points for effort, but disappointing nonetheless.

"Fearless Fourteen" is Cowardly

I really, really wanted to like this book. Unfortunately, I can sum up my feelings in one word. Boring. Not much mystery, very little adventure, and several scenes/situations taken from previous books. Waste of a couple of hours.
