Fey Dominion: Gay Dark Romantasy (Fey Lords Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 459 ratings

He is a fey prince. A ruler of the race that conquered Earth.

I’m a leader of the Resistance.

There can never be anything between us.

I’m lucky he didn’t kill me when he caught me snooping outside the palace, but then again, Prince Mabon Y Mabinogi is unlike anyone I’ve ever met.

His decisions don’t make sense.

He is beautiful.

Demanding.

Loud and dramatic.

He loves sparkly things and pretty things.

And keeping me as his pet.

I’ll play along for now. For the sake of the Resistance and the intelligence I can gather.

But as soon as I can escape his bed, I’m gone.

There is no reason to stay.

No reason to take him with me.

Is there?

Fey Dominion contains a bratty & bossy fey prince. His beefcake of a human, captor/captive, enemies to lovers, bi-awaking and piercings.

Happily ever after is guaranteed.

Each book in the new Fey Lords series follows a different couple. This means each book can be enjoyed as a standalone.

Enjoyed it as much as the first book, plus had a bunch of tropes I loved. Can’t wait for more sequels. Tristan’s book should be good, but book 4 has me extra excited.

(Tropes included: Bossy bottom, submissive himbo top, hurt/comfort, captor/captive)

My main problem with this book was the love story. I don't think there was a meaningful conversation between Blake and Mabon in the whole story. Their relationship was pretty superficial. Overall, it was okay.

This is a fun adventure with a truely romantic ending. A perfect way to spend a rainy afternoon. The characters are sweet. The human clueless. The ending a definite source of the warm and fuzzies. As always well written with an excellent pace.

This book was so much fun! I love sex slave stories when they are light enough the slave is powerless but is still actually enjoying himself instead of being traumatized. Super sexy. And the characters were great. I’m in love with Blake now.

Unlike the other books in the series, the main characters were not very likeable. Mabon was a spoiled child in an adults body and was so immature. I just did not like him. The "pet" was pretty much a narcissistic wuss. Was disappointed in this one.

I have been eagerly waiting for Mabon’s book and it DID NOT DISAPPOINT. I loved this book. Mabon is everything. I loved getting to understand more of him and all of his layers as the book went on. Blake was perfect for Mabon- even when he was being oblivious. I am obsessed with this series and this unique world the author has created. I want to live in it. Mabon and Blake’s story is a fast paced wild ride and I loved every second of it. My heart shattered for Mabon a couple of times, poor sweet Mabon. Mabon is the master a hiding his emotions and I loved that Blake was able to read him better as time went on. This book was dark, but also funny and sweet and had me blushing and squirming. I just don’t have the words to express how addicted I am to this series and I can’t wait for more to come.

First I want to say that I was super excited to read Mabon’s story. Come on… he is the embodiment of a power bottom and an entitled fae prince! I had to see how his story was going to play out. In part because bottoming in general in this world seems to go hand in hand with submission, and that isn’t Mabon.

So, Mabon sees Blake outside the palace. He likes what he sees and claims him as his pet. As one does.

Blake is taking pictures of Buckingham Palace in hopes of gathering intel for the resistance. Naturally.

I’ll be honest, I didn’t like Blake for much of the book. Not all of it was his fault. The poor guy gets plopped down in the middle of a fae court and has zero explanation of what to expect, what certain events mean, and some of the thoughts and choices he makes reflect that deficit. It was also difficult to get past his wrong choice for he felt was the right reason. I knew his heart was in the right place, but my god, where was his head? He does redeem himself in my estimation, when he tried to right that particular wrong. He grows as a character and as a person who I felt complimented Mabon better.

Mabon is a wonderful mix of domineering fae prince, golden retriever energy, and horndog power bottom. I swear, his answer for everything seemed to be orgasms. So I found it sweetly endearing that he really took to heart the “if you treat your pet well, he’ll fall in love with you” comment that came up soon after he made Blake his pet. Not gonna lie, there was a bit of a learning curve on Mabon’s part to figure out what it meant to have a pet.

There are some instalove vibes, but I think that has a lot to do with the vagueness of the timeline. I can honestly say I have no idea how much time passed from beginning to end. In spite of that, I truly did enjoy Mabon and Blake’s story. A rounded up 3.75 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I have been impatiently waiting for this book and it did NOT disappoint! Blake and Mabons story was suuuuch a journey. There were times I wanted to shake them both slap some sense into them. 😂 but I loved them nonetheless. My heart hurt so much for Mabon. He really has to fake it to make it in so many instances and I’m just so glad he finally got his HEA. I love him so much and his insecurities killed me, he deserves all the love in the world! I’m also so glad Blake came to his senses and accepted the fact he loves him. No one will treat Mabon better than Blake. 🥹 10/10 recommend this book. I love this author!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fey/human romance in this alternate England
Reviewed in Canada on September 20, 2024
I just love the way that S Rodman has taken with this alternate England that has magic and the Fey. We get more Fey/human romance along with the political scenes and the machinations of the Fey court. Told from the human Blake’s point of view he is naive and rather clueless about what is really going on around him but I like that Rodman doesn’t make him stupid, which would fit the stereotype of a bigger guy. Mabon is full of contradictions which seems to be the default for all of the Fey that have been in these books. I don’t usually like books that leave questions unanswered, but this is a series and Rodman is good at slowly working answers into the story line. It gives you a sense of what most humans would probably be feeling if the Fey took over the world. Very entertaining reading but you need to read the various books in order to get the most understanding and enjoyment out of them.

I love this series! I adore Mabon and I want to wrap him in a fluffy blanket and give him all the hair ties! And the change in Blake as he comes to understand more about the fey is fabulous.

This story is told completely from Blake’s viewpoint and his inner monologue is the best. A running stream of consciousness that is insightful and hilarious and at times upsetting as he comes to terms with some things. Mainly his unlikely attraction to Mabon. But also to Fey culture in general.

Mabon is of course is not what’s expected. He is practiced in how to survive at court but he desperately needs someone in his corner. He latches onto Blake - falling for him quickly. But between Blake not understanding Fey culture and Mabon having to keep up his walls for protection - it takes them some time to truly come together.

Not that there is no heat. There is tons of heat. And part of the funniest mental dialogue is Blake’s being unable to resist Mabon.

Two books down now. This book, like the first one features an MC who immediately rolls over and shows it's belly like an eager puppy to their captor.

And while, yes, Blake does "betray" Mabon by taking him to the resistance he did it because he had some misguided idea that the resistance would help him instead of, not.

Blake spends the first part of the book silently following Mabon like a puppy and the second half wallowing in self hate for "betraying" Mabon. Who, let's not forget, kidnapped him.

Also I dunno why but this author hates contractions and it makes the writing very stunted.
