Fenrir's Fate (The Gods Made Me Do It Book 14) Kindle Edition

4.7 out of 5 stars 447 ratings

Fenrir, ancient Norse god of wolf shifters, has had more centuries than he could count to become set in his ways. Can a cute little cat shifter from Vegas make him want to change them?

“Oh, no, oh, no, oh, no. I think I might have just punched my mate in his furry face. I’m so sorry.”

Dorian was on a great adventure in Montana when his campervan runs out of gas, and he finds himself stranded in the middle of nowhere. He didn’t expect to find a wolf, he didn’t anticipate hitting said wolf who had startled the living daylights out of him, and he definitely wasn’t prepared for when that same wolf just disappeared.

“It can’t be true. It just can’t be true.”

Fenrir was the first to admit he was set in his ways. It’s what made him dependable, reliable, and comfortable. He saw no need to change his ways, even after his pack deserted him. Coming across a cat shifter was a mild excitement in his day, but that didn’t mean he had to claim the man.

The Fates work in mysterious ways, but not even they were prepared for how stubborn Fenrir could be. It could take the efforts of Loki and Anubis, plus a spot of advice from Claude and Poseidon, to get these two on the path of Fated Mate happiness.

Hi

My name is Lisa Oliver and welcome to my Amazon Author page. I recently celebrated my eleventh year anniversary of the release of my first MM paranormal book, The Reluctant Wolf, and absolutely love my characters and the wonderful readers who support me. Now with more than one hundred books under my belt, I have no plans to stop spreading the love my wonderful characters deserve.

My current series include:

The Cloverleah Pack (Now finished with thirteen full novels and two short story books)

Stockton Wolves (Now finished with five books)

Bound and Bonded (now finished with six books)

Alpha and Omega

The Gods Made Me Do It (a Cloverleah pack spin off series)

Balance

City Dragons

Arrowtown

The Necromancer's Smile trilogy

Northern States Pack

Quirk of Fates

The Arranged Marriage Series

Assassin's Alley

The Hellhound Collar Series

As you can guess I love men who love men, vampires, shifters, Fae and the true mate trope. In every book I ensure there is no cheating, and there is an HEA and many of my books can be read as a standalone. In my head two (or three) men may be mates, but it takes a special kind of journey to find love, and that is the ambition I have for every single one of my MCs.

I love to hear from my readers so feel free to get in touch via my blog, email, Facebook or twitter profile.

This is one of my favorite series. This is a wonderful addition. The growth of Vendor world view and his acceptance of his new reality was beautiful to see. Dorian was adorable with more layers than he showed. Visiting others from previous stories was a delightful morsel. Not an action packed story but a sweet, loving one.

I enjoyed reading about Fenrir and Dorian. It wasn't as intense as the others were, I liked that. I really loved Loki being involved with them in this one as he added a bit comedy .

This story was everything I love about Lisa oliver. Formulaic, definitely and there's no denying it, but the Lisa oliver formula works and no one does it quite like she does.

Fenrir was an absolute piece of godly garbage in the beginning, so convinced of his superiority that all the problems were with anyone but him. Dorian is just the sweetest little thing, looking for acceptance in a world that doesn't like to accept anyone who is "different". Honestly, even though I knew it would all turn around I was pretty nervous for Dorian future happiness at the start. Certainly didn't seem like Fenrir was going to get his head out of his butt, thank goodness Loki can give just about anyone the kick in the face they need to straighten up.

This was a great continuation of the series and genuinely everything I love about Lisa oliver. 20 stars and highly recommend!

I loved reading this story! Fenrir is as stubborn and anti-social as the other Gods, convinced that wolves should live far away from civilization without modern conveniences such as indoor plumbing, while his mate, a cat shifter, is a social animal who enjoys living and working in Vegas. The story is well written and has a nice pace. Although it does not have as much action as some of the previous books - it is more about relationship and family - the story is fun to read and kept me interested until the last page. I would love to read a follow-up story about their life with Matt and their adventures with the halfway house. The stories in this series are all set in the same world and can be read on their own, but some of the references may be a little hard to place if you haven't read what came before.

I enjoyed the depth of getting to watch Fenrir grow into himself and for the reader to really understand why he os the way he is. It was a well written story.

I just loved these two. From very rocky beginnings both the characters and story evolve. I loved the ending and hope in the future these three grace us with their presence again.

It was so nice to watch Fenrir grow over the course of the book, to meet Dorian, a sweet lynx but with a spine, and to see old friends like Claude and Loki. I especially liked the unusual take on Fenrir's relationship to his wolf spirit. I'd love to hear more from Dorian and Fenrir in subsequent, especially any developments with the found family. Highly recommended.

3.0 out of 5 stars Ok but not great

This is my least favourite book in this series. I suppose their is always one, considering all the other books in the series are really good. I found this book to be a bit disjointed and the 2 MC's just didn't seem to have the same connect as in the other books. Dorian was a delight but his character became somewhat muted after the first half of the book which was such a shame. Fenrir was dour and remained so throughout. Very little godly powers occurred, and it all just fell rather flat. Highly recommend this series but this one not so much.

I have eagerly awaited this addiction to this wonderful series. It was fantastic to witness Fenrir's growth and acceptance of his adorable mate. I particularly enjoyed their brief visit to the Tulsa pack - and I was hoping they would visit the Cloverleah pack, and it was briefly mentioned - which was a pity, I so miss this pack.
The only problem with this book is it sadly had to end - I could joyfully emerge myself in Lisa Oliver's world for ever! Now of course is the wait for her next book, thank god its only a month.
Congratulations Lisa on another brilliant book!

Loved this book. Like Lisa I didn’t know if I should slap Fenrir around the head or hug him and tell him all would be good. Dorian is a perfect mate for Fenrir. Loved that the book was solely focused on the two MCs and their way of seeing the world. Highly recommended like all books by Lisa Oliver.

4.0 out of 5 stars Where the wolf is lovelier than the man
Reviewed in Germany on September 9, 2024
Interesting take on the real essence and nature of Fenrir and the realisation of his human part that it is the wolf who is godly. An easy read, low on "angst" with active and will strong animal spirits and the intervention of a fatherly Loki. Enjoyable like the whole series.
