Fixing Fergie (Farmer In A Fix Book 4) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 20 ratings

She’s got a problem. And it isn’t just her tractor. Luckily, her mechanic knows a thing or two about problems …

She’s the boss of the apple orchard, but she doesn’t know a thing about growing apples. Charlie doesn’t know anything about tractors, either, so when Fergie breaks down, she’s forced to call in the mechanic.

Carlton is intrigued by the girl from the city, but before he can explore the growing connection between them, trouble whisks her away. Undeterred, he follows her, only to discover that there’s a whole lot he doesn’t know about her. Not to mention that he gets off to a bad start with her mother …

He’s way out of his league … but does it matter? Will the enigmatic city girl look twice at a mechanic from the middle of nowhere? Will it be a happy ending or a broken heart?

Fixing Fergie is a sweet romance with touching moments, sweet kisses, and amusing conversations. It is book 4 in the Farmer In A Fix series and can be read as a standalone, but is best enjoyed as part of the series.

Don’t miss this sweet tale of opposites. Scroll up and get your copy with one click!

This is another cute and quick read in this series. This time the troublesome animal character is replaced by a finicky tractor nicknamed Fergie. Erstwhile city girl Charlie meets farm equipment mechanic Carlton when he comes out to her new apple orchard and farm to fix Fergie. A friendship blossoms and becomes more, but there are family issues calling Charlie back to the city. Can their fledgling relationship survive? The romance was sweet and gradual, although they really didn’t have that much time. “‘Before you know it, you’re in so deep that you don’t even want to back out.’” There is quite a bit of up and down in the relationship, but since it’s more of a novella, there is a lot of that occurring off the page and through summary. It was an easy read and I enjoyed it. There is also a glimpse into a secondary second chance romance in the story. There’s a nice overall message about what really matters in life. “‘I need to slow down and appreciate the ordinary moments of a journey. It’s not just about reaching the destination as quickly and efficiently as possible.’” While there is a bit of carryover with other books in the series, this one reads very well as a standalone. There is a brief mention of faith in the story. There is some content regarding caregiving, dementia, cancer, and other health issues. This is a sweet and clean romance story with no harsh language.

Carlton works with his sister and father at his father’s shop for farm equipment repairs. He’s known as forever a bachelor in the small community of Granville but he desires a family someday. On a call Carlton meets Charlie. She’s new to the area after purchasing an apple orchard. The tractor isn’t working and Charlie needs it to be repaired. Once Carlton fixes the tractor and asks Charlie to try it by driving it around her farm, he realizes she doesn’t know how to drive it. How can a newcomer to the area and a greenhorn expect to make it work? Carlton begins to help Charlie with her inexperience and in the process he admires how she plunges forward to learn something completely out of her comfort zone. Carlton begins to have feelings for Charlie until a family crisis happens and she leaves. Is there a future for Carlton & Charlie. If there is a future how does it happen with Charlie gone? Another great story by Kaitlynn Clarkson that I enjoyed from beginning to the end.

This was an enjoyable book. Charlie has moved from Cleveland to Granville. She meets Carlton when he comes to fix her tractor, and he helps her learn how to operate farm machinery. They are attracted to each other. However, Charlie is keeping a secret from Carlton about her past life in Cleveland. What will happen when he finds out? Find out by reading this enthralling book. I highly recommend it to other romance readers.

This cute series shows what a farm is really all about: Hard work, broken down machinery, and unpredictable animals. Each book is standalone and can be read in any order.
Fergie is the tractor and Charlie (female) the owner and inexperienced farmer. Since Fergie doesn't want to work, Charlie calls the local repair shop and Carlton comes to the rescue.
The story is sweet, clean, beginnings of love, and then life throws in obstacles. But, when you know it's the "right one," you are willing to "weather the season till you find the purpose or reason."
I love how Charlie and Carlton worked on the relationship even when they didn't think there was hope.
I was provided an advanced copy of the book via Booksprout; this review is my honest opinion

Charlie just moved from the city to the country. She is running a farm with help from a manager. The problem is she isn’t sure how to run the equipment. She called to have her tractor worked on, Fergie. Her tractors name. Carlton came to fix Fergie and stayed to show Charlie how to run Fergie. They seemed to get along well but then Charlie had a family issue and had to move back to the city. What will happen with their romance? We anything happen for them?
