    Wow. So this is my first book by this author, and when I read the blurb, I knew this was EXACTLY what i was looking for, and I was right! I needed a book with low angst and high heat as well as alllll the sweet, scary emotions that happen when falling in love or reading about someone else falling in love. These two men have been through some really hard times. Spencer is finishing up his degree and working to keep his mom's bookstore and dream afloat while also dealing with the grief of having to watch her fade away. His emotions are on a fine line, and he has a lot on his shoulders, but he's doing it because it's what he loves. On top of that, he enjoys things like makeup and lace, and other "men" have put him down or made him feel ashamed of it. But then he meets Finn, his sexy tattooed new neighbor. Finn is new in town and about to start at a tattoo shop to make a better life for himself. He was drowning where he was living before, having to deal with his own grief after a tragic event and having his mother and brother going down and dark hole and trying to drag him down with them. But then he met Spencer. Together, two lost souls meet, and without expecting it, they find a part of themselves that they didn't know was missing. Spencer shows Finn what it's like to have love and a family and to be supported, and Finn shows Spencer that underneath his doubt, he's confident and sexy and inspiring. They bring out the very best in each other, and reading about them falling in love was truly beautiful. And I can not express how hot these two were together!!!! The deeper their feelings got, the more intense their need for each other got, and they could not keep their hands off each other. I'm definitely so excited to read more from these wonderful characters, and I highly recommend you take the leap and read about them too

    For a debut novel, it was really good. I got sucked in right away and loved all the characters. I thought it was going to be a 5 star read but it fell a little flat in the second half. I think it needed just a bit more angst (it still would have been low angst) and Spencer’s character development was a little lackluster. He supposedly struggled with anxiety but it didn’t really come across (which didn’t make sense because Finn’s panic attacks and struggles were so well portrayed). He was supposed to be lonely and grieving but that also didn’t really come across on page. His obsession with his v card seemed underdeveloped. He was a college graduate that owned a business and claimed to be a very sexual person and had no reservations about intimacy otherwise. But he was scared to fully put himself out, both physically and emotionally, because he sorta dated one jerk? Same with his makeup and lace. He had a lot of support from friends and people around town but still held himself back. All valid fears, but again, just needed more depth. And how klutzy he was… it was too much and too repetitive. However, I still loved him. He was such a sweetie. And Finn… he was perfect!! I would definitely recommend even with the few issues I had and I am exited to continue the series!

    I liked a lot of things about this debut novel, which had tons of charm and humor. I loved both main characters, Finn and Spencer are so very easy to root for. There is also a lot of heart and emotion in their journey, in particular Spencer and Finn are struggling with grief which was handled well. It has a great small town vibe and quirky side characters both of which add plenty of personality to the story. For me, a couple of things did not quite work. First, the dialogue did not always ring true , so that took me out of the story on occasion. The flow is also a bit hard to follow. For me, there is too much extra stuff - the dreams, the flashbacks, all the internal thoughts distracted from the story and the relationship. Finn and Spencer are super sweet, they definitely worked and I look forward to reading more from this new author.

    If you love MM romances, I cannot recommend this enough! It is low angst, found family, neighbors to lovers, and oh so delicious! I want to live in Camden with all of these characters! Finn may be running but he runs right to the place he needed to be. A safe place with people who care. And OMG Spencer! I just wanted to give him the biggest hug. You will fall in love with the whole group. And let me not glance over the steam…because it is HOT! Once they got started they couldn’t keep their eyes or their hands off of each other. Well done!

    💕 Can these two be anymore perfect? I absolutely adore dorky nerdy characters like Spencer. I mean, he owns a bookstore for the love of all things beautiful! With his klutziness and his ever wonderful cat, we get some great humorous moments to break up some of the tension.
    And Finn. Finn deserves all the love in the world. What it took for him to pack up everything he knew I’m search of a new beginning. How hard it must have been to let go of everything. To walk away from the only toxic life you’ve ever known. But he deserves it. He deserves a life of his own to love and cherish and be loved and cherished in return.
    I can’t say enough about how Finn not only accepts Spencer for who he is, but he supports him, lifts him, encourages and loves everything that makes Spencer who he is. The hard working man. The klutzy man. The clothes, the makeup, the silk and lace.
    Two broken lonely pieces together as one. Found family.
    With book 2 coming out from this gorgeous series, it was time for a re-read of one of my favourite characters of all literature.

    At first I had mixed feelings about this story, and going by the reviews I was in the minority, I found it a little dragging at times for the first few chapters. But, again because of all those great reviews, I persisted, thank goodness! This turned out to be a wonderful read, Spencer and Finn were totally adorable and the back up crew, the tattoo artists, were a delight. This story is touching and funny but there is a sad side with Finn's panic attacks and terrible nightmares because of his horrendous past.
