    Fielders Choice ( Love Of The Game ) Tropes - 💜sports/ baseball romance 💜childhood friends 💜friends to lovers 💜love at first sight Well I really was just taken on the ride of my life and completely blown away in all the best ways . C.A Riley nailed it and delivered one of the best books I’ve read this year . Reid and Braelynn’s journey is everything, i mean everything. It’s an emotional rollercoaster that plays on all your emotions in ways you won’t even be expecting. You’ll experience everything from being utterly speechless, to yelling outta pure frustration. Your heart will feel like it’s beating so fast and then bam belong crushed the next , you’ll be glued to the edge of your seat anticipating what will happen from one second to the next . And you’ll find yourself rooting so freaking hard. From the moment I met both Braelynn and Reid I could feel myself becoming more and more i invested in their characters - something I cannot put into words just pulled me to them like a magnet and before I even knew what was happening they had grabbed onto my heart so tightly and refused to let go . These two have been best friends since they were 5 and 8 years of age . Always there for one another through the good and the bad times and everything in between. You could always feel the love these two shared for each other from the very beginning ( love that changed into so much more then friendship but was never spoken of ) well at least until years later when they were adults . But Brae has not had the easiest of lives by any means .shes suffered abuse at the hands of her parents and then a terrible accident that ended tragically. With the loss of loved ones . It’s no wonder Brae is so hesitant to open her heart to love .my heart literally broke for all she’s been through. Sure Reid has always been her biggest fan and protector but he also had to stand by and watch his best friend suffer through so much trauma. I really do not want to give anything away so I am just going to stop here because trust me when I say this is one love story your going to want to go in with a completely open mind and just experience for yourself. What I will say is that this truly was and is one of the most beautiful and emotional love stories I’ve read in such a long time . Filled with angst , humor , drama , witty banter, love , passion, heartfelt and heartbreaking moments, obstacles, tragedy, secrets, second chances, family , friendships , and two of the most likable, relatable, unique and multi layered characters you’ll ever meet . C.R Riley delivers every single time and never fails to exceed all my expectations

    First of all I love C.R. Riley books! When I realized Reid's story was the 4th in a series, I had to go read the other 3 first! All were such great books!

    Now on to Reid and Braelynn's story! I know that these 2 have been best friends since they were just little but I got the feeling that it was love at first sight for Reid! He was always protective of Braelynn and wanted to make sure she was ok. Braelynn was kind of ostracized when she was in school because of her parents and circumstances but she made it out except for taking care of her sister.

    After the Vegas "incident" Brealynn ran and Reid turned into a typical man! It took them 2 years to reconnect and Reid didn't want to come clean but it all worked out in the end.

    C.R. Riley's books are a must read. I love how faith, morals and ideals are incorporated into all the books which is rare these days. We can have books that are hot, sexy and sensual while incorporating other things.

    The love of the Game series from CR Riley is fantastic! The newest edition Fielder’s Choice is a fantastic read. This one will pull at your heartstrings. This is a beautiful story of Brealynn and Reid from the moment they meet through their adult life. We see the good, bad, ugly, goodness and love. Brealynn’s story is tough to read, she goes through so much throughout her life. Although she didn’t have the best childhood she is an amazing, strong and determined young woman. She doesn’t let her past define her. I love how CR writes Brealynn and we see her grow, build confidence and develop into an amazing woman. Reid is amazing…from the moment they met, he has been Brealynn’s protector, confidant, and friend. Hell has a bright future ahead of him and always sees Brealynn in his life. However, he’s holding onto a secret. This is a standalone but I recommend reading the other books first so you can understand the backstory of the other characters. Fantastic read!!

    First thing, if you are not a fan of the miscommunication trope then this book is not for you.

    The main characters of this book Brealynn and Reid are so bad in communicating with each other their true feelings and thoughts that there were times that I wished I could actually jump into the story just so I could get them to have an actual open conversation with each other.

    Brealynn and Reid have known each other since they were young children and grew up together. They both love each other but are not in a relationship due to their lack of properly telling each other their feelings. Which means that years go by before they even admit that there is something there between them.

    I do have to say though that there is content warnings readers need to be aware of before reading this book that goes beyond miscommunication. The warning being that this book does deal with child abuse and neglect. This happens both physically and emotionally. The authors does not write anything that is too graphic or descriptive but it is heavily implied.

    Overall, this was a great read and hope others read it. Just remember to be patient through Brealynn and Reid’s journey to finally being able to honestly talk to one cause it kinda gets a bit worse before it gets better.
