    Caden and Rio are my favorite pair of men in BL Maxwell's universe. I was so excited to hear that we would see more of these wonderful men (well they were boys when I first met them)!

    The First Twelve is a wonderful continuation of Rio and Caden’s story from Better Together and Chains Required. It’s a fabulous follow up and both of them have been married for a few years now. They both want a baby, and Caden’s sister, Chloe, has agreed to be their surrogate and use Rio’s sperm to make a baby. Follow both men through Chloe’s pregnancy, the morning sickness, food cravings and mood swings as their baby develops.

    Rio was absolutely hilarious during the whole pregnancy because he thought Chloe hated him for being pregnant. When Jesse is born, their quiet lives are never the same again! Baby Jesse is adorable with Rio’s dark looks and Caden’s blue eyes and really keeps them on their toes. They quickly learn how to change a diaper, bottle feed, burp, and baby proof the house as Jesse grows the first year. When Jesse learns to roll and crawl after Chaos, the family dog, Caden and Rio have to keep up.

    The first year of having Jesse is a challenge but their love makes it a great year. It was a fabulous year-long journey that won't stop for Caden and Rio now that they have Jesse in their lives :) It was wonderful seeing Tommy mentioned from The List and seeing all the familiar faces like Adana, Eron, Lisa, Val, and Leticia again. What a wonderful family for Jesse and I loved how BL Maxwell gave us a teaser of another re-appearance near the end. Amazing, wonderful, and hilarious :) Definitely an amazing and enjoyable glimpse back into their lives!

    I’ve read this author before. This is a mm contemporary story set in the USA. Main characters are Rio and Caden. This is book 2 in the series and I have not read book 1. This story covers Chloe being a surrogate for them, the birth and first 12 months of Jesse’s life.

    Rio and Caden want a family and Caden's sister, Chloe offers to be their surrogate. This is a short story that follows after Rio and Caden's first book that is well worth reading also. The book shows us how a family that is made through need and love can survive and go on to solidify their lives. Jesse is born and we watch these two men make a life with their new son and are given a loving glimpse into their lives as family and friends come into the picture. This is a loving, funny, and warm read that includes the holiday season. It is how we all wish our lives could be and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it with it's HEA. I voluntarily read and reviewed this ARC Book.

    Sooo good!!! In this story we got to revisit with Rio and Caden and how their lives have unfolded so far. They both have come so far since we first met them in Better Together. They are looking forward to the birth of their first child. They have found a fantastic found family and emotional support system for themselves. The secondary cast of characters in this tight knit group of people are fantastic! Thank you, BL Maxwell, for taking us on this journey!     I loved this story. After all Caden and Rio have been through. They finally get to be dads after Caden's sister gives then the gift of a lifetime. This is their journey of the first year of being dads. Very sweet story.

    I loved Caden and Rio's story in Better Together and was happy to see another chapter in their tale!
    This book is a very interesting take on a gay couple expecting their first child and the child's first months. I loved how the process was presented and how the emotions between MCs developed in this book. Loved the humor, the serious and all the feels!

    It's no secret how much I love Rio and Caden, I love these two guys as if they were my kids, and seeing them experience parenthood and getting their own family was such a beautiful and rewarding feeling. And of course they face this new challenge as they have done everything else: together, as a united front, and with a whole lot of love!
    Baby Jesse is such a cool and mischievous baby, and with his sidekick (apply-named Chaos, the dog) he’s sure to keep his dads on their toes for years to come!
    My heart is full and content, and I loved every single minute of this HEA!

    These two wonderful men finally become parents to their own little one. After becoming parents to Rio's brother and sister as a teenager, Rio now has the chance to be a proper parent and create a family with Caden.

    This book takes us through their first twelve months as a new family, but be warned about the epilogue. It has all the feels and more. I just wish this family was real and that I was part of their family parties.

    This has been such an excellent series, and I loved reading about the growth between this family and mainly Rio and Caden. Beautifully written books, with all the feels, what's not to love.
